Hello Ellaskins!!

I´m using an Uc-33 to control traktor pro (4decks) but the only thing that I miss is a couple of jogwheels in order to match the accappellas to the song (because traktor don´t recognize any beat so I cant sync them very well).

Any tips to do it WITHOUT having to buy more hardware??(using 2 buttons to move a little bit forward or backward while the song is playing or stopped for example..)

yeah , if you put Timecoded vinyl on the turntables , and control traktor/serato over it.... but why would you like to use the VCM 100 as a mixer ... as just a mixer , without the midicontrolls , it's very , very basic ( 2 channels , 3 band eq ... a crossfader... and that's pretty much it ) so if you think 'bout using it as a mixer... just buy a regular mixer... there are much better mixers ( 4 channels , 3 band eq , effects , any many more things ... ) for less money ;)

You should point out that it comes with Traktor 3 LE. LE I believe stands for "Light Edition". It apparently doesn't have all the features of the full Traktor 3.

Can you tell us more about the rotary feeling and the pitch ? It is longer than VCI 100, so I think it is more precise.

Hello, Jonathan I think you have a bad configured Traktor (perhaps a latency problem or a midi clock not in time) because Traktor have a really stable pitch with consoles like VCI 100 or VCM 100. Put phase meters off. They are always wrong.

VCM 100 is not for scratching Djs, but I think it is a really nice for Soulful house Djs because of the rotaries. Traktor has lot of features. With the pro version you can assign what you want on all buttons and more. Just look for Eangolden videos...

Traktor is realy good and easy, but to be honest it is possible to mix with it even if you don`t have any headphones! Just by watching the track on the monitor!

sasquatch888 thats just an option, which you dont have to use. Im actually looking for something like this, I want mix some tracks but all i have is my pc with 1000's of mp3's and 5.1 hifi outputting the sound.

The thing i want to ask jonathon is.. can you listen to one deck on headphones while still outputting the live deck through the hifi?

Virtual DJ is alot better than this though, plus if you dont like how VDJ looks you can download loads of different skins of there website

Yeah, that's perfectly possible in traktor, just get a soundcard with 5.1 surround sound capability and you can split the channels.

I have the VCI-100 (with job wheels) I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I use it with Traktor 3. I got the VCI controlling decks A and B and i got my timecode vinyls controlling decks C and D. Works out perfect because I can mix up to 4 tracks at once and still be able to mix with vinyl when I want and also with the controller when I want...ALL from ONE program! If you dont have one yet GET IT!

Part 1:

I just started DJ'ing. Always been a dream of mine but I had the money saved now. I started with a Vestax VCI-100 (pretty much like this device, just with "turntables").

Part2: I had it for about 2 weeks, when I realised it just didn't satisfied my urge for dj'ing, learning, experimenting etc. So I returned it to the shop and got the money to buy 2 x Technics 1210 mk2 and a DJM-400. They learning curve is somewhat longer, but more fun and when you do your first couple of succesful beatmixes and a real turntable its just a feeling you can't describe.

What i'm trying to say, while these kind of things look attractive a bang-for-the-buck one piece of hardware DJ solution, it might not give you the real "DJ" experience you are looking for.

I now see midi controllers like this as a possible addon for you DJ setup, but not a substitute.

If you wanna start DJ'ing I suggest getting a pair of turntables or CDJ, even if it is some cheap ones.

Just my 2 cents, even tho im just a beginner myself.

U use traktor 3 le with a behrginger bcd3000.. The sync button can be a double-edged sword, I wouldn't rely on it when you're about to do the mix.. it sometimes does wierd things!

In traktor you have to set the beatgrids for most tracks... otherwise when you use the sync feature it will tend to skip around.
