  • in your guys opinion, this guitar or the epiphone les paul ultra

  • Nice Finish on the C1 - Like the Coil Tap. Nice build on these. Nice Demo Patches

DO YOU GET ANY LES PAUL GRUNT OUT OF THE C1?

Ignore my chanel (NEW - Under construction) - Just Franka potete from Born movie. LOL- Nothing to do with guitars LOL -

  • What about the weight of this guitar? Is it heavy? or ..

  • I have this same exact guitar and i love it. It kicks all of my friend's guitars haha:) Once you get the action all fixed and such, its pretty much unbeatable.

  • @OakPark11MileRd I love it when they try to demo a sound with overdrive on, it's just like WTF?

  • I have the older C1 Plus model. The coil tap is sorely missed on this model because it's simply too dark (mahogany body and neck) for the zingy funkier stuff. I think the maple neck on the new C1 model also helps bring out the brighter tones. Anyway, just a warning for anyone buying a used C1 Plus - check it's the new model!

  • How does just one push/pull pot split BOTH pickups?

  • @bfv102290 Extra pins in the push/pull switch. Nothing unusual.

  • It's a really useful feature for the gain channel. For some reason I think the metal tones sound alot more.. guitar-like when pulled out. I have a Schecter Hollywood Classic.

  • this the PERFECT guitar for me. i play lots of things from ballsy death metal, to eric johnson type of blues, to shawn lane type of stuff, to buckethead type of stuff. i need both a humbucker and single coil tone to satisfy all those needs, and for comfort i prefer schecetrs, mahogany bodies and necks and good quality rosewood. it doesn't get any better than this :)

  • Is it weird that I lol'd when he said "peace out motherfuckers"?

  • @siththomas definantly not :P

  • haha i heard coheed and cambria light and the glass NICE

  • @OakPark11MileRd im not going to lie thats what im looking for hahahahahaha. oh god.

  • Schecter are amazing! im getting a Schecter Omen Extreme!!

  • so exactly how do you tap the coil tap?

  • @bladeedge44 This is actually a feature on this and some other model Schecter guitars. There are some instructions out on the web to do the wiring. What is nice about the Schecter is (and I'm not even going into the great quality of their guitars), its no fuss, no muss. If you like to tinker though, there is info out there. I have a Schecter C1 5 string bass that I like so much, I've decided to buy a Hellraiser. (EMG's) Best guitars for the money, in my opinion. Peace. ps Nice playing Patches91

  • You pull the tone knob.

  • Jusy pull the tone/volume knob for the neck/bridge pickups, respectively.

  • The first thing you play there, really nice and groovey ! :D

  • really nice setup, especially the schecter cuase there amazing haha

  • yay vk user

im looking into a new guitar for x-mas and im thinking of either finding a used c-1 classic on ebay or a esp ltd ec-1000 in amber

  • yay vk user wo0t

im looking oto a new gtar for xmas im thing mabey findin a c-1 clasic on ebay of and esp ltd ec-1000 in amber

  • @GuernB2 I own the ltd ec-1000 amber and I've loved it ever since day one... but then again i switched out the regular seymour duncan pickups with Seymour duncan p-rail pickups :D and added push pull pots as the toggle switch for the pickups

  • Very nice tone. You have a Hendrix type of playing style

  • black cherry finish rocks!!

  • Im selling my Schecter c-1 plus for about £380 is any1 interested?

  • lol

    "Peace out mother fuckers"

    thats classic

  • yo man my friend wants to trade me his c-1 plus for my Epi Lp standard plus top, would i be getting screwed if i traded him ? i bought it when it was $650 american, and idk the price range of the schecter

  • c1+ new is 600ish

  • oh shit im bout 2 do that then

he had it on craigslist for 350 so i didnt know what i was getting in2

  • schecter is $500 so it depends if u like it better

  • well, now it's at 400 at GC..

