  • GREAT JOB!!!

  • Great sound, guys & girls! This song is hard to cover live I bet.

  • Thanks for helping to keep this great song (and 60's pop in general) in circulation.

  • omg I love you guys!

  • Nice cover version of this song.

  • Excellent cover of a great song! These gals are superb.

  • hey the soundman looked good !!! rofl i remember i was running the mixer for a TV fundraiser and my wife walked right in front of the camera when we were live. i said on the headphones "uh sweetheart, next time walk BEHIND the camera"

  • It's hard to find drummers that can play like that any more. The guy is great. Overall a great presentation. Flashback time!

  • put some strings associated with your songs that need strings ,... vioins etc. like the way 60 s songs did . thank you .

  • now its time for your group to create the 60s tour that was once off limits to many during the 1960 s . strings connected to your group woyul;d create the mystic version of the 60 s sound wave . amusement parks need your group like magic mountain in california . back in the 1984 a group called berlin played there but your 60 s girl group would blown them all away ! atrracting the 60 s generation !!!

  • Stumbled on this video the entire group is incredible

  • I'm revisiting this video after about a year. I'd forgotten that you did the slow horn bit at the end (like the LP version) which makes you just about the coolest group on earth. I have your 2 cds and listen to them all the time; great stuff!

  • thats not a nerd hes a dork.the band and those girls are the bomb.great job yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa peppermint rainbow was out of baltamore maryland .you guys made them proud

  • I am a big fan of some of the biggest girls groups and I have to say I am impressed. These girls have caught the feel and a compliment goes to the drummer. Well done.

  • OMG!!! These gals are fantastic!!!!

  • Liz (The girl in the middle) I hope you are considering a career in singing and entertaining, if all your fans are like me, you'll go a long way. Congratulations.

  • Liz (The girl in the middle) I hope you are considering a career in singing and entertaining, is all your fans are like me, you'll go a long way. Congratulations.

  • WOW !!!! I just bumped into this.. Thanks for making it a GREAT DAY with a great song.....

  • i loved it thanks ladies

  • Wow, it's so good to revisit this again. Hi All!! I am the girl in the middle in this video! :) These comments are amazing and I have been overwhelmed with joy reading all of them for the past few minutes. Unfortunately, myself, Katie, and Daniela, are no longer in the group :( We had to part ways due to getting older & going to college, but there are 3 new girls in our place & are doing a wonderful job! We three are still best friends (we got together only yesterday lol) and miss it very much!

  • Wow!

  • Good job ladies! Love your percussionist!!!!!

  • Cool. I gig on the weekends with one of the members of the actual Peppermint Rainbow. It's cool to see people keeping that song (and therefore the group) going.

  • I love this old song and your group does a great job of covering it - I am most impressed!!

  • great job

  • FANTASTIC! MORE PLEASE! GREAT! Sorry thats all i can say. Is there a website or bios.

    Vegas bound!

  • You girls and the band are absolutely the best: The vocals, the harmony, the timing, and the drummer. I mean, the drummer ABSOLUTELY NAILS the percussion! As a "child of the 1960s," I absolutely love this music and your rendition of this song. Please find the time to come to New York City and show the masses what "real music" is. Until then: Peace, harmony & brotherhood.

  • The drummer is really great. Good job. The back-round vocals are also good but the lead singer could use less vibrato (please?).

  • I love this so much! Where and when can I see this live?!?

  • You three girls are the best "its my party"consider doing it again.

  • You ladies are so great and it's for that reason, of course, that your soundman is getting so much flack. I have no doubt of his skill and it's very commendable that you go to bat for him. It's nothing personal or vindictive of course. It's just an unwelcome break in the momentum of your performance. You're all amazing and I will now step down off of my soap box.

  • You girls need to make the Street Rod Nationals here in Louisville this August. this town would absolutely love hearing you perform. I would be there just to hear you doing the Pepermint Rainbow song "Will you be stayingafter Sunday". I LOVE the tall boots you wear too!!!

  • Wonderful!!! Love it!!!

Shoot that nerd who ruined your vid....

    Who is the drummer?

    He is FANTASTIC...

