I was going through my friends garage looking for some gloves and I came across a long forgotten stash of SNES games. This gem was among them, and it brought back memories of how enthralling it was back then. This song in particular, which blended perfectly with the cavern environment, was especially captivating.
DK used to have some of the best video game music ever made, hands down. To me it's right up there with Zelda, Crono Trigger, Tales of Symphonia and other RPGs where music tends to be a much more important element IMHO.
Right up there, I think some of the songs are just past all those. Donkey Kong's soundtrack was just amazing and very memorable I haven't touched the SNES game in forever, but I still remember some of those tunes and I first played this game when I was about 5 or 6 years old.
yeah definitely one of the best DK songs. Bramble Scramble is my top one, but this is one is second... btw I'm pretty sure this one is called Fear Factory.
Why the hell don't they make games like this anymore. Just because a god damn system has the power to make crazy good looking 3D games doesn't mean it absolutely has too... I would buy a Wii or 360 (already got PS3) if they made games like they used to.
I think we might be better off with a Donkey Kong Greatest Hits series: Stickerbush Symphony, Kannon's Klaim, Aquatic Ambience, Fear Factory, Winky's Walkway (called Mining Melancholy) and all of the K. Rool boss fights as some of the top picks.
I also loved the Donkey Kong Country music but I only played the 1st and 2nd games.....can you recommend some themes from the third game that you like?
dude....imagine wasps that actually look like that! =O
