  • @cubsruler Same

  • Do you know how dangerous this is!

  • @maddiedancestar3 I've been riding freight trains for 12 years and some..know it well

  • floorless carts are a bitch. box carts that are open are a blessing

  • @OAKnSTEEL word

  • Christ! It looks like a blast.

  • Wizehop...you need to be sea kayaking the north end of Georgian Bay - don't ask me how I know...I just do.

  • @tprdfh51 went Kayaking once, enjoyed it..was harder on my arms than I was expecting.

  • I know people are saying this is stupid, which in a way it is. But I'd rather live life than worry about the dangers. Keep train hoppin

  • Graffiti & trainhopping seem to go hand in hand.Im going to try this soon, seems so dope

  • OI!!!! I GOT A KREW BITCHES. Get ready New Orleans cuz I'm comin to fuck that city up again XD!!!! Fucking RIGHT

  • Gugf

  • I work as a railroad conductor, so I see things left behind on freight cars like blankets or empty drink bottles from time to time. I knew people hopped trains but I had no idea what it was like. I enjoy the music selection a great deal and I think your editing and overall presentation is very effective. It has certainly given me some perspective. One request: please stay out from between cars - even the most experienced of us can suffer serious injury or be killed. It's no place for amateurs.

  • SONG NAME PLEASE!!

  • @poilecebula in the description ;)

  • Did you ever come close to being caught? How did you know where the trains were going?

  • @gm21212 Many times, and I actually got nailed this past spring. $65.00 fine or it was, didn't pay it yet so its since gone up. As far as learning where trains go, one word, research. Most of train hopping is studying. At least for me that is, maybe crust punks are born with some six sense and just know..but for most of us we put a lot of work into it, no easy answers.

  • @wizehop Do you find it better to catch out from a yard or when the train is moving? Would you happen to know a good place to catch out of Vancouver?

  • Is this a dvd and where can you buy? or is this just a self made vid by you for youtube..pretty cool man much respect, wish i could do it...

  • @BURNERUGK Just a vid for youtube, I was in India hopping trains and Im finishing a doc I filmed on it..no idea when it will be done though.

  • Who is Bandita?

  • @lMisterMeaner who is anyone?..someone I ride with from time to time

  • @wizehop Don't really get the 'anyone' part. But I was just asking because it sounded read as if he is dead or something. Thought he may have got killed whilst hopping.

    Anyway, thanks and nice vid:)

  • @lMisterMeaner HE is actually a SHE and by "who is anyone" I meant basically we are all anonymous so IM not sure how to answer that question.

  • @wizehop Fuck, as I wrote my comment I thought 'bet she's a girl' - just my luck.

Yeah, I knew what you meant, just seemed unnecessary.

  • Nice video, very cool. I wish the annoying music wasn't drowning out the audio though, I would like to hear what the subjects of the video are saying. Perhaps it would have been better to put the audio at a lower level?

  • @dragonxxx53 unfortunately most of the conversation isn't for the mass public. As much as I would like to share everything with people, its just not always possible.

  • Great video with fantastic music. A dangerous dream sorry.

  • Is it true that the bulls will beat the shit out of you or is that mostly rumor?

  • @Aciddreamz420 mostly rumor..in some places you need to be more worried about other "locals" who may not like you being around..but bulls are mostly hot air.

  • i just started doing this, i will hop off if caught with my fucking steel toed boot right in the mother fuckers face "fuck you i wont do what you tell me" prepare for an ass beating if you see my face just let it go man i don't play!

  • Where do you poop?

  • @SheisseFicken Believe it or not....you hang you ass out of the edge, or the open floor, go about your business, then wipe. Bring toilet paper and wet wipes!

  • dr wiliam luther pierce!? the lesson of haiti !?!?

  • I read an LA times Article. These kids who r run aways live on trains. This kid said that he was beaten up real badly by a train yard security/custodian, who told the kid "I never forget a face; the next time I see you, I won't be nearly as merciful." Have you ever run into or heard of such problem? How do you avoid those hairy situations? I really want to travel, but I want to take pre-cautions. That is why I am asking

  • @SubUrbanHunter There are dangers in anything you do, sometime you just have to deal with things as they happen...that's how you learn about the world around you. I've never ran into anyone horrible but it could happen. IN train hopping its not about avoiding harry situations, its about having the confidence to deal with them. Now re moving trains, I don't recommend catching them. Find a place where trains stop and get on there.

  • @SubUrbanHunter When is the last time something the media reported turned out to be even half as serious as they said?

  • @SubUrbanHunter

Def check out the documentary catching out! It is super informative and shows alot of the real dangers of bulls!

