I'm glad for GW2, because it's actually trying to be different and to distinguish itself from other MMO's. RIFT was a failed copy of WoW, and so will ToR from the looks of it. It's sad. More developers need to get away from stealing all the bad things about WoW.

Infact WoW lost many subscribers to trion's Rift. Players can now see this game as a difficult game, levelling itself is a challenge. In this game it's possible to die, not like world of warcraft where it could take you a day (not actual gametime) to reach level 30. In rift it can take you 1-2 days ACTUAL gametime to accomplish level 30. I believe that this game will grow to be a great mmo, it's fun and occupying unlike wow. Thank you trion, this game, is epic.

I've been playing WoW for 6 years straight - raided both hardcore and casually - and I'll tell you; it's terrible right now. The content they release is so little, and the gap in between is just too big. Also, leveling up is just broken now, thanks to heirlooms.

Heres a problem with making the grafics "realistic". First of all you need a really good machine to be able to run it. And after a few years the once so awesome grafics will be severely outdated and ugly.
Blizzard knew what they were doing when they gave WoW the immortal cartoonish grafics.

im level 20 in rift and am bored out the ass...where is guild wars 2? This game has shiny graphics but everything else is been there done that. Grind for tokens, spend tokens on gear, blah blah blah. BORING.
I fled back to Azeroth because Rift got boring after about 3 days. Too damn repetitive. I'm not saying WoW isn't, but it has a shitload of more content, and is less repetitive than Rift.
I do believe Rift has potential though, and will eventually be equal to WoW.
@lyricalbrit if you join a guild who does instances a lot like mine and they're all doing experts and will help you. you should be fine... but yes a dungeon finder will be nice.. and i also found if you need a group and say DPS LFG you wont find one most of the times... its easier just to make your own group

@lyricalbrit That will be nice when they do, trying to find groups is almost impossible. I spent 2 hours trying to find a group for something as a tank or dps and didn't see 1 person looking to group for it. I'm going to be pvping mainly, but I wanted to dungeon from 30-35, 40-45, etc. Almost not even worth trying to do dungeons.
I would really wanna buy this game but whit no dungeon finder it can be pretty tiredning ive read on forums it can take up to 2 hours and i think the 20min queue for dps is long in wow
@2kmarine I think the no Dungeon Finder Actually would make Gear grind fun and hard again, I remember in Pre BC and BC WoW me and my Guild Grind up gear was very fun, Now you just use the Dungeon Finder and Spam dungeon after dungeon, And you get your gear easily, But you end up doing more Repative junk, Rift took a different style, That I think it gonna make Guilds Tighter and Friend more Important to have... Cant wait to play it (Im Downloading it now)

Hello WoW and Rift fans. As 5 years wow palyer I also trought Age of Conan, Aion and Eve because WoW had moments of weakness so I was searching for something new but still on the same level. Actually I quit WoW because of Rift and as a fresh mmo it has almost all players wanted in WoW plus new original ideas for Rift. The PvP and PvE are at same level, few things like Hp bars of targets miss and other stuf but its still new and have almost all things wow brought in 6,5 years. Lets w8 4 better.

Well Rift is definitely well-designed, relatively free of bugs so far (got char lvl 29). Personally I like it better than wow. Rift combines elements of wow, warhammer, lotro - but I wouldnt say that it is definitely better than any of those games. I must admit that it is quite hard to come up with something really new on the fantasy mmorpg front. Rift is good, but not "special".
I cant wait for swtor as there is a lack of decent sci-fi mmorpg at the moment - eve and sto was a fail for me.

rift has a very diverse class system(which may yet seem overambitious) and its invasion events.
apart from that its just a change of scenery.
sofar there is little to convince me that rift is a wowbeater.but that is a personal oppinion.while rift is a very enjoyable game i doubt it will reach the height of wow as guildwars 2 and the old republic are on the horizon aswell.
@randomnickftw I think that the questing and leveling system beats WoWs no matter if tehy dont have the level scaling items that increase exp gain also. So now people arent that passive becuse they can meet and fight not only for dungeons/raids but also in real game. The precata invasions was not bad but always in the same places (big citys). Rift puts on the game teh game story so we dont have to do some dungeon or raid as WoTLK to feel the storyline. In Rift the world is alive. In WoW its dead
MMORPG´s are a big genre and WoW made one of the best games . WoW has everything what make a MMO to a MMO. So you can´t make a new game without tools that appeared in other games.

Ok MMORPGs are all the same basis. You have a variety of classes that you can specialize. They have dungeons, guilds, lore, factions, and die hard fanatics. Yeah Rift has similarities to WoW and EQ has similarities as does Warhammer. Hell even Runescape is similar. Why can't people just pick a game(s) and stop bitching about other games? If you don't want to play it then don't don't talk about it. At the very least if you're going to insult a game and promote another use the correct spellings...
the game looks great....the environment looks amazing ( yes much better than WoW) but the characters look really dull...in terms of armor, hairstyles and stuff....and the weapons look yeah...but idk maybe its cuz they are all low lvl

Put it this way, before the game was launched Trion already had 1 million subs to the game. There launch date was a big success aswell with many new subscribers, if a game is already pulling this many people and it has only been out for 6 days....once they polish their game mechanics and add some endgame. we can finally have a great alternative to the beast of a mmo..(side note): A game like this takes time to work out its kinks....WoW had about 6 years to perfect their system.

