There actually is a comparison when you look back at the old stuff with Yngwie's early bands, he made more of an effort to spill his guts on stage with the guitar being his vehicle of communication, though even then, you could tell he was trying to impress someone. Slash is mechanically and technically skilled enough to get by just fine, but it's his approach to the MUSICAL INSTRUMENT that makes him iconic. Music is therapy, not theory and technique. It's expression, art.

Yngwie is awful all he does is shred & it's completely unmusical. I don't care how much theory he uses, it's all bullshit if you can't put it to musical use. Slash can make 3 notes more interesting then Yngwie using 300. And for the record he doesn't just use pentatonic stuff. Infact he very rarely just uses pentatonic. He uses bebop scales, Harmonic Minors, Aeolian modes, Dorian modes, Ionian modes, etc etc. He's far more melodic & interesting than Yngwie fucking Malmsteen.

I guess all they did was to add a Marshall JCM overdrive tonality element to the core Alnico 2 Pro pickups,thus I don't see the point of buying the signature model instead of the regular one. Even the Mick Thompson signature Blackouts make more sense to be honest. As far as my money goes, P-Rails are still the best damn thing on their catalogue.