  • @loocee95 Poor Mike, our soundman, is taking a ton of heat. He's the guy who makes it sound so good!

  • @itsmypartygirlgroup

Ok he gets a pass but only because the sound is FANTASTIC....I've run FOH many times myself.. It's a thankless job at times... He looks just like my cousin BTW!! Great vid!

  • Drummer is FANTASTIC!!! So are the rest of them....Very well done....

  • Great song except for the lost guy who walked in front of the show.

  • in the summer here in syracuse we have the "StreetMachineNationals"it would be great to have a 60's style group like yourselves perform

  • @pheet We've performed the past two years at the Syracuse Nationals at the NYS Fairgrounds.

  • GREAT JOB! Way to keep the good songs alive! And that drummer nailed it, too!

  • Comment removed

  • @skypilot722 That's our soundman removing the tent over the console. He's removing it for the benefit of the audience. It had rained early, but cleared by this tune.

  • Don't quit your day jobs.

  • I remember the original when it came out in 69,and I have to say,,you girls are absolutely wonderfull at remaking this.I know this was done in the raw and you all are young, but you girls have tremendous potential.Girl groups are a lost art that must come back. One other song you need to look at doing is by "Patty & the Emblems" called "mixed up shook-up girl",,you girls would knock it dead if you put your mind to it.I'm from Louisville,Ky,,and if you ever get this way,,I want to see you !~!!!

  • I think I commented some time back but, I find this just amazing. So well done. Just shared it with 630 people on Fb.

  • @themofc Thanks!

  • surprisingly good!

  • drummer is dead on with that old style

  • excellent you nailed this one

  • Great song except for the dumb ass that stood like a fool blocking the group.

  • Pretty decent cover. Plus, I also dig the nice outfits, especially the boots.

  • Nice sound.. Love that era music.. well because i grew up thru it. you did a fine job on this song. thnaks for posting

  • Wow, you all are a perfect 10. Incredible vocals, instruments, staging. I was mesmerized by the arm motions. Thank you for the surprising instrumental closing--please keep it in the show. And please come to Ohio!!!!

  • I stumbled into this video after watching the original (it's one of my all-time favorite records). Like most people who've already commented, I'm completely blown away by this performance. It was already enough that everything about the arrangement was perfect, but I almost passed out when I discovered you were doing the LP version with the slow horns coda. Back in the 70's I knew the co-writer, the late-great Joel Hirschhorn, and I'm sure he would've loved this as much as I did just now.

  • ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! From the singers to the instrumentation. You guys (and gals) need to do a tour outside of NY state. And if you do, you need to make a stop in Colorado. Keep me in touch of any new CDs, as I volunteer at a local Community radio station, and would love to promote your group on my program.

  • I always enjoy clicking this link and listening to you all. You sound great

  • This just blew me away! I seldom ever like remakes but these girls have it all together,Simply lovely.with a nice twist to a truley great 60's one hit wonder classic

  • great job ladies-- truly enjoyed it -That song is remarkable in its melody and stays with you forever - The drummer really nailed it as well -- Give him our regards --Just great!

  • Great cover, great drummer and cute singers.....question do you girls have carpal syndrome of the elbow?

  • You girls are great! I'm going to pass the word on to a 60's music site I belong to..

    Outstanding!

  • What a great drummer. These girls are fantastic! Best of luck to you all.

  • They are fantastic.

  • Great cover of a great old tune!! I'll bet you'll never run out of quality material to cover. Do you also have original material? If so, do you have a web site or sell cd's?

  • Thank you!

Yes the problem is picking from so many great tunes. We do have original material and recordings as well. Though I can't post a link here, there is a link on our Youtube homepage that will lead you to our music.

  • @itsmypartygirlgroup I love how at the end the musicians performed the album version.

  • im 54yrs old i was curious how did you girls get into this 60's sound.i grew up with this so i listen out of sentilmental reason, but you all..??? Oh one more thing dont know why people keep saying "YouGuys"?? i thought guys were male! "Lol" =8^D

  • Great group.

  • Nice arrangement..... could use a better mix, but that's hard to do with live performances. I'd love to see this done live, as presented here. Kudos!

