  • This video is WONDERFUL! I play jew's harps from alla over the world, I throat sing and play many wind instruments. I have one question: what's that flute similar to a persian ney at 1:30?

    Thank you.

  • oramakoma buramako!

  • tashimasu tashimasu

  • What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :)

  • so, when does the japanese dialog end and the throat singing begin??

  • It's mostly in the first two minutes or so-- when the Mongolian man throat-sings simultaneously with his flute, but it comes back for a few seconds in the aerial shot of the lake.

  • what might also be interesting is the magen-David symbol is fire and water- like Yin/yang

and then the outside the Yin yang is the pioints of the star in Taoism

Mandala- which is also in i South asia

course that could just be fun with symbols

  • jew harp?what

  • cool, i'm hearing the jews harp too. didn't know they play it. awesome.

  • nearly every culture in the world plays the jews harp or something very much like it - I find this fascinating - the bamboo ones from Indonesia sound really cool.

  • i honestly didn't know a lot of people, even in america, plays the jews harp until recently.

i thought it was unique to this particular group in asia.. my knowledge of that spread though out asia and later to the western world. i'm amazed how many cultures out there play it but a lot of people i know don't know or have heard of the jew's harp before.

  • This is very nice to see. Tradition of Tsuur flute is dying out, so this is great addition on youtube. Thanks!!
