  • I love his awesome delivery of every joke.

  • holy shit I'm angered that Jimmy Fallon is even mentioned in reference to Norm Macdonald. If comedy was baseball Norm is in the majors and Jimmy Fallon is little league, minors at best. Norms humor is simply of much better quality.

  • not funny

  • @TheINFJGuy you are clueless

  • One of the first Youtube videos I ever watched.

  • so Canadian

  • Check my stand up on my page yall and remember my name cuz u will be hearing it

  • @FullyAutoMathmatics

Damn right, i'll support you all the way from the UK man, you will make it big!

  • "Man, you don't look a day past zero!" - genius.

  • love Norm

  • I love the end, "I love you"

    So Norm Macdonald

  • he's gotten a lot less canadian over the years

  • He's Norm from Fairly Oddparents too, LOLZ

  • This is probably his worst performance.

  • hahaa this is the funniest thing ever.

  • you have to listen to what he's saying when you aren't expected to laugh. The reason I find him so funny is because he's doing more of an exposition of an internal dialogue than a comedy routinue. please note the 'there' and recognize that it is as canadian as eh.

  • HAAAHA! My hero...

  • 4:48 "What would you do to me if I were a popsicle?

    My answer:

Well, I'd put you in the freezer until I'm ready for you.

    ....Where are you going?

  • A well thumbed copy of Catcher in the Rye sticking out of his back pocket.

And it went over all their heads, that's what was funny.

  • @acf7597 jimmy fallon is WEAK SAUCE. his funniest moments on SNL include him destroying scenes by laughing during the rare occurrences in which he was actually funny. Late Night is unwatchable compared to what it used to be with Conan (literally ?uestlove is the best part of the show).

  • Norm voiced death for 1-2 episodes, and then Adam Carolla took over.

  • Fuck, he was so skinny...

  • Is that Emilio Estevez at 5:27?

  • DEATHHH!

  • im sorry but jimmy fallon doesnt hold a candle to norm.just my opinion and u know what they say.

  • @seanmahon101

Jimmy Fallon is as funny as burnt toast.

  • @seanmahon101 I have no idea what they say about opinions...but hey, check out this thing. It's called an ass hole. Yeah, I've got one. Jealous? ;p

  • @Billinois78 I believe u may have mis counted.

  • @seanmahon101

If he had his own show I;d watch it all day.

  • @heatbucspies55 Norm did end up having his own show

  • @pearo358

I know, but it's not on now. I didn't know about him back then.

And I did watch the sports show.

  • @pearo358

I know, i ddin't really know of him back then.

I did watch the sports show, I wish he had one now though.

  • @heatbucspies55 he did it was called Norm and it was on ABC and there are whole episodes available.

  • @seanmahon101 Why are we even comparing the two? Other than the fact that they both anchored Weekend Update, they're completely different comedians with completely different senses of humor. They're both talented in their own right and I don't think it's fair to compare the two.

  • @BurntLeftovers How is Fallon Talented??????????? Like I said -He does not hold a candle to NORM. NEVER WILL OR COULD. I can not remember one not even one thing that Fallon did that made me genuinely laugh. But Norm Rarely speaks without making me laugh.

  • I really like his type of sense of humor. And he looks and sounds like he belongs in the 1950's( just not so much with his hair here) ...which is cool.

  • I done that drean thing so many times i wake up and think Fuck now its back to my actual shitty life

  • I stand to gain nothing by this lie lol

  • My absolute favorite thing that the does, is he tells you about how he does something normal, and then asks you if you ever did it, Always.

"I was walking to my car, you ever walk to your car?, thats a good thing, walking to your car..."

  • @thewolf011 YOU SUCK for saying that!!!! He's incredible!

  • Damn, Norm looks so skinny here!

  • This slipped my mind until now, but I totally had this whole routine memorized when I was a kid.... this must have been around 1988 or so.

  • dear youtube C if u can follow me here ok-if i search norm macdonald and i watch a video with say him and letterman.Well my options after are all letterman. No consideration given for my original seacrh criteria.i get that there is more letterman but maybe i still want to see norm bc thats what i wanted to see.

    thank you.

  • eerie premonition of rodney alcala @04:00

  • he has a really famillier voice

  • @MrKite1996 bob dylan?

