  • What cord do you need to hook the monitor to an xbox? I have an HD VGA Audio Video AV cable, but the part that you plug into the monitor doesn't fit into any the ports?

  • is there on the monitor itself?

  • i have a toshiba flatscreen. its nice. can i play xbox games on my computer tower? or doi have to buy the xbox?

  • @purplebravery10 buy the PC version of the xbox games ;)

  • TV is also thanks

  • To all people worried about sound. Sound ONLY works when you use the HDMI port on the monitor. You can use a " optical cable " for digital sound, & / or plug in headphones to the headphone jack on the monitor itself. Example: I have my Astro A40's & Mixamp plug straight into the monitor. Anything connected via HDMI I will get sound to my headphones. If your speakers same deal.

  • @cockalizer USE AV MODE for everything that " IS NOT " PC example: ( console systems ) and for no stretching in AV mode go to setting and put on FIT TO SCREEN no more stretch pic. PC Mode is only really post to be use for a real PC. That's if your connected using HDMI to your PC. Using DVI or VGA AV mode is NOT available.

  • @tlegowo I have this monitor to, just wanted to know what color setting do you have it on.

  • So could I plug my Turtle Beach PX21's with it?

  • Can i use my headphones with it ?.

  • @MrPtySieQ yes you can, there is a 3.5mm audio jack behind it, but you need to both audio and video input through hdmi to the monitor.

  • which monitor is better? XL2370 or PX2370??

  • Is it a playstation fat or slim ??? because my ps3 fat don t work with this screen...

  • @Camorra7 are you using hdmi? if so, try holding down the power button for like 10 seconds. it resets the video settings or something. worked for me.

  • Hey dude my problem is when I'm using Xbox 360 some things at the main menu are blurry. (Like Game Marketplace writing, My Xbox writing etc.) Why do you think this is happening?

  • @TheLOLzilla go to system settings > video settings and change the resolution to 1920x1080

  • What's the max viewing distance for consol gaming, on a 23 inch monitor? is a monitor of that size large enough for +/- 2 meters?

  • @fredfedet You have sit 4.7 feet away from the monitor for best viewing. (Note: This is specific for the 23" monitor you specified.)

  • Well, look at that, it IS possible to tilt this screen :D

I've been to scared that the screen whould crack until now when I saw this video.

But it do sound like the screen is going to crack at any moment when I'm tilting it.

    PS.

You didn't mention that the menu buttons can be set to be always on.

  • Where did you get that sweet background?

  • @oFR33Ko Windows Vista DreamScene pack, it is available if you have Vista Ultimate I believe.

  • Hey, if I connect a ps3 (hdmi) to this monitor, will any speakers work to get sound?

  • @RunescapePKing as long as the speakers has the 3.5mm audio input

  • I'm going to buy this monitor....your opinion whit 360???

  • @tlegowo I thought of buying this , but it only has 1 hdmi port and I wanted to connect my ps3 and computer to the monitor. I though I should connect ps3 trough hdmi cable and monitor trough dvi-hdmi cabel. Is there any difference in quality between these to cables , and how did you connected them? I hope you understand what i mean.

  • @badbong right now i'm just using the monitor for pc, i use the hdmi port, i tried dvi too, can't tell the difference, they are both digital so i don't think there will be any difference in signal quality

  • @badbong

    Only difference is black level.

  • is the blue circle power light to the far right sharp or excessively bright?

It doesn't look too big from the video, but in person, can that light be annnoying and distracting? cause these are some problems that annoy me and i prefer the least amount of power light from an LCD monitor.

  • @BIGDADDYF50 no, and it is very small about 4mm in diameter

  • i have the same problem as @Googashlak the graphic is blurry and look like it 480 not 720(HDMI PORT)

  • Oh nvm I see that it has been answered already.

  • Hello guys I got a really noob question here. Where does the audio from the ps3 come when it is connected to the monitor if it has no speakers?

  • I was wondering how you think this monitor compares to the new bx2450? I've heard the xl actually looks better.

Also, how do you think it holds up to the apple cinema displays? The apple ones look amazing but the 27" is $1000 which is just ridiculous...

  • ohai

one question, im using xbox 360 with VGA Cable of Microsoft.

Do u know if my xbox works good with this TFT if i use a conversor vga to dvi?

And the quality will be the same?

    thxs, nice review

  • Hello tlegowo, what videocard do you have? I'm interested in acquire this monitor but I heard that it has troubles when it's displaying a full blank image... differents brightness areas at top and bottom... Have you had the same problem? Thanks in advance.

