  • At 1:17 under the red dot in black clothes it´s a Seraph flying by.

  • Op. 3 No.6

  • The song is Alexander Scriabin : Mazurka Op.6 No.3.

  • What song is this? Who is the artist?

  • 6 people are Justin Bieber fan.

  • This evening of choreographic miniatures Kasyan Goleizovsky. For Maximova he raised this number to Vassiliev "Narcissus" by Tcherepnin's music. Choreographer, there are two for lovers of ballet in Russia for the last 80 years - Lopukhov Goleizovsky, other casual owners. By the way -it composed Goleizovsky "girls"

  • My feet hurt just watching this...

  • @Katey912 - I was thinking the exact same thing!

  • She's dancing like a fairy...

  • I think all true lovers of ballet, it is clear that this is a masterpiece. Ballet plus music. Maksimova highly technical dancer, but Kasyan Goleizovsky created for her dancing, which is highly expressive, despite the complete lack of miracles, virtuosic technique. Since children play rain. So children should play the rain. So people should live.

  • How does she do that?!

I'm not very fond of ballet, but this is just absolutely stunning! I love it how her skirt (or whatever it's called) is a part of the dance - as if she's got wings.

  • I would like to know where this music came from.

Sounds like Chopin but I'm pretty sure it might not be.

  • I know it's by Scriabin, but I'm not sure which piece. :)

  • oh wow really!?? That would be incredibly interesting if it was Scriabin. Thanks for your help :). I recently purchased the complete piano works of scriabin played by a pianist I've never heard of. Perhaps I will give his Mazurkas a listen and see if I can't come across it. I thought only Chopin was allowed to get away with this type of music on piano.

The world is always bringing me new things.

awhaw! Scriabin: Mazurka, No.6 C sharp minor, Scherzando.

    Many thanks friend :)!

  • According to wikipedia, Scriabin's early compositions were quite similar to Chopin in style. :) You're welcome!

  • @ChrisWatch

None of Chopin's Mazurka's were meant to be danced to, so I doubt it.

  • Do you believe in faeries? I do, knowing that Katya was one. :) Dear Katya, you are missed every day!

  • sembra una fatina, e quando cammina indietro è magica

  • She looks like Tinker. <3

    She's so lovely....

  • From which ballet is this?

  • tak lekki i pełen wdzięku, jak chochlik lub kolibrów. moje szczere uznanie.

  • oj, umarla ! ; born 1er février 1939 à Moscou[1] et morte/died le 28 avril 2009, a Moscou so aged of 70 - here little girl.

  • kaj me najde mene pecako da mu baram bas jas za mazurka :S

  • enchantress of the dance; petite, beautiful, dynamic, charming, gracious, spirited.....she shared these gifts with those who love the beauty of dance and for that I am grateful...RIP

  • RIP Ekaterina! We will all miss your beautiful dancing.

  • . . .

  • You look at this, and a person might be like 'nothing spectacular'; but then you realiz that ballerinas or probably the most physically fit--and underrated--athletes out there. Can you imagine how much strength it takes to move that lightly?

  • inspiring!!!! beautiful!!!

  • It is difficult to imagine how the human body can do such beautiful, difficult things. Excellent.

    Ron

  • I loooooove this dance!

  • Can't u do u something better u f*cking troll?

  • This is my favourite ballet dancer, ever! before it was zenaida yanowsky (that's why i'm balletzenaida) but now she's the third xD

  • brava

  • Maximova magic.

  • This woman makes a butterfly look clumsy. I've changed my mind about ballet. I landed here looking for mazurkas, but this is truly divine. Anyone know what year this was taped?

  • According to the credits on the DVD, it was 1972

  • @nauort23 I have heard 1972?

  • Everything but the costume is wonderful. :S

I would not have dressed her like that~!

  • INCREIBLE!!!

  • Oh, and another thing to add. The music is wonderful :)

  • She is the epitome of a ballerina.

From a subtle gesture to a technical marvel - every movement she makes is absolute perfection.

THIS is ballet, and not the things we see nowadays on stage (with exceptions, respectively).

I suppose there can only be one Yekaterina Maximova...

  • Fairy, if I dare ask, would you marry me?

  • it is from the ballet coppelia by leo delibes.

  • It isn't, the music is by Scriabin, and this dance is certainly not in Coppélia.

  • Can you please tell me which Scriabin piece this is?

  • I think it is his Mazurka Op.3 No.1

  • Thanks. It is Opus 3 but number 6.

  • Haha okay, thanks for the correction.

  • Haha, thanks for the opus!

  • nothing to do with today's rubbish (Volochkova)

  • so cute.

  • By the way, does anyone know which ballet this is from? It's so stunning...

  • Wow. I always doubted the existence of fairies and the like, but that's proof if I've ever seen it.

  • Do you believe in fairies? I've just saw one! (=

  • oh gosh, i love maximova. she's just so captivating:-)

  • nice mazurka

  • a dancing fairy, i lvoed watching this!

  • She dance ballet!

  • This is like candy.

  • simply magic