  • @braindamagehurts44 Norm MacDonald

  • "I was gonna lie there again"

  • 31 people are O.J. Simpson sympathizers

  • gee he isnt canadian at all.

  • @beantownjunkie77

This video was filmed in ontario...

  • @whiteej21 LOOL probably XD but nevertheless he is funny as hell

  • LOL. His sports bit. I feel that way about poker as a "sport".

  • what's great about him is that he can make anything funny and with no aid of swearing... Norm (Y)!!

  • is he Canadian

  • is he canadian

  • He has one facial expression.

  • his voice is so different... like deeper how old was he here

  • I havent worked out for uh.. ever! lol

  • They cut out THE BEST PART of the popsicle bit. After he breaks her in two he says....."I'd save half of you in the freezer for later...."

  • He always comes up with new material too... Norm is the most hilarious and most prolific comedian ever!!!

  • the popsicle part kills me lmao

  • what are ya? 0?

  • Ima bring back "Gork"

  • If at first you don't succed, cliff diving is not for you

  • Aww that's nice...he said he loves us! Thanks Norm!

  • 2 classes of cliff-diving...grand champion and stuff on a rock! LMAO!!!

  • ya dare

  • his canadian accent is thick here holy crap, I've never heard him like that before.

  • haha, he sounds like larry d. purvison here with all the 'deres

  • Lmao, it's like Gervais says - You can't laugh at somebody you don't like. And, I don't know that much about Norm I just was randomly tryna find some of his stand-up here as I remember him from a kid.

Some people just stick in your mind. It's his small eyes and dimples but cool voice too, he's an endearing person, so you can just listen to him and laugh for ages.

The bit about being 0 was fucking funny.

  • 2:22 wtf, whose voice is that saying something like "nenya" or "hangman" or something... strange.

  • it's death!

  • @AshleeGantonSinging hah hah, lol. awesome. I felt bad when he broke his foot.

  • Is just me or does Norm sound like Christian Slater?

  • there is more to that joke at the end. after he presses her against the counter, he eats half of her and puts the rest of her in the freezer

  • Losers at cliff diving should have "2nd place at cliffdiving" on their tombstones.

  • run a 100 yards then fish thats hilarious

  • Normy!

  • Yeah this is a Canadian accent. He's from Quebec but he sounds like people from Northern Ontario.

  • he souds like bob dylon

  • the way he talks he reminds me of cliff claven from cheers

  • If you know what I mean!

  • this is gold.

  • LMFAO half of why he's so fucking awesome is all on his delivery. lol

  • Lawnmower man! hehe!

  • "what are you zero?" this man is awesome.

  • wheres he from? man he lost that accent

  • @dsgrntld04 He's Canadian.. That's the weird accent you're hearing.

  • "...a well-thumbed copy of catcher in the rye sticking out of his back pocket..." Norm is a genius.

  • I did that save half in the freezer routine at the end in my head and it gets a good laugh.

  • They cut off the punch line to his popsicle routine:

Press you against the counter and break you in two....

Save half of you in the FREEZER FOR LATER!

  • wow i never noticed his accent till now

  • maybe because hes the voice for death...

  • @MrPeterseamountain and Norm the Genie from Fairly Odd Parents

  • @MrPeterseamountain : Or maybe that's Adam Corolla.

  • @MrPeterseamountain what do you mean

  • i think thats adam corolla.

  • Norm did Death the first time the character was in the show. Every time after was Adam.

  • @EdudLufetips

    they both did

  • i didn't check, but i'm sure it was him doing the voice. or an imitation.

  • I like the way Norm says "I love you!" at the end to the crowd.

  • RIP JD Salinger

  • norm sounds like he could be a very bad mumbler sometimes lol

  • i love how theres nothing fake about him

  • @crazyloverboy0808 that's why i like him the best. he is a genuine cool guy & of course the funniest.

  • @crazyloverboy0808 easily the most real comedian ever

  • @crazyloverboy0808 thats cause hes canadian

  • @crazyloverboy0808 there is, and there isn't. But when he does fake he does so intentionally to make people laugh :)

  • norm foreva

  • if you dont understand the joke, maybe listen to it a couple of times before asking dumb questions

  • funny stuff

  • There was no transitions at all lol

  • My GOD. Listen to dat Canadian accent der! Ya know?