  • @rcdlrp I'm still using an old video card hehe, upgrading soon hopefully. Currently using the GeForce 8800GTS card. I don't have the same problem when the background image is plain black and nothing else. Anyone else had this problem? please leave your comment here! THanks.

  • @ClassicSlayer Yes there is a 3.5mm audio output jack and you can plug in your headphones there

  • Hi. I know that on the PS3, this monitor can display games at 1080p. For games that are not 1080p and only go up to 720p, does this monitor scale them very well? Cause most games that are 720p on a 1080p display end up looking blurry or stretched out so I wanted to know if that's the case for this monitor as well. Thanks.

  • @Googashlak it looked fine to me. Keep in mind that this monitor is 23 inch and for you to be able to see pixelated or blurry image, you need to be real close to it. Probably less than half a metre...

  • @Googashlak I use this monitor since 1 year now with my ps3 and every game I played on it looked very nice, even the 720p like assassins creed 2 which scales up to 1080p looks nice on it, nothin blurry nor pixelated.

Only negative point is the stand which is a bit unstable, but this isn't really a problem unless you hit the monitor every 2 minutes or live in San Francisco.

Also I don't have the buttons disappearing after 5 seconds like in this vid

  • does this monitor has any scale feature or something like this? lets say i need to run something in 1024 x 768 I wish it could get the rest of the screen black and use the 1024 x 768

  • @carlosroberto366 no it does not, everybody else please correct me if this is incorrect.

  • @tlegowo So I have the XL2370, a PS3, and external speakers. My PS3 is connected to my monitor via HDMI cable. Problem is, either the monitor or PS3 is not outputing sound. How can i solve this problem? is there a certain output format that i need to set on the PS3?

  • @09ryario on the PS3 sound output setting, make sure that you set the output to HDMI and accept other default settings. and i suppose you have the audio cable with 3.5mm input from your monitor to the external speakers?

  • What? I can't make out half of wtf you're saying :/

  • the external speaker for playing on xbox itz need hifi speaker?cause i using samsung b2430 play xbox360...but the sound so small...

  • @cooldex1119 this monitor does not have speakers built in, yes you need an external speaker set and connect it using either 3.5mm audio or TOSLINK optical. But remember the only way to get sound out of the monitor is to get the monitor receiving sound input through HDMI

  • theres a similar version called the XL2370HD which has component and scart jacks aswell as coxial for satelite TV. Im guessing it is very similar to this in most ways, im a little concerned however what standard definition would look like on a monitor with such high resolution. has anyone tried this? connecting a PS2 or Wii is what i have in mind.

  • thats a kick ass wallpaper, I want one too!

  • @LOLMAN22 that's part of windows vista's windows dreamscene content. I made a video tutorial on how to activate it you have windows vista. I think you need at least home premium windows vista, not 100% sure. I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate.

  • refresh level????

  • @ussike30 it's the camera, this screen is really bright

  • Im thinking of buying this for my xbox 360 but I had 1 question... I didn't understand, does the monitor have built in speakers or not? Please respond! -JD

  • @hipsterdufus12 no it doesn't

  • @hipsterdufus12 no it does not have built in speakers. you have to connect it via optical or and aux cable

  • when you connected the xbox do you just connect it via hdmi and get sound aswell or do you need external speakers??

  • @emirates259 you do need external speakers as this monitor does not have built in speakers

  • Comment removed

  • @tlegowo Um I'm sorry but I'm new at this. So what type of external speaker to use? Just the normal type that you hook up with your PC? Oh and connect it to the monitor or PS3? Thanks a lot!

  • @techin123 you need speakers that either accept input through 3.5mm audio connection or TOSLINK optical connection. However the monitor need to also output sound and to do this, you need the audio signal to be fed to the monitor through the HDMI connection from your source such as PS3.

  • @techin123 You should look into the Logitech X540 5.1 surround sound system which is very good and it cost under $100 U.S.. I own the same monitor and have the surround sound system and it all works so good together.

  • what about eye strain with this monitor? is good to edit photos and videos?

  • iam getting the same monitor and i want to know how did you connect it to your speakers. I mean what cables you needed and anything else

  • How did you set this up? i'm having problems switching the screen to the HDMI input.

  • You really need a PC to get the best picture out of these monitors...

  • whats the refresh rate of this monitor? is it more than 60? :S

  • @veiledvulture only 60?!!! so ghosting still in the games?

