One thing is that their standards are very high. the second thing is feminism in general has made many men turn the "relationship switch" off in their heads, and they just do not see marriage any longer as a possibility. Then they have this baggage from immature decisions they have made in the past. The education discrepency is also a huge issue. But the remedy for that is patience. If we take our time with our relationships, the family structures will start to come back but you cant speed up that process.

How about you just focus on being with the right person...not the right black/white/asian/hispanic/etc. person, but the right person!! Too many of these discussions are focusing on one particular race. Why not find a good man or woman that has the similar values/dreams as yourself. As a single black woman, I think that black women are a little episodic and unrealistic. The black women that I know that are married have either met her husband very young, married an older man, or married a man she is not in love with. I think we have to give a little bit, kind of like someone said it is either the career or a family. We can't have it all, well at least most of us can't have it all. One stereotype I don't agree with is all black women have children out of wedlock. Not true.

Marriage is a myth. In this society men have no power in a marriage. All of the laws are female concentric. "Oh baby, this thing we have together is so good we just have to get the government involved." If marriage didn't exist today would we invent it? I think not. My advice to all black men and women that view this clip, gossip about these perspectives, people. Don't be so closed-minded to only your gender's perspective when it comes to things like this and you will realize that we both aren't as complicated as we make each other out to be, in general. ALLOW EACH OTHER TO SPEAK AND L I S T E N, I can not stress that enough, folks. Fortunately, this was not a debate, it was A SUCCESSFUL CONVERSATION.
I truly enjoyed this meaningfuil conversation. I feel it was easier for these individuals to discuss these various issues on set as opposed to in a private one on one session because it allowed them to stay focused on the issue at hand, without getting too emotional due to personal experiences. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that both genders were able to have this important conversation and ACTUALLY LISTENED to each other, that is great! The path to moving forward has been activated.
Its really only after they get paid that this claim for an equal male counterpart arises. Its a harsh reality that I, and a lot of other men had to learn to accept when it comes to approaching & dating women. The game aint fair, but thats really the case.
Its BS that these women are in seek of their male equals. That is just not the case. Before these women became so called successful they were not trying2 check 4a man on exactly the same level as themselves.
Hill Harper gave proof with his example of being turned down by Sherri Sheppard when he didnt have a car, yet she didnt either.
And I've suffered the same instances myself in my past.
Its only after theyve started making good money themselves that this issue of equal counterpart comes up.

Then they have this baggage from immature decisions they have made in the past. The education discrepency is also a huge issue. But the remedy for that is patience. One thing I can say about Latinos and I dated a Latino who was a TALL, Successful, business man and his whole family was very proud, upper class people. The root of the problem is Black Women need to stop giving all their time, attention, and money to their mega churches, stop having [umpteen] babies out of wedlock, stop belittling the father of the fatherless...I could go on & on...and start putting money away for their children's education, travel [get your children a passport], and broaden their horizons. As a single black woman, I think that black women are a little episodic and unrealistic. The black women that I know that are married have either met her husband very young, married an older man, or married a man she is not in love with. I think we have to give a little bit, kind of like someone said it is either the career or a family. We can't have it all, well at least most of us can't have it all. One stereotype I don't agree with is all black women have children out of wedlock. Not true.

Marriage is a myth. In this society men have no power in a marriage. All of the laws are female concentric. "Oh baby, this thing we have together is so good we just have to get the government involved." If marriage didn't exist today would we invent it? I think not. I think too many men now have seen too many other men get raked over the coals too many times by one-sided alimony and child custody judgments that it only takes seeing someone get burned to know it's gonna hurt.

This is why I am so glad that I don't have kids. Child custody is also a bitch too because it's the woman who ups and runs off with the kids when she's not happy in the relationship anymore. that is true.. but i took classes in psychology and sociology. There were exercises we did in the class that helped teach me that you need to listen when someone is speaking, how can you understand what they are saying if you are talking. So I have learned to be a good mediator and sometimes my friends will say well Will you talk to so and so for me. I used to think that everyone understood that. but i guess not. Black women as you can see on here are CRAZY.

I truly enjoyed this meaningfuil conversation. I feel it was easier for these individuals to discuss these various issues on set as opposed to in a private one on one session because it allowed them to stay focused on the issue at hand, without getting too emotional due to personal experiences. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that both genders were able to have this important conversation and ACTUALLY LISTENED to each other, that is great! The path to moving forward has been activated.

I take away two things from this special: both bm and bw need to be willing to understand and accomodate the needs of the other. These successful women need to emphasize character traits in a man and not just money to give her a certain lifestyle.
