  • Nobody was between starks and basket. If grant squared up with him...he doesn't dunk it

Jordan on Ewing is being dunked on. Pippen on Ewing is nasty. Griffin on Perkins is having soul taken

  • One of the great moments in knick history. Haven't had much to cheer about since the Ewing gang left town.

  • "did he really just did this"

  • Much better than that Blake Griffin dunk on Perkins...wish people knew what they were talking about when talking about dunks. This is one of my favorite Knicks memories, Starks dunking over the Bulls and the entire state of Illinois.

  • @davidb954 im aware of that... that's why i corrected myself

  • Come on with the ewing foul...that Dunk was insane, even if he was a foul, He took both Jordan and company to the Rim...That is one of the All Time Best....

  • @Randeeds76 MJ didnt get dunked on...

  • @Domini478 well he was standing right next to it ... also jumping

  • @dermatu He was on the side of Horace. Horace got dunked on, not MJ...

  • Great dunk..but it should have been a offensive foul on Ewing he gave bj Armstrong a knee and a push in the back..but still a wicked dunk on grant and mj.

  • nvm hes not white

  • I'm surprised it was the short, white one that did it.

  • @Iskusmarines john starks is african american.. just light skinned...

  • starks is tha funniest name ever yung. Starks lol

  • better yet, call that a dunk on the team, since that's what jordan was ... and add insult to injury,, grant too

  • the person below me is a fat fag......only the posterzied speak with that much feeling...

  • go screw yourselves dumb knicks fans. im pretty sure that to dunk on someone you have to be facing them. jordan was on the motherfucking side not even in it. he did SORT of dunk on grant. such an overrated play and its no even true

  • lol @ the pick

  • yeah starks, dunk on that house nigga!! NY4LYFE

  • Love both teams, but bulls are my favorite

  • this was when basketball was still good..and anyone that still thinks jordan didnt get posterized needs to wake the fuck up and stop living in denial....

  • lol look at jordans face after the dunk while he still in the air....like noooooo!!

  • Damn Starks killed Armstrong with the first step and just xploded!!!

  • Man, I remember this game like it was yesterday

  • As a New Yorker and a Knick fan, i watched this game that night on MSG TV, and i liked John Starks as a player...but after that dunk I became a John Starks fanatic.

  • Mick did not get dunked on. Horace grant did

  • @cjlt24

They both did, they went up to contest him and he just SLAMMED it on them.

  • mj dunk on patrick ewing was way better than this, lls

  • @earl1147 LOL! Are you kidding me? Jordan's dunk on Ewing isn't even close to this

  • @earl1147 how was that dunk better than this one.... jordan was a waaayyyyy better overall player than ewing and it was 1 on 1.. yea ok , thats fine and whatever, but john starks, a lil better than average guard posterized not only horace grant, but jordan, one of if not the best player in the nba. buddy u got it backwards.

  • YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I remembered that.... We was in the crib going crazy!!!

  • It's crazy cuz nowadays they'll call a foul on that kind of pick. smh

  • @TallDarkandHandsome3 hmm maybe if it wasn't in the 4th with 1 min left. there wasn't that much contact lol

  • this new york team was the 2nd best team in the NBA other than the bulls, including the western conference for at least 3 years running in the mid 90's. They would have had at least 2 rings if it wasnt for Jordan and the Bulls ! They were the only team that tool the bulls to 7 games

  • @wianian

    The pacers did in 98

  • Keep flying with him.

  • and who won the series again? and how many titles have the knicks won since 1970? yeah that's what i thought...pretty sad that this is the only highlight the delusional knicks' fans have from the 1990s whereas us Bulls' fans can find countless videos of MJ and Pippen just taking colossal dumps all over that overrated knick team

  • @fluffynoses overrated? im pretty sure the 90s knicks were always described as Ewing and a group of mediocre ball players. You cant be called overrated when you have one superstar and guys that just have heart on your time. The almighty bulls should have swept by us then if that was the case? However, they did not. and nothing against MJ hes the greatest of all time, but take him away from the bulls and what do you get? the 94 series and no 4peat. the knicks werent overrated; they played hard.

  • @SuperGonzo41 sorry but the knicks did not, will not, and will never get the job done. that's the stone cold truth bud and yes they were overrated a lot of teams hell the 1990s Charlotte Hornets and cavaliers could outplay the knicks on any night

  • @SuperGonzo41 and don't sell them short too much, allan houston was widely considered a star for a while as laughable as that sounds now. charles oakley is probably one of the best interior defenders in the game for sure too

  • They cheated.

  • F**k all u Jordan groupies, he's a poster child! And I got the poster too!

  • best dunk in knicks history

  • the greatest of all time

  • how tall is that young man

  • that was sick , i dont care what any bulls fan says left hand dunk in the face

  • @westside159 there's nothing bulls fans can say about that...

aside from the six titles...but yeah dunk was great...roflmfao

  • lets face it lots of players would have rings if there was no michael jordan

  • @martyxcallsiefer and many wouldn't.

  • Classic Knicks. Jordan and the Bulls were the reason they didn't win a ring. Then again, Knicks still lost 4-1 to spurs in the finals. >.> still my fave team.

