The spill is closer to 43 million dollars per day and if you Watch my videos I have proved this using Fluid dynamics
Area times pressure = volume
and the volume at 500 psi is 43,000,000 gallons per day and every day since day one and that is the min pressure they have ever posted according to the original press releases.
A stopped leak means NO ADITIONAL WELLS, which will generate 100's of Billions, while buying time to salvage the busted well. There backwards thinking is guided by greed. They will cap it when they want to, unless we make them. They could use a large compression fitting and valve, but ther intrest is to recoup losses and get ahead of the red tape and investigation, a replacement well with an aditional bonus of two aditional wells, and TIME.
BP is a VICTIM of deregulation. Can you blame the guy? Cost of place pressure absorbing mud under Concrete Cap cost $ and delays production by 1-2 days wchich cost $ millions. The fine is only $75M max liability.
So everyone blame yourselves Greed is good and he played by the Capilist rules that his lobbyist bought and paid for.
Is this the only video? If so why??? How did they get down so fast to record the gas, this looks like it just started leaking right when they started recording....
We can get a man on the moon, break the speed of light, make nano machines, and take over 1 month to seal an oil leak the size of a mini van. Good bye 1/3? of the US fishing industry for 20-60 years.

@sentrynebri so instead of the pollution going into the air after being refined, purified, distilled, and burnt in efficient engines, it is going directly into the ocean.
Any of you have any solutions to cap this leak down there, so they could fix it and start back to business pumping oil...... no one!!!, just blah blah blah bullshit from all of you and blaming the president and the oil company. ha ha ha. i have one "HOME DEP POT" a large and very very heavy concrete bell with a release valve on top of the bell to connect the plumming from the oil rig.

the bp oil rig was bombed obamas Nazi Earth Liberation front pals who say humans is a plague on the earth. you can take your beloved fascist electric cars and shove them up your Anti Semite Democrat Socialist Anti Israel asses.
With all the alternatives for energy available there is no need for this! Just all greed. Hell, they've had electric cars since the '60's you mean to tell me that they can't perfect them and mass market them??! No, because oil is too much profit. Just kill off all the natural resources we need to survive, as long as you're getting rich.
Um, so tell m: where do you get the electricity for the electic cars? Wind? Solar? Hydroelectric? Biomass? Nuclear?
There just isn't enough of the other sources of energy, to sustain the earth's population. We are in a fix. And it isn't because we are using the wrong fuel. It is that our population grows to the capacity of the available energy sources.
What I'm saying is that there are enough other resources that we do not need to depend solely on oil - especially from these off shore wells that have the potential to cause so much devastation. Everyday there is sun and wind, are we not more able to make use of those? And when we already have places like the oil sands (which are still raping the earth) why do we need offshore?? Not justifiable.
@vibratingstring That depends on where you are living. If you are in Las Vegas, it is pretty much all from Hoover Dam. If you are living in certain other cities, it is more likely to be coal. So having an electric car would be more beneficial in some cities than in others.
@HemiChix The problem is that Reagan stopped ALL of the alternative energy programs that Carter started after the oil crisis. No more solar, wind and geothermal research, and all of the companies that were doing that research were bought up by Denmark and Japan, who are now world leaders in such technologies.
or, 1 Barrel = 5.61 cubic feet, = 0.159 cubic meters. So 70,000 barrels per day = over 11000 cubic meters. per day. At a specific gravity of a bit less than water, that is about 10000 metric tons of oil per day. Or 300,000 tons in a month. Just fr comparison purposes, that is the entire cargo from one verly large crude carrying ship.
Maybe a few boulders could slow it down? I think zero oil wells in Oceans is step one. (After this nightmare is shut down). Halliburton is involved. Texans could shut it down I bet. Didn't Limbaugh say he was leaving the Country? At least with Oberman and Maddow we get a little truth sometimes. Go Michael Moore.
Exon paid $0 in taxes. I bet BP paid comparable amount despite record profits. Congress subsidizes big oil, they suck our resources like vampires. When they make the mistake we pay the price.

