  • Loved the video, hope you like my videos too, thank you, bye

  • Hahahahhahahah i love himc:

  • he's beautiful!!

  • Fake - the guy actually hypnotised the bird into believing it's a pneumatic drill.

  • cool und süß, echt geil

  • makes me miss my black-headed pair

  • Now that is just ridiculously adorable!!!! <3

  • Hahaha so funny!

  • tres beau male

  • hahahaa that's so adorable X)

  • that there's a happy bird

  • yes he has been a dad a few times over and such a great little bird

he was my first hand raised goulidan

  • glad to hear he's happy in the aviary... he's so adorable.

  • Great, it's a pretious bird!! Who could not to like it?? I'd watch this video again and again!

  • que fofuraaaaaaaaa

  • lol that's cute. I have a hand tame gouldian finch that will hop around and sing when you hold him, but not the courtship dance. this is so cute lol

  • is true, he certainly thought it was a female because the dance is that this beautiful bird (Gouldian Finch) is to woo his mate ... I love these birds!

  • but could u tell me why a tamed gouldian finch can have babies ? He was imprinted on you, and nevertherless, he can not recognise his female mates, so how can he act like a normal gouldian ? I'm going to hand feed a gouldian baby, but i'm so scared :( Will he have ability to breed in the future? Could he recognise his girl friends ?

  • ahhh ... but he is not imprinted on me , he was slowly introduced to the aviary a couple of hours a day with other gouldians , then permanently when he was more confident and he went on to choose a mate and breed babies, he has turned out to be my best father gouldian ! he loves to raise babies, though now he is is getting old , he is near 7 years old now but still is happy.

put them in the aviary after weaning for short periods they soon revert to wild behaviour.

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa soooo friggin' adorableeee!!!

i love the way he hops enthusiastically! XD

  • Das ist gemein! Lieber ein Weibchen dazu, dann geht es dem Vogel wesentlich besser.

  • lol

  • SOFRICKINCUTE

  • That's the most chipper bird I've ever met.

  • this is too cute

  • That is the coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • How the heck did you train a finch?

  • @yarekhunt He was hand raised from a couple of days old so he was very tame he just did that himself when I put my finger in front of him .. I guess he thought it was a mate so did his dance lol

  • I have a couple of this bird and he does the courtship thing regulary! Sooo fun to see! Nice

  • waaa cute bird!! you should record her/him in HD!!

    i want 1 tooo...!!

  • he is too old now and lives in the aviary so has had babies and girlfriends so does not do it anymore

  • This is sooooo cute.

  • Congratulations on your diamond Gould's what we call this bird here in Brazil. As this bird trains you to be so meek. and I'm sorry it does not understand what I am saying is why not speak or write in English, I'm using the google translator hug goodbye

  • thanks all... he is a great little bird and has been a real good dad many times over

he is about 6 years old now

  • ohmygosh soo cuteeee

  • AW!!! thats sooo cute!!!!!!

  • cool

  • lol

  • Aren't Gouldian Finches endangered?

  • yes they are in the wild endangered , numbers are down, but there is a research program going on to help ....Save the Gouldian Fund.

  • this videos way too fast

  • was fine up until recently, seems to be some sort of youtube glitch with it appears jerky and faster..hope it settles.

  • aww just like mine! what does the "courtship" dance mean anways?

  • It is what the male does when getting ready to breed so he dances for the female.

  • ur gouldian finch is so CUTE!!!!!!! i want one

  • This is really funny lol :D but can it work with a zebra finch?

  • if you hand raise any finch from very tiny then they will be tame but the dancing depends on the species and what their courtship dance is.

  • He's so adorable and beautiful! I love birds, I have a spoiled cockatiel.

  • I have never seen any advertised for sale hand raised, I don't think many people have tried to hand raise them or have had success in hand raising them. I hand raised some a while back and advertised them but no one rang so I did not bother again, I am hand raising at present due to parents being disturbed from nest.

  • is it possible to buy a Hand Raised one in australia at all or are they just rare to get hand raised

  • Hi..................I just started a few days breeding gouldians and I would like to know if you can give me some tips on gouldians, foods, vitamins, etc

    Gouldians are so beautiful

  • Hi yes they are wonderful.