  • freakin sweet playin man, props on the funk sounds towards the beginning =)

  • Great guitar for the money. Have you played the C1 Classic? I wonder if it has the fretboard dots on top so you can see what fret your playing at due to the vine of life going all the way down the fretboard? Also, how do you like your Peavey Amp?

  • The classic does have the dots on the side of the neck so you never get lost. i bought mine almost a year ago now and its my favorite out of all the others i have including my Gibson SG

  • i bought this guitar today in drk brwn sunburst very sexy guitar love the shape of these shecters ibanez and fenders...not the oval ones. and it sounds great i love the performance out of this guitar in clean havent quite played around with distorion.

  • very nice

i'm doing this to my ibanez iceman

and very nice on the CO & CA

  • great demonstration. i like your style of playin

  • Aha Coheed Ace! Im getting one of the Schecter Omen Extreme Seven Strings you see and that has a coil tap great video for explanation (y)

  • great vid thanks

  • looks like a sweet guitar i own a schecter c1 exotic it just got discontinued

  • mine doesnt have it...

  • neither does mine. you have the outdated version of the hellraiser :\ it sucks i know. still a great guitar though :)

  • I read somewhere 'I'm trying to find the link again" that when Schecter switched in 2005 to the newer models that the quality was left a little bit more questionable because cheaper componets were introduced. Mines a 2003 what year is yours?

  • hey i just got one like three to four days ago and i was wondering is this guitar good for distortion playing like metallica because i also bought an Raven RG amp and it kind of dosent give me the sound for some metallica songs please someone write me a good review about it

  • Metallica uses BIG BIG amps and guitars with high gain pickups

i would call these pickups.. med-high gain.

  • metallica actually uses these same pickups in their guitars...

  • actually no they dont. they use EMGs

  • thats what 81 and 89 active pickups are... EMG 81 and 89 active pickups. look it up.

  • oh sorry i thought u were talking about the pickups that come with the c-1 plus

  • the c-1 plus doesnt use EMG's. the c-1 hellraiser uses EMG's.

  • nevermind my mistake! i was thinking of the C-1 hellraiser O.o which uses the 81 and 89 active pickups.

  • @patches91 do you think it can be nice for me if I basically play heavyrock and bluesrock with also something jazzy or pop sometimes?

  • @patches91 Buy a distortion pedal! like a Mega Distortion, Metalcore, MetalMuff,

or a overdrive to add por punch and sustain.

  • get a metal distortion pedal and you'll get pretty close.

  • @kennykiloz You can try to scoop the mids on your amp to get a heavier sound.

  • @kennykiloz But carried on from what patches91 said, if you like the feel of the guitar but you dont think it gives enough gain, slam some EMG HZ's on there or some seymour duncan invaders or something like that, and if your playing metal, the chances are you wont be using your neck pick up that much, so save some cash and dont replace it :) as for the amp im presuming u got one now since its a year later but if ya dont marshall mode 4 would probably be good for you :) glad i could help :)

  • @kennykiloz get an electro harmonix micro metal muff. its like 70$ and its perfect... although this was a long time ago so im sure youv solved your problem

  • @kennykiloz I have heard bad things about raven amps

  • @kennykiloz heyy wana something good for metallica?

if you can afford a randall KH 120 buy it if u cant buy a randall KH 75 and don ever buy the KH 15 cuz it sucks

and now for the guitar try to get a kirk hemmett or james hitfield signature guitar ... the one with EMG pickups

last thing you need is guitar tuning (which mostly standard and D standard ... depends on the song) and the amp setting ( i duno what the settings are bec i don play metallica much)

  • @msbj10 Getting Metallica's sound or tone doesnt mean going out and buying all the shitty knock offs of their actual equipment.

  • @tfotrulezd00d i know but u have to buy the shitty things to get their actual tone

  • @msbj10 If you bought the stuff they use to get their ACTUAL tone, nothing you'd buy would be shitty.

