I have a problem with this instalation - after choosing the language an clicking on the Next-button, the Blackberry sign appears and nothing more happens. It's not downloading or redirecting to somewhere else..just the sign Blackberry. Why is that and how can I download another way facebook for BB Curve 8520? Thank you
@shadowmaster1995 Yes you need a data plan to access any Internet based services on a Blackberry device. The data plan provisions your phone for access to RIM servers.
@lilmizzswagification First of all check you have an active Blackberry data plan on your account. This is needed to use any internet based services on the phone. Next check the settings. If you are on the O2 network this video may help > o2guru#tv/25oo (Swap the # symbol for a dot . then copy and paste in your browsers address bar)
Hi! Could you please help me? I used to have Facebook on my Blackberry curve and now I wanted to replace it with Facebook 1.9. After downloading it says : The device has to reboot in order to download. It gets rebooted and afterward I open downloads and Facebook is not there! I have done it a million of times!!!! `Nothing :(
@anakrilova What software are you running on the Blackberry? You can check this by going to Menu > Options > About. Facebook will only run on devices with OS5 and above.
@AndreRomanB Check the software on your device. Facebook is only compatible with OS5 and above. You can check your software by going to Menu > Options > About.
How long should it take to load? on the video, the loading is quick, at 0.53 part of the video on my blackberry it is taking a long time, is this normal, please answer this :)
@O2GuruTV I know you showed it on the video but when I go down it doesn't say download for curve please give me a link for it I don't want v 2.0 I want v 1.9
@EsCo72000 Here's a link > bit#ly/cRDc7E (Swap the # symbol for a dot . ) It's for version 2.0.0.58. Your Blackberry software must also be on OS5 or above as Facebook is not compatible with anything below this.
i have problem ,,,in my browser , theres no "download facebook for your curve" .. what shud i do ?? im hoping u cud reply me as soon as possible. :) thankYou .
@ztahfehcid Check the software on your phone. You can do this by going to Menu > Options > About. Facebook only works on handsets running OS5 and above. Are you on OS5?
I have problem i do the same as it says but when i came to 1:32 at this video says: you are not currently on a serviuce plan that does not support this application. if you want to use this application please contatct your service provider to upgrade your data plan
@bodeteto1 Do you have an active Blackberry data plan on your account? This is needed to access and use any internet based services on the device. Also check the software on your device as Facebook is only compatible with handsets with OS5 and above.
@bodeteto1 Download Blackberry Desktop Manager. This video will show you how > o2guru#tv/25yu (Swap the # symbol for a dot . ) Then link the device into your computer and update from there. You can also download the new software direct from the Blackberry website too.
Is it possible to set fb to only see posts by friends? I have unsubscribed to friends that constantly play games on computer but when i try to read news feeds via blackberry i have a million posts with games and stupid what nots i'm not interested in.... Ho do i set it for only posts by friends?
@rskiles411 You won't be able to do this via Facebook on your mobile but you can change preferences for this via Facebook online. Open Facebook on your PC/Laptop, load up your news feed. When you see a status update you want to hide click the arrow at the top right side of the update and select to hide post. You will be asked if you want to hide all from either that person or the game. Make your selection. This is will now save and prevent similar messages popping up in the future.
Heyy I installed and it said "You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want to use this application, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan." Can you help please?
@Zahraalala and @GorgeousHairByMoknia Are you both on an active Blackberry data plan? You need this to access any internet based services on a Blackberry device. Most network providers have Blackberry enabled tariffs or add on's that can provision your account for Blackberry services.
@jordoshuffla4life Hi there, have you had any success with this yet? Can you remove it and try to download it again? Also take the battery out whilst the phone is on and start it back up please?
Do you type in your own Email+Pass If you already have a facebook?
And
it says You are currently on a service plan dose not support this application pleease connect to a WI-FI network or contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan
@XxXxStarla Once you've got the app on your phone you would sign in with your usual email and password for facebook. Hmm sounds like your not set up on a Blackberry plan. Are you able to use BBM and surf the web when not connected to a wifi?
@XxXxStarla So you do definitely have a Blackberry data plan? Check the software version on your phone. Facebook only works on OS5 and above. You can check your software by going to Menu > Options > About.
@justinbieberbbexxx Hi there, have you tried the steps below? " First of all try a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while it is on. After 5 minutes replace the battery and test. Check your settings on the phone and also check you are using a valid Blackberry data plan on your mobile account. Are you able to download any other apps?"
@aufreizend12 First of all try a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while it is on. After 5 minutes replace the battery and test. Check your settings on the phone and also check you are using a valid Blackberry data plan on your mobile account. Are you able to download any other apps?
@PonyNamedBob The app itself is free. Any data used to connect and download Facebook would be taken from your data allowance if you have one or charged at standard rates.
