I know they still tour but they are not played on top 40 radio which reaches younger audiences that Justin reaches. I was born in 86 and to me the grunge bands of the 90s are almost old and they are all trying to get back into the business too.

@cvhagar316 well i dont see how it matters when people make lyrics videos or repost the music video, it seems more organized to just have each music video once and only once. However, it is completely stupid to not let musical content be used as part of another project, if I make a video with a song in it, but thats not the whole video, its just part of the video, and it is part of MY creation, how can they take it down ... Im actually having this problem right now with 1 of my videos.
@bostonbakedbeans28 I completely understand. I am just having a hard time with VEVO in general. I get YouTube to my phone, TV, and computer, I can only see VEVO stuff on the computer. So if I make a playlist with VEVO videos, I can't enjoy them wherever I go. I also can't stand how more VEVO videos have advertisements and sensor the music. If people are going to repost the video, but unedited, then that should be allowed. And in your case, you should be able to sample the music at least.

@Simon5005 It's not even a real featuring. Justin Timberlake only sings background vocals on the song, which really doesn't constitute a real "featuring". It's a testament to how little faith Sony Music had in the success of the Red Carpet Massacre album.
I completely loved this song. It was my ringtone forever and my kids even made a parody song "as they do for almost all songs" called "My pants are falling down".

@flamuel Duran Duran had Justin Timberlake & Timbaland collaborate with them because Sony Music was not satisfied with the music they had already submitted, which they felt sounded like "days gone by". Say what you will about Timberlake & Timbaland, Red Carpet Massacre was a pretty good album & definitely was more exciting than anything they put out since The Wedding Album. Duran is pretty bold & creative when it comes to challenges, it's what has helped them remain relevant today.

I know they still tour but they are not played on top 40 radio which reaches younger audiences that Justin reaches. I was born in 86 and to me the grunge bands of the 90s are almost old and they are all trying to get back into the business too.

@cvhagar316 well i dont see how it matters when people make lyrics videos or repost the music video, it seems more organized to just have each music video once and only once. However, it is completely stupid to not let musical content be used as part of another project, if I make a video with a song in it, but thats not the whole video, its just part of the video, and it is part of MY creation, how can they take it down ... Im actually having this problem right now with 1 of my videos.

@bostonbakedbeans28 I completely understand. I am just having a hard time with VEVO in general. I get YouTube to my phone, TV, and computer, I can only see VEVO stuff on the computer. So if I make a playlist with VEVO videos, I can't enjoy them wherever I go. I also can't stand how more VEVO videos have advertisements and sensor the music. If people are going to repost the video, but unedited, then that should be allowed. And in your case, you should be able to sample the music at least.

@amrahc3232 I don't appreciate the disrespect with the name calling. What that message was intended for was to point out how flawed the VEVO system is. I am fully supportive when it comes to giving artists full recognition for their work and to allow them to make a living off such work. HOWEVER, you are allowed, by law, to sample 30 seconds of a song, no matter who wrote it. As for music videos, you can post music, if you give proper credit, and put your OWN pictures over the audio.

@flamuel Duran Duran had Justin Timberlake & Timbaland collaborate with them because Sony Music was not satisfied with the music they had already submitted, which they felt sounded like "days gone by". Say what you will about Timberlake & Timbaland, Red Carpet Massacre was a pretty good album & definitely was more exciting than anything they put out since The Wedding Album. Duran is pretty bold & creative when it comes to challenges, it's what has helped them remain relevant today.

Goes to show you some things end up happening for a reason. Their new All You Need Is Now album is without a doubt their best since The Wedding Album.