  • I see so many other people made the same comment I wanted to make - Kudos to the drummer, on that energetic thirteen-drumbeat that is a signature of the song (BTW, on the Peppermint Rainbow version, I love how it moves in stereo from left to right!).

Interesting who a tribute to the early 60's Girl Group sound adopted a late 60's Sunshine Pop number and makes it well.

  • Girls... don't let go of that drummer!

  • Whao!

What a nice cover that is as great as we could ever imagine!

Girls perfectly harmonize themselves, and besides, their chorus melts over within the sound of the horn section.

It's also a fun to see a guy passing across the camera ;-P

  • Excellent Job....I Loved the cover...Great!!!!!!!!

  • Great rendition!

  • Very Good Work !!! Thanks for the very fine cover !

  • Nice! Impressed on your song selection. 5 stars!

  • Nice arrangement. The original guitar player/singer from the Rainbow is my dad and he's still going strong after 40 years. We're working out of DC in a popular corporate/wedding group called New Monopoly, newmonopoly, com. The orig bass player passed a few years back. The main singers, Bonnie and Pat, are a CFO at a hospital and a judge. Not sure about the drummer, but your drummer did nail it. The original arrangement by Paul Leka is so full , you did a nice condensing it.

  • Thanks so much for the comment and the update on the band members. Nice to hear your dad still plays, give him our best.

  • @rhodeschroma One of the girls a judge? I guess that gives a whole new meaning to whether you'll be staying after Sunday or go home on Monday.

  • @rhodeschroma I met Paul Leka way way back and drummed on many sessions for him. Was always a fan of PR.

  • WOW, you girls rock. What an outstanding version of a great one-hit wonder from 1969. The horn section is great. Thanks for bringing back one of my favorite songs from '69

  • This is too cool! Glad to see another generation appreciating these song's from the latter parts of the 60's.

  • HollyGolightly, the IMP band performs "Something For Cat" as an opening number and is work ing on adding "Moon River Cha, Cha" this season.

  • @HollyGolightlys And yet kids can't wait to try out for the Greese plays at their high schools.

  • Excelsior! Great song and performance! But as "y" says below, get those darned mikes away from your faces!!

  • Thanks for the compliment. This is a live performance, the mics are in a cardioid- pattern that rejects as much of the sounds in the background/ of- axis as possible. Therefore, with these mics you need to be in proximity for them to effectively pick up the voice in its full spectrum. If the girls weren't on the mics, they would sound "tinny, " or lost in the music. I know it is not the best look, but that's the nature of the microphone.

  • @itsmypartygirlgroup

Interesting. Our group still uses the old reliable SM 58 all around but with the big Bose "stick." No need for monitors, the sound is so clear and out there. Anyway, I'm excited to hear young people do "real" music for a change! Will you be coming through the Lexington, KY area this summer? Again, great stuff!

  • Thanks! As you know, even with the Bose sticks you need to be on those SM58s.

  • Oh, man...y'all just blew my mind. Fabulous. You took one of my fav songs and nailed it. I'm an ex radio guy, lead singer in a 60s/70s band and in the 8th grade when this song hit. The drummer got it right as well. You made my day.

  • Outstanding! You really did nail this song.

  • Very well done!

  • In all of the years on YouTube, I've never been so inclined to leave a comment.

I am a musician (who is very particular about musical perfection) who grew up in the 60's, and this song is one of my all time favorites (when I was a kid, I thought it was Spanky and Our Gang).

I've got to say A+++ You guys are fantastic!!!

I hope you make it to Minneapolis/St.Paul. this year.

    I'LL BE THERE!

  • I agree!!!! what is the name of the group and are you touring now?

    Mike

  • Thanks for the comment. We are called It's My Party, and we will begin touring in June 2010.

  • Who needs Hal Blaine THAT guy is GREAT !!!

  • @88cutty

    EXACTLY

  • Honey, lower your mics about 6 inches... theyr'e hiding your faces. Your'e doing a pretty good job on this song! Great looking group, it's a HARD song to find a place to breathe in, isn't it?

  • Nicely done! A great cover of a great song that never got the credit it deserved.