@killer858100 Check the software running on your device. You can do this by going to Menu > Options > About. Facebook only runs on OS5 and above. You may need to update?
@VodkaHawk You can update the software via the Blackberry website but without a data plan you won't be able to access any internet based services on the Blackberry.
@EsCo72000 What software are you running on the device? You can check this by going to Menu > Options > About. Facebook is only compatible with OS5 and above.
@MissHeavymetalfan and @kinselator1 Check that you have an active Blackberry data plan on your mobile account. This is needed to access any internet based services on a Blackberry. @SupermidgetXD Do you have a Blackberry Data plan on your account? This is needed for access to the Blackberry servers. If you are with O2UK you can check this via My O2 online or our Customer Service team would be happy to check it out for you.
@homeandaway09xx Check both the downloads folder and the applications folder. Also check which software you are running as the Facebook app is only compatible with OS5 and above. Try a battery pull. @XPrototype96 Are you able to access the internet at all? Try a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while it's on. After 5 mins replace the battery and test. Make any difference?
@O2GuruTV i think its because of my tariff or something so im gonna get a different one cuz i cant connect to the internet while im not in range of my wi-fi box but thanks anyway.
@XPrototype96 That could be the issue. You do need a Blackberry Data plan to access any internet based services via the mobile web. I hope a tariff change resolves it for you. :)
@O2GuruTV hi, 2 days ago i went to an o2 shop and changed my tarrif, i got topped up just after, the person that did it for me said the internet would be working within 1 day but it is 2 days later and it still isn't working, i can still connect via wi-fi but when i turn the wi-fi of it doesnt connect and ive changed the browser from the "hotspot" option but it doesn't work and it doesn't work on the "o2 network option".
@XPrototype96 Are you using the Blackberry 8520? Try downloading new service books. To do this Press the BlackBerry menu key > Select ‘Options’ > Select ‘Advance Options’ > Select ‘Host Routing Table’ > Press BlackBerry menu key and select ‘Register Now’. Make any difference?
@LukeCullen123abc456 OS5 is Operating System 5. You can check the software version on your handset by going to Menu > Options > About. It needs to be above 5.0.0.592 to be compatible.
@inwoodog This video > o2guru#tv/25op (Swap the # symbol for a dot . ) shows how to download and delete apps from the Blackberry 8520. Try the steps shown at the end. Does this remove it for you?
@01gjergji01@BestReb85 and @Czinczin18 > Check out this Blackberry support link > bit#ly/jakFIK (Swap the # symbol for a dot . ) It will list all the possible causes for this issue. Hope this helps. :)
@itzjess10 Depends on your tariff and data plan. Using Facebook will use mobile data. This would be taken from your allowance if you have one or charged at standard rates.
@MrPromisingone Facebook is only supported on devices that run OS5 and above. You may need to update your phone. To check your software go to Menu > Options > About.
@NotToBeForGottenX Do you have a Blackberry data plan on your account? What software are you running on the device? The Facebook app is only compatible with OS5 and above. You can check your software by going to Menu - Options - About.
Im having problem when downloading facebook app for my blackberry curve 8520. Everytime I try to download it, it says that my phone's not supported by facebook application. I can't figure out the reason and it's getting in my nerves!
My blackberry is OS 4.6. Im not sure if it has something to do why i can't download fb app. Please help me!
@TheTwinkleFairy It's due to your software. The Facebook app is only compatible on OS 5 and above. You can download the latest software version for your device via the Blackberry website. More info here > bit#ly/6zrXnZ (Swap the # symbol for a dot .)
@XxWilzOxX Are you able to go any further in the set up? Try performing a battery pull. (Remove the battery while the phone is on.) After 3-4 mins place the battery back in and turn on. Attempt the download again. Do you know what software version you are using? You can check this back going to Menu - Options - About.
when I click I accept it comes up with a notice saying "You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want to use this application, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan." :(
@LittleMissToontown Sounds like you may not have a Blackberry data plan on your account. This is needed to access any internet services on a Blackberry device. If you are on O2 UK you can check this via My O2 online or our CS team can check your account for you.
@Kilbo65 BBM requires a data connection. If you have an inclusive data bundle the usage would be taken from there. If you don't have an allowance then standard charges would apply.
Downloads seem extremely quick with Blackberry. Pretty cool :D But my question. Can app downloads save to memory card, and if so, do they take up much space. Thanks :)
@TheLittleEpicGamer When an App is download it is stored to the phones memory as default. There is an app that can be downloaded which allows to save your apps to memory card. It's called Aerize Card Loader. As for the app size, it depends on what you are downloading. Hope this helps. :)
@Cocopopsxoxo Try performing a battery pull. (Remove the battery from the device while it is on) After 3-4 mins place the battery back in and turn back on. Check your software on the device. (Go to Menu - Options - About) The latest version of software for the 8520 is 5.0.0.681 Platform 5.2.0.67. Is yours up to date? When downloading are you connected to the mobile web or Wi-Fi? Have you tried both? Do you have the same issue on both types of connection?
