Waikiki is terrible we had like 12 sewerage spills already and the government kept it quiet because the tourists are only Japanese.

@GigglingGirI sorry to hear of the sewage spills it happens here on the east coast of Florida where tourists are too. I think its a shame and they should get offf their rears and do something. We can send a man to the moon. Really I would make Waikiki the last place to visit , not interested in tourist traps. I respect all lands and know theres good and bad. lived in Phoenix area which is a meth capital. I know Hawaii has an Ice problem which is sad also.

@34sunbunpart2 the real HAWAII is not very nice really dirty place the roads are dirty if you dont believe me look at google maps you will see our dirty smelly island.

The government dump the sewage into the ocean canal where Waikiki is full of tourists. Graffiti everywhere, homeless people every where, drug addicts everywhere, and most of the beaches have no shower :( so if you swim you will be uncomfortable all day with sticky ocean water on your skin.

@34sunbunpart2 You should definitely go, its a great experience even if you don't surf. Plenty of things to do on Oahu, like visit the Dole Fruits place, look at fish and other cool stuff. I had a blast when I was a kid. Plan on going there again soon.

I just got back from Waikiki .. the 2011 Tsunami did not do any damage in waikiki nor Oahu (the island honolulu and waikiki is in ) :-) The tsunami did hit big island but not as bad as Japan.

Learned to surf and bodyboard there. The waves are bigger there than the caribbean from what i've seen. Weather remains in the low 80s Farenheit almost everyday. Definitely rent the moped for 24 hours there (there is a no helmet law) and learn to surf, go to Duke's restaurant and enjoy the beach.

@98aoc I went to hawaii for a week,ill never go again bc its very expensive & boring.no double cheese burgers at mcdonalds & the hamburgers are about 3 bucks.waikiki is small.our beaches are way better.pearl harbor memorial is just a white shack..nothing great about it.food sucks... hardly any pretty girls..u would be lucky if u seen 1 per day.hotels charge 4 parking as well,not cheap..u have 2 be rich 2 have fun there,but theres really nothing 2 do..i want my money back

The last significant tsunami on any island was really 1960 and was mostly the Big Island.