  • Hey mate I gotta a question, I have the same monitor Im thinking on buyin a ps3 but will the games look the same as a HDTV?

  • What do you say at 3:27 ? not as good as?..

  • How did you tilt this? I'm a heavy handed guy and usually break stuff with enough force. Is there a latch I need to release to make it slack?

  • @Ryan13489 Type this in the search field (youtube ofc)

    " LCD LED Display Samsung XL2370 - Fliping.wmv "

  • @Vicce82 Thanks pal, managed to get it working. I can sit a lot more comfortably now.

  • @Ryan13489 no probs dude :D

  • @Ryan13489 one hand hold the stand down, the other hand grip the bottom bezel in the centre and gently tilt. See if it works for you.

  • call of duty 5 Modern warfare =D

  • hi i dont know ,but my osd doesnt work , i have installed magic tune

  • Hey do u know why my ps3 resolution keeps going down when i start playin any game ,from 1920x1080 to 1280x720? I'm using hdmi on a samsung led full hd tv, and i know that some games as red dead redemption run at 720p or something less, but for example, skate 3, fifa 10, uncharted 2... which say on the info that can run 1080p, they seem to be running at 1280x720.

  • @furbyunicejafisher This is to do with the Playstation not the monitor. The Playstation relies on the publisher of games to include their own up-scaling software, usually they don't bother, the only game coming to mind at the moment is MGS4 which was native 720p and it up-scaled to 1080p. The Xbox always up-scales games to 1080p as it has its own piece of hardware that does this for publishers. It will do it for every game without fail.

  • how to you go about using speakers with this monitor ?

Does you laptop or desktop Need hdmi for this ?

  • @mmw21111 yes, you need to connect to your monitor using hdmi from your computer. make sure audio signal also goes through the hdmi connection. I haven't actually set this up with my comp as it doesn't have hdmi. I did use it for xbox and ps3 and can use the 3.5mm audio output or optical output for the speakers

  • can i have this kind of background with Windows 7

  • @Stevens8666 I have actually just found out that windows 7 has a "desktop slideshow" instead. so you can have a set of wallpapers that switches after a certain period of time. However, I have seen people posting hacks to enable the dreamscene content on windows 7

  • @tlegowo wat are ur full settings for xbox 360...

  • hey, I really need to ask this: what about the eye strain with this monitor? I work with audio all day with small icons and texts, I have a samsung syncmaster of 17", a old one and I have eye strain easily. I turn down the bright and I have even a CRT protector on it, so Im worried about because I have very sensible eyes. Tell me your experience with this monitor and how it works with eyes in long sesions!, share all the info you can. Thank you!

  • @Tritono9 as long as you have enough ambient lighting around, that should be fine. At nights, if the room's lighting is not enough, this monitor can be too bright for me. Keep in mind that this kind of newer LED backlit LCD panels are brighter than the conventionally backlit LCD

  • how do u make the background animated

  • @mcdudly00 im using windows vista, and there is a windows dreamscene package as part of windows update that you can apply. That has a collection of animated clips to be used background. I believe Windows 7 have similar package available

  • @mcdudly00 Windows dreamscene content windows vista

  • Hi, Im looking forward to buying this monitor. But I have a question I would like you to answer. I dont know a lot about computer, so this is why Im asking the question. So, is it possible to have a DVI cable plugged in (for my xbox360) and the regular power cable for the PC plugged in at the same time? If so, how do I change from PC to the console?

    Thanks.

  • @TheBelgianRampage You can buy a DVI to HDMI cable or HDMI to HDMI cable. Either way, you need to connect HDMI to your xbox360 and you can connect HDMI or DVI to the Monitor. If your monitor's HDMI is already occupied by the xbox, then you can use the DVI port to connect to your PC. There are DVI to VGA or DVI to DVI cable as well. You can then switch between the xbox and pc. hope that makes sense

  • @tlegowo Yes it makes sence, thanks a lot for answering me!

  • Quick questions. First off, I noticed you mentioned that you outputted the audio jack to your logitech speakers. Does the XL2370 include any way to use headphones on the screen. How would I use headphones on the Samsung?

Also, Samsung just came out recently with the PX2370, a newer version to the XL. What are your thoughts on that?

  • @krishna830 As long as you are using hdmi from your source that also outputs sound through the hdmi connection, you should be able to use 3.5mm audio output to connect your headphones to.

From what I have seen n heard, PX2370 is just a newer XL2370 with some improvements such as viewing angle and some extra settings to it. However it has lower max brightness than XL2370 and wobblier stand and its buttons are hidden on the side. It is more power efficient than the XL.

