hey aussie metal heads, there might be ( depending if we can get enough people to come ) a Mortal Sin gig in melbourne on easter sunday of this year , its under 18 and also has other aussie thrash metal acts Elrazor , Toecutter and seppuku. just message me and i will tell you my facebook adress , than link you the event on FB
@NoLifetilDeth Amazon is now offering all four Mortal Sin albums on MOD CD-Rs for $16 each. Two of which were just released. (2011 release dates, the other two with 2010 dates).
i hate it when people leave comments on bands that aren't well know like "the drummer is my friends uncle". you don't see anyone try that on a maiden or megadeth video
i've only just found out about mortal sin, but they are so good. so glad to find a good aussie band. they are like a mix between slayer and anthrax in my opinion
I saw them supporting Metallica at the Hordern on the Justice for All tour, I reckon this is from that or very close to. The band changed lineup a lot just afterwards, this is the album lineup. Thanks for posting it.
Wow that so brings back memories. I thought these guys were AWESOME when I was about...12 years old I guess. And the bassist is wearing an Anthrax shirt!
Saw them in 89 supporting Faith No More, met Andy Eftichiou after the gig and thought he was a spot on lad. Had a real soft spot for them andy they were one of the more underrated thrash acts at the time
awesome! i wish i was a teenager during that time but unfortunately i was born a year after that show you went to. that's cool that Andy Eftichiou was a cool guy and you're lucky to have met him.
@Bang4URBux No mate, it was in the UK at Newcastle Mayfair, great venue and in hindsight one of the best gigs I've ever been too, Mortal Sin blew the place apart and luckily (for Faith No More) Faith No More were on top of their game
yeah, but what does this have to do with any of my comments?I didn't mention anthrax or belladona...anyway,I don't think it's him-he has a much more high-pitched voice...
I am calmed down pal!no need to worry,I didn't get angry or anything-just confused by your comments...I guess you made a mistake by posting these comments to me instead of some other guy-anyway,take it easy...ah,and merry christmas by the way, hehe!
My 1st ever gig was in '89 when my older brothers took me to see Metallica & Mortal Sin when I was 12yrs.old.They released 'Face Of Despair' the next wk.&did a insore @ Andomeda records which was cool.I was lucky enough to see 'em again with Anthrax in '05.But there just was something else about that old line-up.Maybe I'm just gettin' too old ;)
No,That was their 3rd-& that shouldn't have been a Mortal Sin album! The bass player Andy Efftichou kicked out the rest of the band & went all hard rockin' for that album (I think it was released as "Every Dog Has It's Day" in the US).It was a totally different band, sound & style. They backed Megadeth in '91-& they sucked...but this song is from the 2nd LP "Face Of Despair" (the legendary "Mayhemic Destruction" was their debut). This must be from the 1st 'Metal For The Brain' festival in '89.
I have Mayhemic Destruction & Face Of Despair on vinyl, tape and CD - all original pressings and all signed by the original members \m/ and the Face of Mayhem - Live VHS \m/ I really haven't liked anything they've done after FoD
The CD/album/tape this song is on (Face of Despair) is outstanding and is yet another highlight of the phenomenal period of thrash's heydey, which I'd say was between 1986-1991. Obviously thrash started before that and continued on to this day, but if YOU WANT to hear some AMAZING fucking shit find damn near anything put out between 86 and 91 that was thrash...great period of time for music for me.
I actually hae this VHS. On the cover it says "Live songs mixed 1989" not sure when the video was actually released though. Great video from a great band! I love Mayhemic Destruction LP!!! One of the best Thrash albums ever alongside with Reign in Blood and Bonded by Blood.
I grew up in NZ, and I remember them supporting Megadeth in Australia around 91. Have never seen them before, but going to see them support Overkill in Sweden, where i now live, in 6 or 7 weeks. Yes!
First album "Mayhemic Destruction was rated up there with the best when it came to first album released. Was more raw than their 2nd album which contained this song (I am immortal)
anyone know what make and serial number is the white ibanez that the guitarist has ?? also the same for the bassist as im gonna buy both!! ps this band are fukkin awesome !!!
Australia's version of Metallica (said a news journalist back in 1990).
I actualy own the album this is off of. Despite was a few people might think, this band has a few VERY NICE RIFFS. The album is DEFINATELY worth buying... if you can find it in the U.S.
I had a thousand opportunities to buy this concert video in 89,I kept putting it off,I regret it now.cant get it anywhere.got their live DVD from the Annandale though. Its pretty good
i found it on ebay a long time ago - under the title faces of mayhem so if you look you might find it there, they also have a very short interview in the middle of it thats pretty funny as the guy interviewing them looks rather silly.
This is from the official Face of Mayhem video, live in Sydney 1989.