@uberwut You didnt feel the story so you entered into a game where everything is focused on PvP mostly in Cata and PvE. To do this now you need a lot of boring time and a lot of real life free time. Also the new and upcomming guild system/founder should promote an easier way to players like you to not be solitair and find ppl that can help them however the static gameplay made all boring. Every expantion is focused on the same Defeat Boss system and remade of PvP so ppl wont get tired.
@uberwut However what wow needs is to involve the new threat directly in the world of the palyers. Every expansion we see how those new bosses take place in new raids with new kill system ofcourse but in general we have to do the same in different way. Now sometimes ppl can see the final boss flying on random areas breathing fire (this keep the idea alive in people mind....of new stuff to come) but its a little change to keep all here. Rift needs more to come but will surpass WoW at all.

I fled back to Azeroth because Rift got boring after about 3 days. Too damn repetitive. I'm not saying WoW isn't, but it has a shitload of more content, and is less repetitive than Rift.
I do believe Rift has potential though, and will eventually be equal to WoW.

@lyricalbrit if you join a guild who does instances a lot like mine and they're all doing experts and will help you. you should be fine... but yes a dungeon finder will be nice.. and i also found if you need a group and say DPS LFG you wont find one most of the times... its easier just to make your own group

@lyricalbrit That will be nice when they do, trying to find groups is almost impossible. I spent 2 hours trying to find a group for something as a tank or dps and didn't see 1 person looking to group for it. I'm going to be pvping mainly, but I wanted to dungeon from 30-35, 40-45, etc. Almost not even worth trying to do dungeons.

@2kmarine I think the no Dungeon Finder Actually would make Gear grind fun and hard again, I remember in Pre BC and BC WoW me and my Guild Grind up gear was very fun, Now you just use the Dungeon Finder and Spam dungeon after dungeon, And you get your gear easily, But you end up doing more Repative junk, Rift took a different style, That I think it gonna make Guilds Tighter and Friend more Important to have... Cant wait to play it (Im Downloading it now)

Hello WoW and Rift fans. As 5 years wow palyer I also trought Age of Conan, Aion and Eve because WoW had moments of weakness so I was searching for something new but still on the same level. Actually I quit WoW because of Rift and as a fresh mmo it has almost all players wanted in WoW plus new original ideas for Rift. The PvP and PvE are at same level, few things like Hp bars of targets miss and other stuf but its still new and have almost all things wow brought in 6,5 years. Lets w8 4 better.

Well Rift is definitely well-designed, relatively free of bugs so far (got char lvl 29). Personally I like it better than wow. Rift combines elements of wow, warhammer, lotro - but I wouldnt say that it is definitely better than any of those games. I must admit that it is quite hard to come up with something really new on the fantasy mmorpg front. Rift is good, but not "special".
I cant wait for swtor as there is a lack of decent sci-fi mmorpg at the moment - eve and sto was a fail for me.

i play wow and rift.
rift has a very diverse class system(which may yet seem overambitious) and its invasion events.
apart from that its just a change of scenery.
sofar there is little to convince me that rift is a wowbeater.but that is a personal oppinion.while rift is a very enjoyable game i doubt it will reach the height of wow as guildwars 2 and the old republic are on the horizon aswell.

@randomnickftw I think that the questing and leveling system beats WoWs no matter if tehy dont have the level scaling items that increase exp gain also. So now people arent that passive becuse they can meet and fight not only for dungeons/raids but also in real game. The precata invasions was not bad but always in the same places (big citys). Rift puts on the game teh game story so we dont have to do some dungeon or raid as WoTLK to feel the storyline. In Rift the world is alive. In WoW its dead

All this QQ over a new MMORPG. People should be embracing it, how often does a promising mmorpg come out? Rarly ever. This game reminds me of the Warhammer MMO more then it does WoW. And I played WoW since release and I can tell you its turned into a money grab, the gameplay is not nearly as good as it use to be.
Too bad Warhammer was so glitchy! Hopefully this game turns out to be fun

Ok MMORPGs are all the same basis. You have a variety of classes that you can specialize. They have dungeons, guilds, lore, factions, and die hard fanatics. Yeah Rift has similarities to WoW and EQ has similarities as does Warhammer. Hell even Runescape is similar. Why can't people just pick a game(s) and stop bitching about other games? If you don't want to play it then don't don't talk about it. At the very least if you're going to insult a game and promote another use the correct spellings...

Put it this way, before the game was launched Trion already had 1 million subs to the game. There launch date was a big success aswell with many new subscribers, if a game is already pulling this many people and it has only been out for 6 days....once they polish their game mechanics and add some endgame. we can finally have a great alternative to the beast of a mmo..(side note): A game like this takes time to work out its kinks....WoW had about 6 years to perfect their system.

@uberwut You didnt feel the story so you entered into a game where everything is focused on PvP mostly in Cata and PvE. To do this now you need a lot of boring time and a lot of real life free time. Also the new and upcomming guild system/founder should promote an easier way to players like you to not be solitair and find ppl that can help them however the static gameplay made all boring. Every expantion is focused on the same Defeat Boss system and remade of PvP so ppl wont get tired.

@uberwut However what wow needs is to involve the new threat directly in the world of the palyers. Every expansion we see how those new bosses take place in new raids with new kill system ofcourse but in general we have to do the same in different way. Now sometimes ppl can see the final boss flying on random areas breathing fire (this keep the idea alive in people mind....of new stuff to come) but its a little change to keep all here. Rift needs more to come but will surpass WoW at all.

WoW is repetitive, the classes are totally imbalanced, grinding sucks Deathwings cock but you'll have to grind if you want in on the raids (aka if you want to play)

@Xaiden666 But it does look like WoW, Have you noticed that every MMO looks like every other MMO, not in terms of graphics always, but User interfaces, Quest Systems...classes. There really isn't any originality in the MMO world.

EQ is a clone from this one, WoW is a clone from that one, and Rift is a clone from blah blah blah... fact is these games build off each other. making something better from the mistakes the previous developers make. imo rift is epic. had the best of alot of mmo's ive played
