  • powernow was already included with the base models of the 3000 series LOL.

    this guy is really gay

  • can it play simz 2 on it?

  • I an acer aspire 30501594 i love it

  • crap laptop

    crap vista

    bloody useless!

  • Just max the memory out to 2gb, and replace the HD with a 7200 RPM drive, and install either XP Pro or Win 7 ultimate 32bit as 64bit does not do too well on it. it makes a great 2nd computer or backup laptop. so don't discount it, I have 2 of them and should know :-)

  • the Sempron isnt 64-bit compliant

  • Actually there are a few select models of the Sempron chips that are 64-bit compliant, go look on Wikipedia, and I know for a fact cause i have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit edition running just fine on my 1.8Ghz Sempron ACER 3050 :-), In fact I am using it now at the moment to type this message. :-) but like i said before 32 bit does use less resources, but 64-bit does work. :-)

  • @nelizmastr: The Sempron 3500+ IS 64-bit compliant. Every single version of the 3500+ I could find is 64-bit compliant.

  • @clays121: Actually, the memory maxes out to 4 GB of DDR2 SODIMM. . . Each slot can handle a 2 GB stick. I know this from experience.

  • @SCRebelMetalHead1 yeah I know it's 4GB of ram, at the time I made a typo, and if you run Win 7 ultimate 32bit on this machine, windows will only show 2.62GB of usable ram out of 4GB of ram, cause of the 32bit address limit and the reserved system memory. Also I've found flash gets a slight bit worse on this machine with each update, and NetFlix(Silverlight)gets better and better with each update. LOL!

  • @clays121 @SCRebelMetalHead1 I have an Aspire 3050-1923. I've been wanting to upgrade it for a time now. So far, I only upgraded the memory to 1GB (adding a 512MB module). Now I have a question. Can I buy a 2GB module and use it together with one of my 512MB modules? Or do I HAVE to buy two 2GB to have more than 2GB?

  • @clays121 @SCRebelMetalHead1 Finally, I'm asking this also, because I saw the forum post on NotebookReview where a guy (and several others after him) upgraded his processor from that Sempron 3500+ to a Turion x2 TL-50. Haven't done it yet, but I already bought the processor. Needless to say, my laptop is out of warranty now (bought 3 years ago).

  • Can someone help me when i start my computer the acer logo pops up with aot of lines over the scren and when the loading scren come all the line still is there but ok then my computer starts and i still see some lines on the scren and when i try to install some drivers like nviada my computer is going out please help! :(

  • the GPU died, youre screwed

  • It's not an Nvidia chipset in the 3050 it's an AMD/ATI X1100 chipset, You have to go on AMD's website, and download a legacy driver if your running WinXP or Vista, as the new Catalyst drivers will not work correctly. Also like nelizmastr said, your GPU might be dying, but check your Bios settings, and download the ATI legacy driver off AMD's site. Also it might even be your LCD going bad, and not the GPU. Hard to tell without seeing the screen best of luck anyways. :-)

  • myson mein mery pass yeh system tha ;)

  • someone who fixes computers for a living acers laptops are up there with macintosh laptops because there are no access dorrs to the ram chips. Most acer laptops you have to take apart and flip the motherboard around to put more ram in.

  • I have 3 ACER laptops, 2 Aspire 3050's, and 1 Aspire 5515, and all 3 have fairly easy access doors to the ram on the bottom of the system, no need to flip the motherboard. :-) Acers are nice notebooks, when they have AMD chips in them.

  • i want to explaine somthing for "bahabdoulaye".

ok, the first generation of the processeurs is dual core ,the second is core duo , and the last wich is the best is core2duo .

and if u want to chose a laptop chose the one that hav proce core2duo (fast),and for the RAM it is important but let say u bought a laptop with 1 Mo of ram, don't worry coz u can buy another (or two) memory of ram and u put it in ur laptop and u'll get 2 (or three) Mo ram,

    thanks and good luck

  • i have this one, i would like to know where is the WLAN? i mean, in which part of the computer

  • I have this laptop.

    Very awesome...

  • cute vid

  • at the start it looked like the shark was talking

  • ive got this laptop

    biggest heap of shite ever!

slow as fuck with vista on it

and dont even have a dvd burner

  • i have the same laptop if you download AVG it makes you laptop much faster

  • make no difference dude

  • The only reason the computer is slow is because it may have not been mentioned to work with vista properly, if you have read the faq's it would've told you that you could use the computer with vista, if you didn't then bun you, I have an acer aspire T660 with windows vista and it's working properly, and you know why, it's because the computer was mentioned in the faq's as one of the computers that would work, so just look next time, and don't buy acer, I only bought it cuz it was inexpensive.

  • I bought a dell 1525 inspiron & it's too damn fast!!!

  • can you tell me what is a best brand for laptop computer (PC ONLY!!) pleaaaaaaaseeeeee!!!! i am trying to buy one for my school work! any answer will be greatly appreciated. am also thinking about buying 1525 inspiron. Can u honestly tell me the benefits and downsides of the 1525 Dell inspiron?

  • Ye!!! PowerNow!, but it's not dual core.

  • what is the dual core for? can you tell me what is a best brand for laptop computer (PC ONLY!!) pleaaaaaaaseeeeee!!!! i am trying to buy one for my school work! any answer will be greatly appreciated.

  • Sorry to reply after two weeks. I recommend dual core processor because their very efficient when it come to processing. dual core processor is like having two brains, buy intel Core2Duo or athlonX2 for AMD platform it doesn't matter which one all are very powerful reliable.

  • biggest bag of dogshit i ever wasted money on in my life. GREAT FUCKING PAPERWEIGHT though

  • 60 million shiped sold and thrown in the garbage :P

  • This is a rip.....

  • What was that switch left to the wireless switch?

  • BlueTooth.

  • ....

    it's LAN, not bluetooth.

bluetooth is for connecting to devices, not the internet. lolz

  • There's two switches.

The left one is BlueTooth, the right is Wi-Fi.

He even said "left to the WIRELESS switch"