  • @tlegowo Thanks for the advice, the PX2370 seems unnecessarily expensive. I'm glad that as long as I use HDMI (which I plan to connect from ps3 to monitor) I can use any 3.5mm jack to get sound.

I was also contemplating between the P2370H and the XL2370. One is LCD and one is LED, and the price difference is 100 dollars. They have all the same features otherwise. Any thoughts?

  • Is this your permanent monitor, or did you switch to the Dell? Which is better? Does it work well? Does it look nice, the screen that is.

  • @DoctorRamen It still is. Overall I prefer the Samsung over the Dell. Both are similarly priced with respect to the size. To me, the Samsung has a bit better build quality. However, the Dell is still a very good monitor with nice contrast and colours. If you are to select between the two, I think one aspect that may sway you from one to the other, is that the Dell monitor has lots of inputs available as well as USB and card reader. It is also 1inch larger.

  • @tlegowo I don't need many features on the monitor itself, as long as it is crisp and vivid. Thanks for the information. I think I'm going with the XL2370-1.

  • @DoctorRamen no problem, hope you like the monitor

  • @tlegowo Sorry for bothering, but are the colors vivid and sharp on the Samsung? Would it be better then my MacBook monitor?

  • @DoctorRamen yes to me the colours are great. It is a really bright monitor too. I don't own a macbook but I have seen the LED backlit screen on those macbook pros. I think they are more or less similar but the macbook's screen is too glossy for me.

  • Can anyone give me some good settings for this when hooked up to the xbox 360? it would be really appreciated cheers

  • isn't the stand too high, you gotta look up to see?

  • @Reiketsu no, actually it isn't. The stand isn't height adjustable and it is only 6cm between the lower bottom bezel of the monitor to the base of the stand. about 10 cm between the bottom part of the viewable screen area to the base of the stand

  • Hey dude can you please give me the CD drivers from XL2370 please, I lost my freaking CD and I need all the drivers that were linked on the CD.

  • thanks tlegowo- good job on the review.

  • Full HD LED ?

  • @h0tstepp3r Yes

  • hi i have a question: can you connect your computer speaker to the xl2370 monitor for like playing ps3?

  • @HAZ316 yes, either using the 3.5mm audio jack for analog signal or using the optical input for digital audio signal. This depends what your computer speaker can use. Make sure you use HDMI to connect to your PS3 though so the audio signal can go through the monitor.

  • its actually all of duty world at war :D

  • @krackherback indeed hehehe, that's why I edited the video with an annotation mentioning the correct game name.

  • nice monitor but you hook it up to a bloody xbox!? Get a proper pc gaming setup!

  • @thegman2 it's for my PC. only hooked it up to xbox for review purposes

  • I dont like it, just because it has too much resolution, playing pc games in 1080P, i lose more than 30fps, and my 360 most of the games look bad in 1080p, because most of console games are 720P.

I prefer something around 720P, because if it has the same specs as this mon. the games will look the same, and all 360/ps3 will look good, and also any pc game will look exactly like any game in 1080P.

The secret is to always use the game with the full resolution of the screen...

  • Is this monitor in 16:9?

  • @FluminenseBresciano yes with 1920x1080 resolution

  • I'm seriously thinking about buying this monitor, and I have only 1 question to people who own it:

Is it too bright? - and I mean, even after calibrations and everything, is it still too bright?

  • @elad135 I guess depends on your likings, my living room where I have my monitor is rather dim with yellow-ish lighting. So at night, the monitor feels much brighter than my previous LCD. But this is expected since many articles mention how LCD monitors with LED backlighting are much brighter than their CCFL counterparts. Sometime when my eyes are tired, I actually put the brightness to zero and it is still bright enough.

  • @tlegowo Thanks for your reply. All I wanna know now is if you are still happy with the monitor, and if you would buy the same screen again or would you consider some different model?

  • @elad135 I'm very happy with this monitor, first Samsung product I have ever bought, no issue, looks good and performs well. However, my perspective towards gadgets is that I don't want to and so far have never bought the same thing twice. So I will consider newer model if I were to buy another screen simply to try new things and tech.

  • @tlegowo Thanks again. Just bought it today. Really happy with it!

  • @elad135 no problem, glad you're happy with it.

  • @elad135 I wanna buy one too. Is it really worth the money? :D

  • @WiredDrummer

Most definitely! This monitor with 1920x1080p 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio 2 ms response time 23" LED monitor has picture quality that you find in $2000 TVs.