@Carobbz You need to have an active Blackberry data plan on your account to access the internet and use applications on the device. If you are on O2 you can check this on our website under My O2. Alternatively you can call our CS team who will be happy to check your plan for you.
How do you get it so when a contact rings you, their facebook photo will appear? my friend has it on his but he is completly useless and hasnt a clue how he did it. have you any idea?
I have followed all the instructions but the application for FB is not accepting my sign-in and passowrd saying it is a mis-match? I tsays about case sensitivity but I have used the correct features to use caps/alt key for numbers etc and tried it on my memo pad again to double check I was ewntering it correctly. Cant seem to get pass the sing-in page. What do I do??
@seemeekhan Actually I decided to log-in on the PC and changed my password as I was having so much difficulty with caps/alt key on my blackberry and password recognition, so my own advice has finally worked!! Would you have advised the same thing I wonder?
@seemeekhan We probably would have recommended signing into Facebook from a computer to test your username and password before resetting it but glad to hear you managed to resolve the issue by yourself. :)
@Kilbo65 BBM usage is taken from your data allowance. So this would really depend on your tariff and allowances you have. All O2 tariffs and prices can be found here - o2#co#uk/tariffs/ (Swap the # symbols for dots . )
@SalmonRobert Have you checked both the downloads and applications folders? Try a battery pull. (Remove the battery from the device while it is powered on) Also check your software. Facebook only runs on OS5 and above. This video will show how to check your software - o2guru#tv/259s (Swap the # for a dot . )
@tubekoma What software is your handset running? You can check this by going to Menu - Options - About. The Facebook app will only run on OS5 and above.
@tubekoma Yes. Link your device up to your PC/Laptop at home and update your software through Blackberry support. For more information check out this link - uk#blackberry#com/services/devices/ (Swap the # symbols for dots .)
@1Sniper101 Try performing a battery pull. (Remove the battery from the device while it is powered on) Once the handset is back on connect to WiFi and test your connection by browsing a few pages on the net. Once connection is confirmed try downloading the app again.
Hi, when i downloaded my facebook app i downloaded it and it said reboot or later , i said reboot and it turned off and back on but when i click into my facebook app it says the service plan or something?

@SuperPaTHD Have you checked both your downloads folder and the Applications folder? Try a battery pull. (Remove the battery from the device while it's powered on). Then try to download the app again.
@josephkb214 Check your Blackberry software is up to date. Facebook only runs on devices with OS5 and above. You can check your software by going to Menu - Options - About.
@O2GuruTV i am having problems with downloading the facebook app for blackberry curve 8520. When i go to the page where they say choose the language, no languages come up and when click next they say that my device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Facebook. i need help quick.
@mo19941 Try deleting the app from the handset then perform a battery pull. (Remove the battery while the phone is powered on). Once the device is back on try downloading the app again. Also check the software that's running on the device. You can view this by going to Menu - Options - About. The new version of Facebook only runs on handsets with OS5 and above.
@laurull1 Have you checked both the apps folder and the downloads folder? Did the download show as successful? Try performing a battery pull (Remove the battery while the device is powered on) and try to download the app again.
@MrCrampton94 The app is not chargeable. Any usage of the app would be included in your data plan if you have one. You can check your plan online on My O2 or our customer service team and check it for you.
I cant use it on my curve :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((
"You are currently on a service plan that does not support this app. If you want to use this app, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan." What should I do??? :((( please someone help me!!!!!
@TheAwie95 Are you on a Blackberry Data plan? This is something that is either included or can be added to your mobile phones tariff. You can check your tariff and bolt on's through My O2 on our website or our customer service team can check your account for you.

XPrototype96 2 months ago
@XPrototype96 Are you using the Blackberry 8520? Try downloading new service books. To do this Press the BlackBerry menu key > Select ‘Options’ > Select ‘Advance Options’ > Select ‘Host Routing Table’ > Press BlackBerry menu key and select ‘Register Now’. Make any difference?

Does it cost money to go on it once you have downloaded it?
itzjess10 3 months ago
@itzjess10 Depends on your tariff and data plan. Using Facebook will use mobile data. This would be taken from your allowance if you have one or charged at standard rates.

Downloads seem extremely quick with Blackberry. Pretty cool :D But my question. Can app downloads save to memory card, and if so, do they take up much space. Thanks :)
TheLittleEpicGamer 5 months ago
@TheLittleEpicGamer When an App is download it is stored to the phones memory as default. There is an app that can be downloaded which allows to save your apps to memory card. It's called Aerize Card Loader. As for the app size, it depends on what you are downloading. Hope this helps. :)
