Nice truck, nice compactor also, but i guess this compactor is not work by hydraulic system, it work by motor to turn the packer blade, so maybe can not hold down bulk waste like furniture.
That truck is just like we had here from 1977 to about 1987.Only ours were alot bigger but had that continuous packer deal just the same as that one.Eric the ones we had here would empty big loaded dumpsters too.I do remember when they came by our house a few times i saw it jam on trash that would wedge inbetween the blade and they would reverse it.They had their problems i watched them alot back then. They could never ever handle couches or big chairs.
This is a Fuji Mighty, first built in 1962 under License by Gar Wood (USA), a copy of their LP-600. They remain in production in Asia long after disappearing in the states. Note the continuous packing cycle, something OSHA would never allow in the states!

Kind of a replica of the old DSNY Heil Collectomatic RL from many yrs ago in NYC! But would really suck big time for bulk collections!

Very cool! I have not seen the type of packer since the early 1980s. I don't think that truck could handle all the bulk on my route.

Thanks! That is a very unique packer assembly on that. I noticed how the blade has a 'chrome' look to it.