  • @SubUrbanHunter First of all, you are trespassing. You are also a danger to all of the people who are trying to do their jobs. Plus you would much rather get beaten up by a bull than crushed, dismembered or have your face dragged along the ballast by a train

  • @SubUrbanHunter That is a scene from the movie, "Into the Wild". Just a movie ^^

  • Hi: wize: I live near trains in San Bernardino CA. I want to hop. Do you generally wait for a train is about 3-5 miles an hour? Most trains are traveling too fast for me to safely jump on. Is there a special technique for hopping a moving train? I dont' want to get hurt. I want to see the country and see Tehachappi CA. Wut is ur technique for a moving train? Or do U just have to be patient and wait for a very slow train?

  • @SubUrbanHunter simply researching would be a good bet?

  • @SubUrbanHunter Dont know if you have hopped any trains yet but a good rule of thumb is if you can count the lugnuts on the turning wheel, it's safe.

  • by the way i have also traveled around the world, been to india, china, malaysia, bangladesh, burma, thailand, japan, bahrain, saudi arabia. i have faced major criticism that i shouldnt travel so much by other family members and i have faced life threatning situations like Typhoid fever, caught that on my travels over in Asia. but nothing will stop me from doing what i love and to you man(Wizehop) i say life is short, live life to the fullest and do whatever you want/travel without anyone stopping you!

  • @mukaikof Amen to that....love world traveling, only thing that keeps me from becoming a full time hobo

  • i use to trainhop back in the days, i trained hop from okc to california. its fun for an experience and should be done at least once in your life. but i dont recommend using it as a career guide or a permanent solution to your travels. its very dangerous and not worth the risks. just try it one time. mainly at stops where the train sits for days/hrs. hit them trains up and wait, never try to run after and jump on a running train unless you want to face decapitation or death!

  • Thts cool do u still do this?

  • @777MrFurry Always

  • How do you know where a train is going? When your using the scanner do the operators talk about direction/destination?

  • @cpayne1123 research, lots of it, and they do talk about things but not always in a way you would understand if you don't know the lingo..long story short there are no easy answers, you need to do a lot of ground work.

  • How long do you ride before the train stops? How far do you go?

  • @johnnychaos91185 As in beginning to end? a train can go from one city to another, or right across the country. They stop allot along the way so its really up to where you want to go and how long you want to go for..of course you have to know what trains go where. I've done small 2.5 hour rides all the way up to rides that lasted weeks...some have been riding for years and haven't stopped..so its really up to the rider.

  • Have you ever train hopped from Canada into the U.S?

  • @barrmatthew89 No and these days I wouldnt recommend trying

  • have you ever been to illinois train hoppin or america

  • @parad0x42100 haven't had the best of luck in the US and no haven't ridden in Illinois

  • Lousy music, but great video.

  • @PhantomSticky sudgestions for the next one?

  • Well holy shit. Montreal. My home. Nice ride. :]

  • @KurthBemis ya man, good city for trains. Although they emptied CP's yard by the water this weekend for the fireworks!

  • hey hello i am interest in train hooping could you please answere me some question?

is it possible to train hoop in winter?

all kind of wagons are good or do i need to find specific wagon?

when and how can i get up and get off?

this could be enoug for now but i think i'll do something in this september

  • @gatsu38 glad your interested....to answer your questions quickly 1) its possible to ride trains any time, but not advised, cold + no experience = certain death. 2) you need to find a ride that is safe, not all cars are safe, that comes down to common sense and experience. 3) if you cant figure stuff like this out on your own its not safe to ride trains, there are no set answers to any of these questions, you need to be able to figure things out on your own or you will basically die

  • @wizehop sorry i was on holiday i couldn't write you back, about the 3rd the question is: i see people getting up and down on trains completely stopped in the middle of nothing. How could i know where are this trains going or how could i find sutch places?

  • hey man awesome vid! Lived next to the train tracks for a long time and always thought about doing stuff like this when I was a kid, our town used to be a crew change so we got a lot of hoppers. Anyways how did you get across the border without customs finding you guys????

  • @butterpoop glad you liked it. Personally I would never cross a boarder on a train...hitch it or bus it if need be..not worth the risk in my eyes

  • @wizehop This definitely looks like an adventure! Open scenery and open itinerary just go where the train goes. However do you ever meet any sketchy people? I know in the US around train yards a lot of them are sometimes ex convicts or have mental issues. Just saw a piece on the FTRA and the people looked pretty scary. Is it pretty safe and do they usually keep to themselves?

  • I love it my life is so boring i dont go outside much no more i would love to do this kinda of thing but despertly need some freinds i dunno

  • @treverbettis I did it alone for years before I found people to ride with

  • how many days was this??

  • @Camuseiya this trip was only three days

  • So you probably have to jump off before the train stops in a yard somewhere don't you? Is it easy to get caught?

  • @johnnychaos91185 its easy to get caught if you don't pay attention..and no you don't have to jump off through yards...if no one sees you you have nothing to worry about.