  • 2:22 - 2:23

    What the fuck was that?

    "Don't look a day past..*eingya* zero."

  • glitch

  • @eliasmurray haha that fucking startled me

  • You should watch when he was on Conan and with the wife from According to Jim. Norm is the king of wit

  • That last joke was perfect.

  • what did he say? press u against the counter till you're broken too?

  • ...press u against the counter till you're broken IN TWO.

  • NORM IS VERY SMART! I had caps on by accident, but I am lazy

  • Lol Norm MacDonald is hilarious

Does any1 know what he says for the punchline to the popsicle joke? I can't hear what he says for that bit lol

  • I think it's "Then I'd press you up against the counter until you're broke in 2"

  • wheres the part when he tells about the guy who says the devil made him do it??! etc..

  • he sounds like hes high

  • He isn't high or drunk, he's Norm MACdonald.

  • He always sounds like that.

    Norm is fucking hilarious.

  • he was high on butane fumes

  • Brilliant obeservation. You are clueless.

  • wow im just saying theres no need for sarcasm man

  • his voice is so different now

  • His accent was much stronger. "there" as "der" for example.

  • Comic genius

  • Can't get any more likeable than this guy:)

  • I agree

  • The most awkward comedian. But one of the greats :)

  • norm is the fucking man so funny

  • "You don't look a day past Zero."

  • norm macdonald is probably the funniest guy in the world. His comedy style is an awkward stumbling conversation. I think he is funnier now in 2000's. This is from the 70's or 80's.

  • I agree

  • 80's

  • 80's for sure

  • i'd say early nineties

  • yeah i agree that he's gotten funnier. his jokes at this time seem like just any stand-up, though still funny and with a unique style, he didn't really come into his own until snl and after, and his newer 2000s style of sort of dark, self-deprecating anti-humor is some of the funniest stuff i've ever seen. he never got as much mainstream popularity as he deserves

  • at this point in his career i would have thought he was doing shtick. but no, this is norm macdonald. guys great.

  • he's just one of those comedians that can say an unfunny thing and make it hilarious

  • great post, very cool to see this.

  • hes so skinny

  • funny guy

  • Absolutely stunning; he's as witty as Conan, but he also has this very unique way of performing (the trademark 'there', that he throws in after almost every sentence, and of course the muttering, yet incredibly funny, articulation D;D).

    Talented, but sadly very underrated..

  • @Hopeataala i know saadly underrated. & f'n snl for firing him. gawd how can they not face the truth that he was the only funny... on that lame show. well, they were jealous. lol. folks should subscribe to his ch to support him - norm macDonald official.

  • @Hopeataala

I think that's his Canadian accent.

  • @Hopeataala thats not unique ......listen to any canadian over forty and they all say there like its there job, there

  • @Hopeataala I don't think that 'there' is trademark, it's just Canadian.

  • Good comic, i want his accent:-)

  • He grew up fairly close to the area where I live, and there's tons of people who talk like him here. They even say "there" as much as he does.

  • Bull

  • Not at all.

  • You're right you're not lying. I grew up in that area too. I was friends with Norm, we used to play baseball after school. I think i saw you there, with those shoes you always used to wear.

  • what area is that?

  • Comment removed

  • Southern Ontario

  • shut up.

  • About what?

  • guork?

    am I spelling that correctly?

nah, but i love norm, he gets me with that accent :)

  • wow i saw this when i was a kid on channel 4 late night comedy hour.

  • is it just me, or does that stand up guy john caparulo, you know the guy who's on chelsea lately and has a stand up special on comedy central, completely fuckin rip off norm. look him up...it seems like his whole character, jokes and all are just a redneck version of norm....he sucks.

  • the dream bit was another bit Dane Cook stole

  • The audience is horrible, he literally has to explain the jokes to get them to laugh.

  • idiot

  • Yes, you are.

  • That's is on the other hand very typical for Norm

  • this vid is too quite.. can still hear my wife

  • @axdexter23 quiet...

  • @axdexter23 maybe if you were smart enough to spell quiet you wouldnt have gotten married either

  • @EazyTarantino maybe if you werent spending time being a spell nazi on youtube you would get laid