Because in a clam shell, all of us who live on the planet are victims.

@northerncrisp Limpbaugh is a big fat idiot who cares nothing about humanity or the environment. He, Ann Coulter and a few other liars make their livings talking crap to fools. Lucky for them, there are plenty of them in America....
This is one more reason why we must concentrate our collective effort towards getting off this resource we as humans do not know how to handle properly. It is a cheap resource with expensive cost to the planet and ourselves. Much like dining only at a fast food restaurant, cheap on our wallet and costly to our bodies. Though I believe that going to the electric car will not completely stop oil drilling since we still use it on more things just transportation, we must change our design of life.
That can't be good for the ocean. From what I've heard the internal combustion engine which runs on oil has been obsolete since near after it's invention. People like Nikola Tesla and others with alternate engines, but that is bad for the billion $ oil business. Destroy our planet for the love of $.
@enerjon777 Tesla's inventions are all out there, they are not being suppressed.

@dangerouslytalented - Yes I agree w/ you somewhat, but I feel some suppression was done, as would any threat to any very successful business. I've heard that they're are many engine alternatives that wouldn't make us so dependant on oil.
The American government should have stronger regulations against this kind of companies (oil and mining) for example Exxon will have to pay 75 million dollars for this mess!!! 'cause that is the amount stipulated in the contract!!! while they used to make 3 billion every 2 months from drilling.
With the Trillions made from Oil why have oil companies not previously designed and tested equipment that can fix such leaks with it being held on standby for instant repairs. To allow massive pollution to occur and then think of a remedy to fix the problem is both negligent and irresponsible. Why have they not spent the money to have a reliable remedy?

The problem with fighting against oil dependence is the fact that its just so much talk. You look up anything to do will fuel cell cars, electric cars, solar/ wind power and you get the usually "but its tooooo priceeeyy... guess I should stick with my hummer.." people often talk about supporting these great technologies that are in their infant stages, but no one wants to back them. Talking green is a good way to make ideas flow, but support is a whole different game of ball.
we need to loose oil as an energy source right about now ..
I don't care if it's going to be nuclear, solar, wind or water but just about anything else will be great .. Secondly we need to take the energy control away from private companies. The cost should not matter. Energy should be on government hands always. No need to pay extra to a private company when we could get energy at cost level .
The Soviets tried this; so did the red Chinese. Didn't work. Cost more that way.
Problem isn't ownership, it is oversight and regulation--a lack of it in this case.
Even a conservative can be pro-regulation. It is about *conserving* a resource. The problem was that the last administration wasn't at all conservative and the minerals management service is corrupt...
@soccerdude601 The "free market" can fuck off and disappear for all I care. Everything should be democratically owned by the people not by a few wealthy billionaires.
Bad wiring, leak cited in failed oil shutoff device -- You'd think that the shutoff device would be tested on a daily basis, but apparently when that oil's a flowing and you're raking in the dough, you don't want to have your employees check up on a device that could save their lives and/or prevent an environmental catastrophe. You'd lose a lot of money that way. This is why regulating the sh*t out of massive oil conglomerates is such a bad idea....
@hanksnivelyreturns The costs of this oil spill far outweigh the cost of having safety devices.
They are immensely profitable, they can AFFORD to lose a lot of money. The oyster fishermen etc are being shut down en masse now. BP and Halliburton have shut down whole industries over 4 states(at least), and possibly parts of Cuba, indefinately.
@hanksnivelyreturns bad wiring? how bout drilling 30,000 feet into the earths mantle, something thats never been done- not knowing how much friggin pressure yr dealing with-
As much as it pains me to say this its our fault dont go blaming companys for something that our fault if everyone in the developed world started to rely on renewable energy like the sun the wouldnt have to try drill that deep because we wouldnt need it...Things like this just show why we must move away from our dependency on oil and stop destroying the homes of living creatures trying to get it one can only wonder how many fish ect will be dead by the time this stops
"Poll: Despite spill, support for oil drilling high
Also: Majority of Americans also back Ariz.'s new controversial immigration law" - This is the headline of a headline on the msnbc website. I wonder if maybe the bulk of the people who back the immigration law also still support offshore drilling??? I wonder if the bulk of those people are facebook fans of sarah palin??
@bogustube I'm all for walking and riding bikes; they do that all over Europe! And I think you only need to use the lights during the night for only a few hours before bedtime. If every community had its own garden and people could grow their own food, that would be great. I doubt that commercial farmers and grocery stores want that 'cause they'd lose money, but I'd love that.
I wish the men who are responsible for this mess would die... slowly and painfully. I have never said this before, but I wish they would fucking die. Can we please start lynching oil executives already!
This spill is more serious than people are taking it....they do not know how much oil is down there and they have no way of stopping it...this could very easily kill all life in the gulf of mexico
Exon paid $0 in Taxes. I bet BP paid not taxes either. They get subsidies to take our resources and we get to clean up their messes and suffer their mistakes.
40% marshes & 25% of seafood. Expect higher costs and serious coastal economic impact.
@RAWRFacekiller Um.... congradulations! You WERE first... did you also notice the video that could mean the death of our planets oceans? Have any comment on that? Not to be rude...but priorities man....
@RAWRFacekiller You and the lowbies like you are the reason this planets need a die off.... it's just that it's you and your ilk that NEED to die. With your attitude you must be in a seriously low place my friend. I feel sorry for you.

