Most Taiwanese people have nothing to do with the war. The majority of Taiwanese people came from China during the 16th Century and then they basically raped and killed the Aborigines there. Its kind of like how Europeans came over to America and raped and killed the Native Americans. Additionally, there is a Taiwanese dialect (like Mandarin and Cantonese) and with the emergence of simplified Chinese, the written language can by somewhat different. Also, China is communist, which is dumb.
Taiwaness is Chinese, this is correct. But whether China represents Chinese as a whole, that's not the case. Chinese is a race, not to represent a country. And we like to be known as Taiwaness ,so we can differentiate our self to the Chinese of China.