  • Simply Excellent!

  • You nailed this one...great job!

  • Very good harmonies

  • You guys are the coolest thing on YouTube right now. This really captures that 60s girl group sound. Great musicianship, wonderful vocals. Can't wait for you to come to California.

  • Everyone..Absolutely the coolest thing on YouTube right now. I grew up with this and music and earlier comments were right on. Great sound, great musicians and awesome vocals....just purchased your online song L-O-V-E Hope you make it out to California...

  • And new audiences pick this up. Not bad for a song that, as far as I know, peaked at #32 in Billboard 40 years ago.

  • One of my favorite songs from the 1960's and you gals nailed it! The choreography, the harmony - you got down perfectly. Kudos to the musicians, especially the drummer. Finally, whoever did the arranging - dead solid perfect! Thanks for brightening my day.

  • better than the original !

  • Great song.Superb singing.

Just look at the state of nirvana, the guy with the sunglasses, behind the drummer,is into.

  • Great song,excellent playing.

Have a look on the guy with the sunglasses behind the drummer. He is in a state of nirvana.

  • that was pretty good!

  • You all have a smoking little group there.Good job!

  • I just listend to the original group and I came upon you all. I am completely in shock, you are an outstanding group.

  • you did a great job with this song the band is great the drummer is awsome good job by all

  • great job that drummer is awesome

  • great great great, there is no more to say about the effort you all did on this.

  • drummer nailed the intro

  • WOW!!! You guys did an OUTSTANDING job!! I just listened to a vid of someone playing the 45 and saw your vid as a link and thought I'd check it out. I'm glad I did.

  • Great cover!!

  • The dude walking in front of the camera really added to the sixties flavor. ha ha

  • Yes, just a slight anachronism.

  • The girls are making my shoulder sore just watching them toss their arms around. The drummer? Are those old drums? The drums sound old school.

  • absolutely brilliant! i wouldn't change a thing

  • Your version of this song just made my entire YEAR! Oh my God, you did such a great job on this old favorite of mine. Very faithful to the original, and I am so glad I found your video! TEN STARS EASILY!!

  • I agree. 10 stars! Great great job on a favorite of mine too!!

  • You did a great rendition of this song. I had never heard the song until recently, and I'm glad that you perform it, because it will expose the song to people who haven't heard it before.

  • Way Cool-1st single I ever bought-dou you ever play down philly or allentown way? Think you would also do a great job with some Go-Go's stuff!

  • We would love to play in Philly, though it is very hard to break into new markets.

  • Fantastic ladies...I love how you stayed true to the original arrangement! Bravo!!!! :)

  • Overall you did a great job on one of my

favorite tunes. The drummer was right on and enjoyed the sound of his floor tom.

However, I think you should omit the extended version of this song. I think the artists will understand what I am talking about. It is really not need and would be confusing to the listener who had never heard of this song before.

  • Glad you enjoyed our rendition. You make a good point about the ending, as you can hear, the crowd responds before the end of the tune. We have a very good orchestra and we try to feature the band when we can, and "If We Can Make It To Monday" seemed like a good choice. Perhapwe will re-think for future shows.

  • Don't change a thing, it's perfect !!!

  • You ladies ROCK! You always pick the BEST songs to perform!!!! Thank You!

  • Fantastic Job!

  • I had never heard this song prior to this yesterday...I think I've listened to this and the original about 20 times since then, and it was stuck in my head all day at work today!

Great job! I saw your group in 2000 at the IPO Festival in L.A. and had no idea you were still performing, but I'm glad you are! The world needs to be exposed to great lost classics like this, sung by a talented group like yours!

  • That was a great night. I believe the club was the Gig on West Pico. What a crowd response. It's unfortunate that the group isn't based in LA because we always go over very well in that city. Perhaps a return is in order.

  • awsome rendition!!!!!

  • Very nice 'classic' sound for three girls (note: The Peppermint Rainbow were two girls & 3 guys..does anyone know if the guys sang as well in the original group?)

  • Yes they did. The album is now available in the CD format; some songs feature male lead vocals, as well as male backup vocals.

  • Great to see the group posting new videos!

  • I love This!!