  • @tfotrulezd00d its shitty to me cuz they r not good enough for my style

  • @msbj10 And whats so high and mighty about your style that metallica's tone isnt "good enough" for you ?? Metallica's not my fav band by far, but they've got a sick set up and sound. Better than stuff you and I both have I'm absoultely positive. And anyone who refuses to realize that just because they play "heavier" stuff and say theyre into more "darker" metal is fucking ignorant.

  • @msbj10 Dude what's so high and mighty about your style that Metallica's tone isnt "good enough" for you ?? Metallica's not my favorite band by far. Seriously. But they have a sick ass set up and sound. And anyone who refuses to acknowledge or realize that just because they play "heavier" stuff and say theyre into more "darker" metal is fucking ignorant. Sorry man.

  • @tfotrulezd00d 1st i don like thire tone i like slayer or all that remains tone

my gear is b.c rich trace warbeast T with EMG 81X/60X and an original floyd rose

    and kerry king signature V

    Line 6 Pocket Pod

    Line 6 Pod HD 500

    Marshall Mg 100

these are my gear and to me its alot better than the metallica things

if u also wana know which strings i use , i use dunlop heavy core heavier

and i might get schecter Synester Custom white and gold

  • @msbj10 Bro, i could care less what you use. Its beside my point. But seeing that you use a marshall mg, just a head's up, those amps blow. Completely. I tried one out once, and got the worst tone I couldve imagined. Ive heard better stuff from Crate solid state amps lol.

Your choice in guitars is a bit amateur. Dont go for the knock off's of Pro models. Theyre not good guitars, especially if youre buying them with the intent of trying to get their sound.

  • @msbj10 If all that shit of yours you just named off sounds good to you, more power to you, man. More so, if all that shit you just named off sounds better to you than Metallica's rig, okay. But let's be honest, if that array of run-of-the-mill, low dollar, everyday equipment you own makes a tone that sounds better to you than the rigs of some of the best Metal gods to ever live, who KNOW their shit and how to make it sound amazing, there is something SERIOUSLY fucked up with your ears dude.

  • @tfotrulezd00d to my opinion slayers tone is alot better than metallica and slayer songs are lots better than metallica

and nothing is fucked up in my ears

PS: sorry bec i clicked the dislike button i wanted to click the reply but the stupid moved from my touchpad

  • @msbj10 Opinions are opinions, mate. If you like Slayer's tone and songs better than Metallica's, cuz you think theyre better, dude thats your opinion. Fine, I respect that. But in retrospect, facts are facts. And it is a fact that Metallica's rig sounds better than yours. They have better equipment, it produces a stronger, fuller, more crunchy, and a more (essentially) "metal" tone. If you deny that then youre being a tad ignorant, my friend.

  • @tfotrulezd00d since when randall is better than marshall

and the pod hd 500 have the sound of all the pedals they use i can get the exact tone of thire rig if i want

and the kerry king signature V have an EMG PA2 Pre-amp which adds 20dB to your overdrive which makes a heavier tone

and about the Metallica's rig sounds better than mine ofc it does cuz they use stacks for the amps

    i have a 100wat marshall which isnt a stack

  • @msbj10 Who says Randall's better than Marshall ? Again its a fucking opinion ! Thats great you think you can get all of Slayer's tones and shit, but more overdrive means exactly that. Its more overdrive, and louder overdrive when it's already too much sounds like shit. Not heavier. Just shit on shit. And yes they use stacks, but thats beside the point because you could still match their tone at a lower volume with a halfy.

  • @msbj10 My point from the start was that getting Metallica's tone does NOT mean going out and buying the shitty stuff that's advertised as Metallica's gear, i.e.: "James Hetfield's ESP guitar" or "Kirk Hammet's Signaure Model". It means buying the quality equipment that make up their rig and dialing it all in to match their sound. Also, I think Slayer sucks dicks. That being said, I say good day ignoramus.