  • @DoNultima

    Thanks man!

  • Whats the best configuration settings you can give me, to have the best image quality? on console and on pc.

  • @sloan785 I'm using that MagicTune Premium software that came with the monitor and set the MagicColor on the monitor to "Intelligent". Can't really remember what I used when playing with the xbox or the ps3 though. Maybe other users can provide their input

  • does this monitor have built-in speakers ?

  • where you got this wallapaper Please tell me ?thanks

  • @killer4oto98 Windows DreamScene content as part of windows vista ultimate extras update

  • I couldn't hear correctly, you said you were using the Logitech Z550D w/ optical input? I can't seem to find anything on the internet. Could you suggest a decent pair of speakers with optical input?

  • @MassihSediq Logitech z5500D, not 550D. It is a 5.1 sound system with optical input, coax digital, and 6 channel direct input.

  • @tlegowo I see, thanks for the reply.

  • Did you had any problems with the PS3 usage? I want to buy this monitor too for PS3. And what is your overall opinion on the monitor so far, assuming that you are still using it?

  • @dIsAstErTR I don't use it that much since I prefer to use my tv for the PS3. So far there is no issue with it. I'm still using the monitor mainly for my desktop and it has been great so far and no issue with the unit either.

  • @tlegowo Thanks for the answer.

  • I just recently got my new Samsung XL2370 but I'm experiencing problems right away. I cant seem to get my Playstation 3 to work with the monitor. I hook up my HDMI cable and speakers, yet the monitor seems to not be able to respond. I've tested it as a PC monitor and it works fine, but the only reason i bought this monitor was for PS3 usage, Please if anyone has experienced the same problem or knows what to do in this situation I'd much appreciate some help.

  • @Darvas09 hey, I didn't needed it, it worked fine on the first try... but

did you try to turn it on by pressing the turn on button for 7-10 seconds, and than it Automatically adjusts the ps3 to the monitor

  • I have it, I love it, I plug it to the computer via DVI, and my ps3 near it plug via HDMI.

  • what about Response Time ? does it lag? thx

  • @truedark10 not that I know of

  • The reponse time is 2m/s

  • I think this guy is drunk.

  • Does the optical out from the monitor, support DD/DTS true HD ?

  • not sure, the manual didn't say and I don't have audio system that supports Dolby True HD to test it with

  • yes

  • Nice vid!! what its this for a background ?? i love it :-)

  • @samypatrick its part of the windows vista dreamscene pack, accessible via the windows update

  • Thank you!!

  • whats best settings for the ps3 for this monitor

  • whats the name of the first game

  • omg are u blind didn't u see its tom clancy's end war

  • Does your screen flicker when you switch inputs, from DVI to HDMI?

  • No, worked just fine for me

  • whats the walpaper its nice

  • It's the windows vista wallpaper part of Dreamscene pack that you can get from Windows Update

  • I read some feedback buy other people, telling that it sucks if used on PS3, cause it shows up-scaling problems (or something like that), but it seems like tlegowo didn't have any problems. I've got a PS3 slim and I'd buy it only if it was good with PS3...

  • I'm not sure about the PS3 Slim, I have the good old chunky PS3. It is using the latest firmware version, but I don't know the detailed spec differences, maybe PS3 Slim has different video processing...

  • Do you get any uniformity with it?

bleed at bottom cause brighter image at the bottom half of screen??

  • I haven't noticed it yet

  • THANKS bro ... is a contrast ratio really defer from this and of the LG XL2370 ??? 2 million and 5 million ? please reply

  • I personally havent seen the LG in the stores, but I think you won't be able to tell the difference. If you are checking both in stores, make sure you have them side by side, view it from the same angle, check out the video settings for both at the viewing time, also make sure both has roughly same amount of lighting on the area.

  • @tlegowo

    aha , thanks bro ...

do u got any problems with it ? viewing angles or other stuff ? ^^

  • I just found out the best setup for this monitor IMO just playing Xbox360. If you like rich vibrant colors.

In xbox display setup : Reference levels to Expanded.

    HDMI Color Space to RGB.

And on your XL2370 OSD Just use MagiColor Full, HDMI Black Level : Normal and Gamma Mode1, it wont add any lag or black crush or whatsoever and the colors are amazing for me. Try this.

  • Nice review!

    Thanks man.

  • How did you get the background

  • Go to Windows Vista's Desktop Background setting and it is one of the Windows DreamScene clip. The Dreamscene can be downloaded as a package as part of windows update for Vista
