This is why it is good to have a latina woman in the court because she will understand things that the homogeneous group of white people on the court won't.

There is a qualitative difference between a DUI case and a case that would be heard by the Supreme Court. The reason it's made it that far is because it isn't black and white, so the justices need to INTERPRET the constitution and determine whether or not the plantiff's rights were violated. As Whoopi pointed out, if it were as cut-and-dry as Elisabeth makes it out to be, we would have computers do it.

Well, I Judge Judy is an excellent judge she recieved praise and all kinds of promotions and had a very successful career as a judge. You can have EMPATHY for someone's situation, and still not agree with them. I think Elizabeth is a little confused on what Empathy means. I can empathize with someone who is a drunk; however, I don't agree that they should be driving while they are drunk. I disagree that interpreting the law should be done without 'feelings'.