  • @tfotrulezd00d what i was sayin if u want to get the exact tone but u can get close to the tone with other equipment like the pod hd500 i have i can get tooo close to get that tone nd btw i don like their gear much

the ones i use are better for me and you know every player have his opinions and the gear he like

and slayer is much better than metallica

metallica was good from 83 to 86 only everything after that i hated how it sounds

at least slayer is good their whole career and they still rock

  • @tfotrulezd00d do you listen to other thrash? Metallica's old tone is alright...at best... the newer shit they have the less I like it.

  • @CrikeyTomatoes I do dude. I'm not the hugest fan of their tone either, but I think part of what made the sound not so great in their older stuff were the old mics and recording methods they used back then. At any rate I totally agree with you on the new albums lol.

  • @kennykiloz Lets jam ha

  • Mother Superior <3

  • Can it get stuck? I own a Scheter C-1 plus but it doesnt move.

  • I got mine for 200 and by far one of the most versable guitar i ever played plus the looks turns head when i take it out of case cherry color

  • I have one of these. I love it. Great vid. Excellent playing!!!

  • I have this same guitar, its awesome, it sounds great distorted and clean, has a very wide range I usually play heavy metal on it and its sick. Its got a nice Fat neck and is comfortable to play. Fantastic guitar for a fantastic price, I got mine for about 700

  • ya they do play good distorted or clean but i got myn for 599 and cuitar center

  • every breath you take is class.

    thanks very helpfull video

  • dude nasty video i am looking to buy this guitar how do u like it?

  • this guitar is godly..

i went to guitarcenter and i saw this guitar... and i just had to play it.... its amazing

  • i played it today, didnt try the coil tap, but its an amazing guitar i'm gettin one

  • i like the guitar... A LOT much its not the sound im looking for.. so i have to keep looking..

  • i went to guitar center and saw this guitar played at least 20 guitars from LTD's to Gretche's and then i picked this bad boy up and god it was amazing i sat there for an hour and fifteen minutes playing it by far the best guitar ive ever played on

  • i love guitar center thats where i got my c-1+

  • Thanks so much for posting this clip, it's so helpful! :)

  • I'm so glad I changed the pick-ups in mine, have a Seymour Duncan SH-11 Custom Custom in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan SH-PG1 Pearly Gates in the neck. Besides the stock pick-up the only other fault I've found with this beautiful guitar is it's a little on the weighty side. I can't believe they discontinued them.

  • it is very sad that they discontinued them. they are such beautiful looking and sounding guitars. the schecter blood moon is the same as the c-1+ except its a 25.5 inch scale.

  • discontinued? i bought mine new from guitar center in april...

  • tell me about it

they are SO hard to get in europe(or the netherlands that is :(

    i realy want a c1 classic in amberburst :B

  • Can you describe the before and after difference in sound when switching the pickups?

  • i have this same guitar and i looove it

  • i have this exact guitar. its soooo sexxyy

    good choice buddy

great playing too, you put it to good use

  • hey thanks for the video.

are those pickups the ones that came with the guitar? or did you change them (and if so what to?) - i couldn't hear if you changed them or not..

    cheers dude

  • those are the original pickups. i have since changed them

  • you are a beast!

  • What genre would you call the second riff you played?

  • isnt it funk?

  • funk/blues/jazz

  • I just got one :) Its nice, Only thing is the pickups are abit hoter then what I am used too, so I have to set my gain on my amp back because the pickups give quite abit of gain.

  • nice job man! you really know how to make a simple setup really dig up some nice tones!

  • Is this model made in 2008? They say, that 2008 Schecters are not really good, and getting worse year after year... But if it's '08, I'd go for it, sounds decent

  • I have an 08...actually, it was made in January, if I read the SN right, but it's built incredibly well. I seriously can't find any flaws in it. People have said the knobs can come off, but I haven't had any issue in build quality. Much better than others in the price range, and a lot of higher-priced guitars.

  • can anyone tell me about the sustain?

is it great? or is it just ok?