  • Where do you find your information on train routes, where to hop on and off at, etc?

  • @MrChris240 There is no easy answer for that. You need to do a lot of research and at times it can be quit pain staking

  • 4.4 million years is off by a factor of ten; 200 thousand years.

  • @JoseJimeniz I'm referring to "Ardi" who wasn't a modern day Human but a hominid...so Ill give you half a point for that as I should have specified..however the point still stands firm that people have existed long before others imposed there will over groups via education systems and such.

People only have to look back at our origins to realize all boundaries in life are created by others and not by some divine destiny. Thus lies the path to spiritual freedom.

  • @wizehop Oh i knew what you were doing. Boundaries and limits have only been put on us recently. Those rules are so small compared to the larger picture.

But, the line just stuck out at me, *4.4 million years? Ummm, that doesn't sound right to me.*

  • Wow! thats cool!!! I just realized it was a year ago when you rode in the well car.

  • @104trucker time sure does fly. I was actually just riding again with Duel last week

  • "Don't *waist* your life..." Well atleast it had a Mark Twain quote.

  • How far did you guys travel?

  • @Griminal that trip not too far

  • I want to hop a train!!! Any tips?

  • @nwillgus research..lots of it :)

  • Wow, that was so cool; i live in NJ and would love to do that...unfortuantly im 16 and have no where to go.

  • @johnyboy087 doesn't matter where you live..if you want it bad enough you will find a way..trains go everywhere

  • I always wanted to. Is it a felony?

  • @ancientears1 depends where you get caught and who catches you..most of the time they will just give you a ticket if you play nice

  • @wizehop My friend works for Norfolk Southern and he told me the RR police are a bunch of rednecks that would beat the shit out of anyone they catch.

  • @ancientears1 its possible but in all my years I havent heard of that ever happening.

  • so dope!

  • Great video man! So i bet your a major railbuff to!

  • @Tcostello105 I am..was way before I even started riding trains

  • looks like you're in montreal at the end

  • @carlosnachos it is :)

  • why do I have etched in my mind an epic train crash on/at the bridge seen at 2:30?

  • @RobertMOdell maybe a model train crash with that little fire......I think something like that would probobly end my train days, both as a foamer and a rider.

  • @wizehop I think the odds of a train crash are actually higher than a car crash.

  • @RobertMOdell Im fully expecting that day to come.

  • Beautiful video! Very well done, and edited together perfectly! 5/5

I just have one question. Do you guys know why the train was stopped, then picked up speed, and then stopped again around 3:15 - 3:31, or were those two different trains?

Love the Mark Twain reference by the way!

    Thanks,

    Graeme

  • @WampusGK Thanks man.....They were different trains. The first one was leaving the yard heading East and we were catching a train heading west. It was a big train yard and there were lots of trains. The scene where we are climbing up over the hill is a different place from where we had been running form. The first time we ran up the hill we walked back along the train but couldn't find a good ride, so we got back into the woods at the end of the yard. For the next train we had to run back.

  • yo i hope train here in wilmington NC, i've seen wizehop tagged around her befor on some cars

  • @Websters52 Nice man, I haven't really tagged any freights in a while..not sure why but just never think of it anymore...glad to know there getting around even if I'm not!

  • very cool vid! be careful riding those suicides though, very very dangerous!

  • Great Video!

  • Those human remains are streching back to about 6.3 million years now wizehop.

  • @tprdfh51 Great, now I have to re edit the whole thing! ;)...

  • I've been out your way. Nicer ride than thru T.O.

  • I think I know Duel......

  • @TheSlimrider from where?

  • Saw Duel filming 03/08/10 at CPR North Toronto sub near Dupont Ave. around 1100hrs - dudes, black is the absolute worst colour choice if you don't want to be seen!

  • @tprdfh51 man not sure how you though it was DUEL, he was in Montreal all month.

  • @wizehop then he has a twin brother with a camera.

  • @tprdfh51 I whould say a twin brother with a camera wearing all black!

  • Great stuff!! Thank you for your wunderful videos!

  • excellent video with incredible music choice.

  • This is a great video and the music is magic!

  • felt like i was there. awesome man! Gotta love windows movie maker too huh?

  • @DoobieD ya man, its all I really got but it does the trick...most of the time

  • I knew it was toronto lol

  • @2manynoobsonrs no Toronto in this vid, not even Ontario

  • @2manynoobsonrs La Belle' Province Quebec.

  • wow tht was awesome i wud love to do that someday

  • Id love to do this!!! such an amazing adventure

  • shit hurts my back when they pull the e-brake and were goin 15mph. instant stop

  • I was planning to hitch hike from toronto to Fredericton with my bivy in few weeks to go to a wedding any thoughts about hopping?