  • ewing pushed armstong

  • I remember this like it was yesterday!! My second favorite player of all time!!

  • Haha he didnt dunk on jordan... he only dunked on cartwright

  • where are these fans now? lmao

  • John Starks With the Move of the Night....With the move of the decade!!!

  • John Starks is the great one who see MJ in his eyes...son chileno..por eso mi inglés es tan malo!!

  • if horace were not in mike's way, i know mike wouldn't have let john fucking starks dunk that.... one way or another

  • i saw this game when it originally aired...great memories

  • starks

  • get up jordan

  • I love this dunk, but he dunked on Grant, Jordan wasn't a factor.

  • The second angle of this shot is the best! ..they always show the 1st angle and you can't see him take off like the 2nd

  • Charles "Fuckin" Smith !!!!!!!!

    Need I say anymore.

  • the NBA is in its best era right.. well the most talented at least where one team isnt winning every year.. i miss the 90s cuz those guys were tough.. The NBA is soft now

  • althrough was born in 1997 after watching 90's basketball 2005- basketball sucks

  • Jordan was so mad after that he shitted on the Knicks franchise and made them irrelevant for the next 20 years

  • @Kenny1984

That could be said about every other team except for the Rockets...

  • @note156 Any other team improved except for the Knicks lol. Phoenix improved, Jazz improved, Blazer improved, Lakers improved. Only the pathetic Knicks franchise stay irrelevant for the last 12 years lol

  • @Kenny1984

Well the last post you said 20....i mean they were still winning games all through out the 90s.....this was in 94...not to mention the finals appearance they had in 2000....fact is...everyone acts like all these teams improved...but the Jazz are in the same exact boat as the knicks losing in their finals appearances...blazers as well....The lakers had a Bulls like roster in before they started winning...so it just sounds ridiculous when you say the Knicks were the only team.

  • @note156 For a big market team like the Knicks you would expect them to at least get better after all these years. And they weren't winning games. How many playoff have they made it since 94 ? Compare that to Blazer and Jazz. Compare their talents . You would see that the Knicks front office failed to improve the team. A big market team like the Knicks have zero excuse for not improving. With Amare and Melo there might be glim of hope but we all see what happened in the playoff

  • @Kenny1984

not too much of a difference.....BLazers missed 5...utah missed 4 and Knicks missed 8...Neither of these teams were winning championships....While i agree the front office in NY is garbage i think its a bit on the far side to say the Knicks were the only team to underachieve given everyones situation...You can throw the Big Market thing out there and use it as a excuse to judge them harsher but it doesn't seem logical when factoring everything that goes into the rebuilding process.

  • @note156 There is no excuse for the Knicks franchise. They need to get a new owner and a new front office. With all the first round picks they had. They kept picking horrible draft choices and made horrible coaching/player decisions. The team sucks period. The funny thing is even though they sucks the team still sell tickets at sold out price . I guess that's why there is little motivation for the owner to improve since he can still sell tickets regardless of the team performance. Pathetic

  • @Kenny1984

Nobody is making excuses for the Knicks franchise...i said i agree with you on that. all that other stuff is whatever because it really has nothing to do with my point. And you are making more of a argument for their management than their players right now...My point was simple...the Knicks weren't the only team in the league who underachieved or failed in their efforts to win a championship like you were making them out to be.

  • @Kenny1984

Fact is...when jordan was around....EVERY team was irrelevant....the only reason the rockets won was probably because Jordan was out for that year and a half....after that....he won another 3....so trying to make a case for these team getting better (really? the Jazz?) doesn't work because outside of San Antonio and the Lakers there aren't many teams that you can say aren't in a similar position (Such as Indiana)

  • Starks kicked jordan's ass.

  • @atimetowork...yeah...lol...and he dunked with the lefty....

  • And yet, Jordan won't let it go.

  • he tried to help contest the shot, and he failed to stop the dunk from taking place..

Yeah maybe he wasn't the main defender, but he was in the area and was obviously trying to get a piece of that ball. hence he got dunked on. I'm sorry, but it is what it is.

  • @anthparsons1 You got that right. He dunked on the whole team left-handed...Jordan never did anything like that!

  • @R4Love365 yea, no doubt it was a great dunk, but are you freakin serious that MJ never did anything like that?!?! he did that and more on a routine basis!

  • @anthparsons1 He was on the side of him dumbass.

  • 0:11 notice how he DIDN'T dunk on michael jordan

  • @only3daysthengone13 I had this poster when I was a kid. Jordan is in it, thus Starks posterized his ass. Starks dunked on both Grant and Jordan.

  • @GialloHorror It was a ill dunk...Imagine if Starks was on the Bulls back then though.

  • @MrSlik25 HAHA! I don't want to imagine Starks on The Bulls, they had enough good players.

Starks is my favorite Knick of all time.

He was so much fun to watch. He always played his guts out. That whole team did, and I admire them all for that.

Starks will always be a LEGEND to me and I'll never forget that dunk as long as I live

  • @GialloHorror Starks should be in the hall of fame..in my opinion...He had to be great to play MJ that hard...He's Joe Dumars without the two rings.

