No, but in the last few months of his life he did change his views on Some points of Jihad like Killing Innocent Christians as a response to Christians killing innocent muslims for no reason.

Brother you have the right to disagree and may Allah reward you for your time and effort to learn about the Deen. The issue mentioned by Shaykh Anwar is not about have Love or No Love but rather its about "Loving more than Your own Self". And Shaykh Anwar mentioned, i have heard from many scholars and i dont know if it exists in a Sahi hadeeth or not but indeed what he said is true. The Example which you gave of the person that was whipped, indeed he loved Allah and his messenger.

Our beloved shaykh anwar awlaki is indeed a true inspiration to us all. A Shaheed Insha'Allah.

He rejected the life of comfort and benefit in the west and joined the ranks of the Mujahideen to assist the religion, he is someone who devotedly sacrificed his time, wealth and life entirely for the sake of Allah.

We pray Allah Bless him with the Highest of Jannah. His Legacy will live on through the Believers.

I don't understand where some of this hatred between religions is coming from? I notice a lot of similar concepts preached, between Christianity and Islam. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the New & Old testament part of the Quran?

And what he says at the start, goes for everyone- you need to put effort and time in for God, not when the time suits you best!

There are many similarities between Islam and Christianity. But with that there are also some Major Differences. The Similarities are a proof that the Source of the Scriptures is the Same. but later on the Torah and Injeel were Corrupted which alot biblical scholars today accept. The Quran was protected and its protection is from Allah and thats why we have the exact same Quran as it was 1431 years ago.

@LifewithAllah Indeed akhi the sheikh is very wise and that is his interpretation however the messenger of Allah told Ummar and I beleive it is in one of Al Awlakis talks which I enjoy very much that "you have not complete faith until you love me more than your own self" so the implication that the sheikh is making here is that if we disobey a hadith (of course we mean weakness not defiance) that we have put our self's before Mohamamd sws and not completed faith, this is too far it appears

We dont accuse them nor are we allowed in Islam to falsely accuse any one. You are welcome to study islamic literature and freely ask questions on Islam when ever you need to.