The best place for tips on all things gouldian is on yahoo groups, search for a group called GouldianKeeper and then subscribe.

  • BOING BOING BOING i love birds that are friendly and fun

  • Oh, what a beautiful bird! Although I've had the "Average Joe" zebra finch all my life, I've always wanted a rainbow Gouldian! You're lucky to have one!

  • why not gt one for yourself? their pretty amazing! hehe

  • sooo adorable and awesome.

great job hand-feeding and raising him

  • Aww how beautiful!

  • COOL!!!!

  • Are the that tame?

Or did you learn him to do that?

And how old can they be?

  • He is hand raised from a tiny chick in the nest... they are not tame normally.

  • so, SO cute!! I wish all finches were as tame as yours!

  • that is a beautiful bird, i hav realised i dont know much about finches didnt realise they came in such beautiful colours and that dance is cool

  • Wow, amazing... Very good job managing to hand rear these ones!!

  • So glad to see this video as I just got Gouldian Finches two days ago. This morning when I uncovered their cage, and the male started doing this dance and I had no idea what it was!! I wondered why he did it.They are almost two years old. How often do they molt? The store owner said that the male was molting as you could see spots on his head that were white, as if molting. Can you give a beginner any pointers? They sure love attention...I had no idea that they even cared

  • AWW I love how he just...hops :]

  • That funny that he's courting you finger! We just got a gouldian pair that's ready to breed. So I can't wait to see/hear their courtship.

  • I hand raised him that is why he courts my finger as he thinks I am his mate lol I didnt have sound on the camera when this was done so couldnt hear him singing sadly.

  • Hi To buy a Gouldian Finch look in your local paper for a breeder in the pet section or ask your local finch club, I am in australia so cost is not the same, they require good care.

  • How much do thse finches cost?

    where can get a baby?

  • After this date, you realise how awkward it's going to be every you go in the cage, right?

  • Cute Cute CUTE!! He is gorgeous and so cute!

  • That was awesome! That is one beautiful bird!

  • Hi url addresses are not allowed on the site they remove them.. so cant see it.

  • that is really cool, we tried hand raising a gouldian, but that failed.

  • Its not always easy raising finches, that is probably why you ever see them tame for sale, it takes a while to get it right.

  • juleig54,

if you go to youtube, type in:

"gouldian finch flight cage", and hopefully my video of my gouldian finches will appear, it has them in a large 4x4 ft. flight cage, so the video will be easy to spot. all my gouldians are one big happy family.

  • Is it true that Gouldians often neglect to feed their young? I have heard that about them from many people.

  • No not my experience at all here in Australia, seems to be a problem in US, and could be related to egg farming to escalate profits.

  • Our male does this as well, of course :)

Does anyone know where I can find an audio file of male Gouldian "singing"? I want to compare it to mine. He sounds almost like a whole aviary! And it's always in the same little pattern.

    Great videos!

  • check my other videos here as there is a male in there singing and talking .. I do have a file but you would need to email me so I can send it to you.

  • could i do that with my baby zebra finches that will be born in 2 weeks

  • You could hand raise your baby zeb but it might not dance like the gouldian, handraising finches is not very easy though.

  • OMG AMAZING

  • omg that is so cute

  • Great Job!!! Funny as hell.

  • My Gouldian male never sang while doing the dance.

  • That is unusual, all my males sing while dancing

  • The male Gouldian Finch do this dance naturally for the female during breeding season.

  • Yes that is correct and they sing while dancing but unfortnatly i did not have sound on the camera.

  • It's like a bunny.

BUT IT'S AMAZING THAT THE BIRD STAYS ON YOUR FINGER.

  • Lol.. yes, he did a good job !

  • Very cute...I wish mine were that talented!

  • how in the world did you get him to stay on your finger?

  • He is a hand raised gouldian .. I raised him from one day old so he was very tame and thought that I was his mate lol he now has a gouldian mate and has had a number of babies :-)

  • man, does he love You!! LOL LOL! thanks for a great film!

  • beautiful bird

  • It is not easy to hand raise them but they make wonderful pets.. I have 7 that have been hand raised at different times and ages.

  • funny

  • That is very cute! :)

  • LOL!

  • soooo cute