  • thanks for that, that was some pretty nice playing! very nice to listen to.

  • is it only the 2008 c-1 plus model who got coil tap pick ups and is it for both pickups?

  • what finish is your c-1 plus? looks awesome.

  • i just bought same setup like 4 days ago.i love it sounds great=D.

  • valve king =]

i have a valve king head and a schecter tempest custom.

  • I picked up a C-1 Plus last Friday...love it so much more than any other guitar I have played.

  • i got a schecter c1 elite KICK ASS BABY HAHA

  • cool guitar, i think i have c1+ and it had duncans alredy.. gunna sell it soon probably

  • A scheter with Humbuckers? AND Coil tap? Fuck I am sold.

  • I know! I gotta check this shit out. I always complained about how some of the Gibsons had high action (more bluesy I guess) but this sounds pretty damn good, WITH coil tap. And this video shows...this mother does not only Do metal. It does much more.

  • I'm gettin this or a PRS SE Singlecut for Christmas...can't wait..

  • This looks like the shit

  • Gonna get one of these babies for christmas :)

    Awesome playing patches, You rock.

  • Damn.. You are soo good =O.. I'm really starting to doubt that I'm good enough for this guitar.

  • Hey great video, but I have a question: Can you tell me how heavy this guitar is? I'm looking for a replacement for my Epiphone Les Paul, now that's an light guitar!

  • its extremely light.. especially cuz of the built thru neck

  • Hey, is the neck thin, thick???

  • you stole my guitar. lol i just got mine today.

  • im lovin the light and the glass part. what do u think of the intonation across the neck did u have to adjust it and what about the sustain thanks :-)

  • Hey Patches91, nice playing and I appreciate the info as I am debating on purchasing one. Keep on rockin' that funk brother.

  • very nice john mayer sound. i wish i could do that with my amp

  • how do i get the "duncan desing" label of my humbuckers. i've had the guitar for three months and cant figure out how to get it off.

  • just get new pickup covers

  • ha coheed and cambria at 3:12

  • Hey, im getting this guitar in about a week. Can you give me some pros and Cons on it? that would be cool. like how is the neck/body weight ratio? Thanks. oh and great video.

  • and lol @ Mother Superior by Coheed also : )

  • lol @ The Light & The Glass by Coheed and Cambria : )

  • Congratulations, you're probably the first C-1+ owner I've ever seen that can actually make the guitar sound great.

everyone else who put their videos on youtube seriously sucks

    No offense but yeah...

  • I had my C1+ for a while now, and I still don't know where's that coil tap! I had my guitar opened and checked by the guy who played for about couple decades didn't find anything that would indicate coil taps. Do you actually pull or just turn the tone higher than usual until you feel that click, b/c i've tried both ways and I don't hear any difference, though I did feel the click when I turned it over "10"!

So how exactly do you do it? And does every C1+ have it?

  • you pull it out.

  • I've tried the hardest but nothing's happening, and i'm afraid i might brake something...also, when i turn it all the way up on tone I can feel this click, so I don't know if that may be it...

  • samsunguitar dude i feel you. im looking for an explanation as well. maybe we just got models that didn't come with a coil tap feature. idk man. nevertheless it's still a fantastic guitar even without coil tap

  • Yes. We did get those w/out it. I thought it did come w/ it. Just recently couple weeks ago or so, I went to Guitar Center, and noticed "my" guitar there, w/ a tag on the tone knob that said "coil tap" and so I pulled the tone knob and voila, it popped! But there was not much of a difference, besides i felt it was a bad single pickups.

Initially, I wanted to buy Gibson LP, but I couldn't afford it, plus I got a Marshall amp w/ my C1+

  • If you got the C1 with 3 knobs, the third one is pull-able, but if it has a five-way selector switch, that means it was wired to split with the switch.

  • I have the one w/ 3 knobs but it doesn't have the coil tap. I even had a guitarist who had played for few decades open it and check it and said there's nothing there that would indicate it! I also checked one at GC and found one w/ pullable knob, and i could easily pull it, and trust me I've tried pulling mine! I was afraid to damage it after all the useless pulling!

