Hi! I have a P6T SE, i7 920, and 12 gb. Can somebody help me in which slots to insert my Ram Memories? I have 2 kingston rams of 2gb, and 2 kingston rams of 4 gb. I instert them like this:

A1: 4gb

B1: 2gb

Is this the right way?

Hey dude i have the same mobo,cpu and cooler that you have. But i think there is something wrong with my cooler cus everytime i turn on my pc a black screen pops up saying that there is an error with the fan and asks me to press f1 to continue which i do every single time i turn on the pc. I can hear both fans of the Noctua HFp12 work but i m getting some crazy temperatures, 3 minutes ago i was playin gta4 and i got temps of 67-68c thats just crazy and its not even hot here( 20-25c in my room)

.. its old but just saw it here; fan error is because of spinning low @ cold system startup - for silent-setting in bios. u can set to standard in bios to have no msg .. but more noise in idle, or leave it, accept the beeping and switch off the f1 question in bios .. then its running across that. rgds.

Just a helpful hint, never ever do what he does in this video and handle the CPU extensively. Always keep the CPU in its packaging until the moment comes to install it into the motherboard, this will help to minimize potential damage. This is more true of the CPU than any other component.

I have a rig with I7 920,Zalman CNPS 10 cooler,

Asus P6T stable at 4 GHz. The only thing av av changed in bios ( after much testing) is core cpuvolt to 1.29375 ( uses 18.92 watt idle -130 watt under stress). Core temp around 38 degrees. QPI/Dram corevolt 1.30000. Drambusvoltage 1.64. SPD is 8 8 8 20 at 1203 Mhz. Corsair Dominator 1600 Mhz

Stock heatsync is fine as long as you don't overclock your CPU. But you won't have too if you don't want too because this CPU can run anything you want with little effort. Unless you can get liquid cooling for free like I did from iBuypower, then don't bother.

@TheOregonRedneck alright then good for you. but try using RealTemp, or CoreTemp. Speefan tends to uderscore the heat alot. i have an i7 build, and using the stock i was getting 70C +, and when i looked at the speed fan readings they were way off. so just double check to make sure. good luck

@TheOregonRedneck yeah you should be fine, but as you probably already have seen the temps are in the 70C. correct me if iam wrong. So 70C is kind of high, and may reduce the lifetime of the CPU. so i would get a third party cooler just in case.

It doesn't depend on the cooler entirely, also at the airflow of your case and how warm your room temp. would be when you over-clock.

Why Silverstone Raven 01?.. Raven 02 is alot better.. But both of them is very expensive and the cable management is very bad. If i were you i would buy a coolmaster haf 922 (i think its 922). Or a antec 900 or 1200

i advide you to find some pictures with a v8 on a mobo with the ram installed then you can see if it blocks or not. ( i think that it will block or get in the way of the dominator ram cause they have huge heatsinks)

SAS hard drives are the fastest HD's...they are the only ones that go to 15k rpm

i think it was an snser to weather the raptor working, as it should it is a regular SATA 2 HDD. SAS is not new at all servers and mainframes have been using it for a while, it has only just recently been made comonly available to the end user.

Depends on what project you have in mind

try to picture de entire thing, and find out

if either mobo gives you modding possibilities

you might need, like switching cooling heat

pipes, or satas position and little things, that

seems insignificant but then they might interfere with what you have in mind.

thats the same setup i got, but i have 6GB of Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600mhz ram. I couldnt afford everything the latest, i have currently with my system a 500GB SATA2 hard drive, X1950 Pro which i re-used, i did get a good power supply which is Antec 1000W modular. I have it all in a CM RC-690 case and i have single dvd burner. I love this computer so quick plays everything i want on my 24" screen mainly play BF2. But soon will get something like a GTX295 or the new R800 ati cards.