  • @fatinthemiddle well you could ride to Edmundston or Moncton, however its a bit of a tour from Toronto..if you have never ridden trains before I wouldn't recommend undertaking the trip, It can be a bit complicated. You could try a shorter ride.

  • Another great video here! Your editing gets better and better!

  • Well done. Something I would never have considered. Editing is great. Thanx for sharing.

  • i like your little theory about the way people should be living, but i was wondering what your doing other than jumping on slowmoving trains to try and fix it.. or is that as far as it goes hero

  • @ytfrtnmhfm actually I climb on stopped trains..if you know where they stop then you never need to catch moving ones. There is nothing to fix..the world is the way it is..its up to people to live their lives how they want, not by what others say they should want.

  • @wizehop even more dangerous and life-threatening. And i completely agree with you , except i wonder what your living for? just for the exhileration of trainhopping? If you followed your thoughts to their logical conclusions you would agree that using the argument "its the way it is" is a little childish and simply a way to ignore realities instead of facing them...?

  • @ytfrtnmhfm man I have no idea what your talking about here. I am not ignoring any reality what so ever..I am enjoying my life...I have a good job, I own rental properties, I have traveled the world numerous times and I do a lot more than just riding trains, I do what ever I want as a matter of fact. I accepted reality a long time ago and its the reason I am free to do what I want now. What is anyone living for..Jesus Christ? Budda? Mohamed? please clarify your point?

  • @wizehop I guess im trying to hard to start an argument, im not sure why really..

i just feel like if someone really believes that people around them are living their lives in a lie, he should try to do something to fix that, give them awareness of their situation.. I agree with your ideas; so should i just live my life and have a great time or try to show people truth so they can think for themselves as well? Basically is it a big free for all or are we in this together..

  • @wizehop have you heard the allegory of Plato's cave? Whats the right thing to do - stay away from the cave and have a great time, frolicking in the newfound sunlight, or go back down there and set everyone free, even if it means you never leave..

  • @ytfrtnmhfm The problem here is that its only my perspective, I cant really tell people how to live their lives because there is no one way to live. Some people dont want to be rescued and thats fine. Whether there to afraid to break free or they just like being herded its not my business. All we can do is share our experiences with each other and let people get from it what they may.....The fact is we will never have a concrete resolution on life as long as we are living.

  • @wizehop I guess i feel compassion for people who do not have either the intelligence or the strength of will to break free from situations and lives that truly imprison them, and this makes me want to help them in any way I can.. We may never have an absolute resolution but if there are degrees of concreteness, then as our human impulses for empathy and compassion demand, must we help progress the lesser aware individuals? Or does a more concrete definition of life demand individualism..

  • @ytfrtnmhfm Unfortunately I don't think there is a set answer for that. The problem is who is to say that my way of thinking, or your way is "the way is should be". And what direction is progress.... It all comes down to perspective and the only truth is that all concepts are man made..wright, wrong, good bad... doesn't really exists. There is no such thing as progress. The reality is every one is right where they want to be.

  • @wizehop "...It all comes down to perspective and the only truth is that all concepts are man made..wright, wrong, good bad... doesn't really exists..."

"Good" and "bad/evil" exists wizehop - I know...I have been there. It's where the monsters are.

  • @tprdfh51 Do the monsters know there evil?

  • @wizehop Maybe...but I doubt they would care even if they did. BTW - great soundtrack for this video.

  • @tprdfh51 why thank you Mr. Hughes

  • @ytfrtnmhfm oh and I just looked over your profile and if your going to waist my time with a God argument then this discussion is over.

  • @wizehop i never even mentioned god its been a while since i ever even did in a conversation. i thought you would understand my points i suppose i was wrong. Read some Plato it'll do you some good.

  • @ytfrtnmhfm I was referring to some of the videos you favorited in your profile.

  • Fuckin' awsome. Wize your vids are like a blowjob for my eyes, man

    Also, rep StP

  • @TehKoolOne sick I love blowjobs!

  • Man... you got some great vids. Can't wait for my first trip east in the summer.

    - Goggles

  • @nousername102 thanks man, I guess east is the only way you can go!

  • @wizehop Haha yea. Although somehow I'm gonna have to avoid SK and MB cause of them stories saying that they ain't too friendly about travelers.

    - Goggles

  • I get such a kick out of your vids! I really want to feel that moving steel.

  • @Dullbedsitblogger Thanks man

  • the only line worth riding is the steal one eh?

  • @obrother1828 exactly, the rest don't exists!

  • FUCK PEOPLE WHO SAY i GOTTA LIVE THERE WAY...WORD WIZEHOP..THIS IS THE AGE OF INFORMATION..ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE RELIGION IS ON ITS KNEES. PROPS FOR STICKEN TO WHAT YOU LOVE