  • Schecter started to add pull-push in 2004-05. I guess yours is a older model. Check the numbers, the two first are the year. Mine is from -03, but lucky me, the guitarshop are willing to add the pushpull without payment :)

  • I did not know that. I still got my receipt and it's from 04. Though I don't have coil tap, i'm experiencing problems w/ the sound, i dont know whether its from my amp or the guitar. When i play it on a certain volume leve (not loud) often times the volume goes down and then i'd turn off the amp, and when i turn it back on it goes louder than previously was. Also, often times when someone hits the light switch the volume can go up on few levels louder.

    -Jesus loves you-

  • The starting putting the push/pull coil tap in them in 2005. I just bought a 2004 model a few weeks ago and it doesn't have one. It's got everything else the modern ones have, though, including the Grover 18:1 Rotomatic tuners and TonePros bridge, except for the GraphTech black Tusq nuts they started putting on them for 2008.

  • yeah, what they said.

  • top tip on push pull pots, dont not pop it out, and then drop the guitar. happend with my schecter, bent the pot, so my bridge was stuck in the single coil mode, still havnt put in the replacement i bought.

  • wut do u think is better? the c-1 plus or the c-1 hellraiser?

  • depends on your style, plus is better for all around stuff, anything, really. Hellraiser is better fit for metal or stuff that's heavy on distortion.

  • that sounds really spanky

    great job

  • thank you. i have one of these in the mail and i was wandering about that.

  • this was really helpful i like the solo at 4:24 as well!

  • I have a Schecter C-1 Plus and the thing is just amazing. From the build quality to the dimensions of the neck, to the stunning flamed maple, this is a quality instrument. I'm a beginner and so the Duncan Designed HB-102s are enough for me atm, but they still sound amazing. I think the coil tap feature is what sealed the deal for me when I bought my 05 model two years ago.

  • which seymour duncan pickups did you get?

  • hot rodded humbucker set with a JB bridge model and as jazz neck model

  • I'm going buy that Schecter and mod the pickup with that Hot Rodded pickup set. Can you do Slash's tone with this? This would help me alots!

  • i think slash uses alnico pickups. check seymour duncan's site to find out. i think they are called alnico pros

  • Yeah I know. But those pickup really aren't as versatile. I'm not asking for exact tone ;) Close is enough. Beside I already have that set on my desk xD

Can you put up a video demo this guitar with some solo hi-gain sound?

  • would you mind giving me the tab/chords to the thing you started playing at 0:52?

  • I was gunna get that guitar but i got a gibson sg faded

  • ahh i love schecter....i have a damien..more geared towards metal even though i usually do blues and modern rock jams. I was thinking abotu swapping out the humbuckers for some split coil tones.

  • So with a coil tap, just by flipping a switch you can temporarily change a humbucker to a single coil and back?

  • yes, in this case the pull of a knob gives you those tones. in the last week i replaced my pickups with seymour duncans. sweet baby jesus they sound great tapped and as a full humbucker too of course

  • You played the intro bit for The Light & The Glass!

Thanks for explaining about coil tapping! I'm getting a Schecter C-1 Plus soon so this helps a bit.

  • And Wake Up... [I'm a Coheed fan...]

  • ive only heard wake up a few times, im sure i didnt play it. but i guess i should learn it now eh?

  • same amp as me dude haha

  • you would just pull out the bottom knobs

  • shit my bad, it could be a 2003, not sure if those came with coil tap option, any info tho would be appreciated. (mine does have the better flame top/ older body common on the earlier c1's)

  • im really confused, and sorry for the pathetic question, but ive had a 2004 c1plus since 2004, and i have no idea what "tapping the coil" is, do you literally pull the bottom tone knob up. or do you "turn" it up? ty in advance

  • awesome playing and pickups
