The man responsible for the Virtual Boy was also the man who dreamt up the Game Boy and, before that, the Game & Watch. Apparently the failure of the VB finished him at Nintendo.
Never played the Virtual Boy meself. Probably not many people have.

Gunpei Yokoi RIP. He's also responsible for the WonderSwan, which is a nice bit of kit imo.