New estimates put this leak at a minimum of 70,000 barrels/day. How many gallons is that, you may ask?
1 barrel = 31.5 gallons, so, 70,000 barrels/day = 1,000,000 gallons...ONE MILLION GALLONS/DAY HOLY $H#T!
It started on April 10th, that's 30 days ago. Even the drill-baby-drill teabaggers can calculate this. That's 30 MILLION gallons so far!
Add to that 2 or 3 months to drill a relief well, we'll be lucky if we stop it before it hits a BILLION gallons.

Even a conservative can be pro-regulation. It is about *conserving* a resource. The problem was that the last administration wasn't at all conservative and the minerals management service is corrupt...

I think the gas is methane... Methane gas ice is what blocked up the big box that they were trying to block it with.

Entire energy sector needs to be nationalized and placed under the democratic control of the working class.

This is why regulating the sh*t out of massive oil conglomerates is such a bad idea....
hanksnivelyreturns 1 year ago
@hanksnivelyreturns The costs of this oil spill far outweigh the cost of having safety devices.
They are immensely profitable, they can AFFORD to lose a lot of money. The oyster fishermen etc are being shut down en masse now. BP and Halliburton have shut down whole industries over 4 states(at least), and possibly parts of Cuba, indefinately.
dangerouslytalented 1 year ago
@dangerouslytalented I totally agree with you. I was being over the top with my comment; I didn't really mean what I wrote.

can they crunch the pipe? put tons of rocks? no trash, rocks. Trash do not belong in the ocean or the sea.
MonyMG1959 1 year ago

I wonder if the bulk of those people are facebook fans of sarah palin??
hanksnivelyreturns 1 year ago 2
BP should be fully liable no gov't assistance.
dukee155 1 year ago 2
yeah lets stop drilling turn off our lights and air-conditioners and all ride our bikes from now don't forget to grow your own food.
bogustube 1 year ago 2
@bogustube I'm all for walking and riding bikes; they do that all over Europe! And I think you only need to use the lights during the night for only a few hours before bedtime. If every community had its own garden and people could grow their own food, that would be great. I doubt that commercial farmers and grocery stores want that 'cause they'd lose money, but I'd love that.

Exon paid $0 in Taxes. I bet BP paid not taxes either. They get subsidies to take our resources and we get to clean up their messes and suffer their mistakes.
40% marshes & 25% of seafood. Expect higher costs and serious coastal economic impact.