  • @MrSlik25 Shittin me...Starks was a good role player and role players don't go into the hall of fame dumbass. He went to one all star game and thats it!

  • @only3daysthengone13 if u watch closely on the replay on 1:01 you can see MJ was clearly tryin to block Starks and failed in the process.

  • What a dunk.... sucks because the bulls still won the series :)

  • greatest dunk ever!!!! with left hand ha ha jordan on wrong end of highlite reel!!!

  • greatest dunk ever!!!!

  • he got fuckin boomed on!

  • Micheal Jordan was nowhere near Starks

  • I really hate the NBA today, everyone is way to friendly. I don't even remember the last time I watched an NBA game, but in the '90s I watched the NBA like a religion.

  • I have always loved this dunk. Damn, new school NBA has nothing over the old school. At least back then, fouls had a purpose. Not this touch foul BS.

  • I saw that game as it happened.

  • patrick ewing is the scarriest mother fucker ever

  • To the knicks

"What happen...did your balls fall off?"

  • If only Gus Johnson was calling this play.

  • Jordan Got Dunked on, Get over it! Ask anyone except a Jordan Fan and they'll tell you the same, he also pushed off on Byron Russell on his So called Last shot! Whoooo controversy!

  • @SKOTxFREE jordan didnt get dunked on...he got there late...there was another bull center that got it

  • @rsxzx6r thats how much you know about basketball that was Horance Grant and he was the power forward .... Jordan didnt get dunked on but he was in the poster lmao

  • @SwiftControla u made my point....he didnt get dunked on...because he was so big..they made a deal of it...hence him being in the poster...cuz no one cared about grant...lol

  • @rsxzx6r lol

  • @SKOTxFREE lol wow, well i guess thats the first dunked on person to be dunked on with a teammate in front of him, and him not even being near the play lol

  • that was absolutely filthy

  • To bad in nba rules now ewings pick would be all kinds of fouls =( sad stuff.

  • This was equivalent of Marshawn Lynch's 67 yard touchdown against the Saints. I remember watching this game. Unforgettable.

  • good times...

  • the greatest dunk ever...I was there!

  • I had that poster of this play called "The Dunk"

  • ahh, the days when Jordan could basically win every game he wanted to by driving and knowing he would end up on the free throw line because God forbid the officials believe he could be guarded by God himself so why not call a foul on the defender every time? Just send him to the line and let him win it there.

  • Ah, the days when the Jordan Bulls feared the Knicks. Those were sweet games to drink to. Jordan could care less about the play, fun in the game, meaningless in the long run. Besides, Starks was entertaining but we all know the reason Knicks were feared was Oaks and Mace. Pure fear. A spazzy dunk doesn't do that. Elbows do.

  • "OH! A spectacular move, by John Starks!"

  • this is such an overrated moment....jordan did not get dunked on and the knicks lost the series

  • I wouldn''t call that a dunk on Jordan LOL he ran into Horace Grant. Thats who got dunked on

  • @DJDnyce210 If Mike jumped Mike got dunked on. That's what happened.

  • Marv never loses it when it comes to dunks.. thats cool. Kevin Harlan would've straight TRIPPED OUT!!!!

  • Starks really Dunked on Horace Grant not Jordan

  • Somebody for got to tell B.J. Armstrong watch the pick!

  • @johnnyarks uugh yea

  • Ahh, the years where basketball was a sport with elite athletes who had character. Now it's nothing more than a money whoring name dropping endorsing wannabe American sport. I lost interest after the 90's.

  • So what if John Starks doesn't have 6 rings or an MVP like Jordan? No one's saying he's the best ever; he just made a play that's memorable, especially to Knicks fans.

It was still a great play, and that's the point here.

  • The dunk that awoke Michael Jordan!

  • Comment removed

  • he dunked on horace grant, not michael jordan

  • Jordan disliked it 5 times!

  • Thumbs up if you miss 90's era NBA.

  • @dabearcub DEARLY

  • @dabearcub

I do and I wasn't even over the age of 10 yet.

  • eh fzerkaou, if you really want to develop in basketball, you have got to start following a real exercise course. I used the famous nba training workout here (50-inch-vertical(dot)com). I haven t even told this to my high school teammates yet lol

  • Jordan was just a few seconds late or else that wouldve been the biggest block of his career. Still an amazing dunk by starks

  • imagine if it was gus johnson calling that play lol

  • but starks himself said he didnt dunk on jordan but on grant. jordan was about to attempt to block it but knew he would be posterized without question if he challenged that shot. so if you noticed, he hesitated at the last second. but of course imagine the crowd at msg when that happened and the speed of the game. everyone assumed starks really posterized jordan. .. but who cares?if grant wasnt there, jordan wouldve gotten that ball stuffed on his throat rofl! go knicks!

  • Comment removed

  • LOL, your right... it is the best dunk of his Career for sure.....epic dunk..jordan's dunk in this series is also epic. great series...

  • @deadlygangsta

i just said those EXACT words not even 5 seconds before i looked at your comment.

  • ...somebody got Posterized...
