I listen to quite a bit of folk music. Nothing that would qualify me as anything more than an avid listener to the music. I was unaware of Leif Vollebekk until I heard him on CBC Radio 2 and I was completely blown away. Maybe I am partial because of my Canadian heritage but he is going to be one of the best of his time.
ive been revising for my geography gcse all day including work on cairo, and stumbled across this video purely by clicking from one link to another.. coinsidence? :)
I met this guy over the summer. he was supporting Sam Amidon, i told him I'd buy him a pint if he was any good, needless to say, i bought him a pint. We talked about Jeff Buckley and how a song can be totally ruined for you if u set it as a morning alarm on your phone
Wow...top architecture, music, filming...top arts coming together nicely...Nature threw her bit in as well. Great video altogether. Buen trabajo muchachos.
"he says that he has a Masters degree in Philosophy from Reikjavik, and when he talks to you he explains that it's just to impress girls." With that smile and that voice, he doesn't need anything else.
#OMG Pure nugget !!! Perfect sound, awesome filming, great voice and beautilfull song. Chryde, Mitch, Francois, et tous ceux qui vous aident, vous dé-chi-rez, merci pour ce super boulot !
Aw SHOOT! I wish I could've seen that building when I was in Montreal last week :
Anyways, I believe the wonderful sound quality comes from those long studio mics, floating above the artist yet unseen by the camera. Has the mystery been solved?
yes! leif vollebekk is absolutely brilliant. I first heard about him on this itunes podcast a few months back & immediatly bought his cd upon hearing "you couldn't lie to me in paris" This guy needs more publicity he's amazing & needs to tour the u.s.
I think it would be very cool (now that you have clearly nicer recording equipment) to get Andrew Bird and/or Annie Clark (St. Vincent) back to do something.
@LaBlogotheque I love your videos so much, they're so great. this one's not an exception. just to put it out there have you ever thought of making a video with florence and the machine? I think that would be outstanding.
@MrKindLife I would guess they used a directional mic of some type. Either mounted on a boom or I think in this case probably mounted on the camera and aimed more or less between his eyes. But still, it's well done. Nice work guys.
What a beautiful place to sing, such interesting architecture, song (and a beautiful guitar to match!). Thank you for this, I love you guys for giving me wonderful music <3
"What the fudge-sicle" lol. Not really into the style of music, but I liked how much the artist seemed very into what he was playing. Once again, nice video!

Probably my favorite Take Away show, pretty much everything about this is beautifully sublime. Henry Townsend would be very proud.

@MrKindLife they probs had a boom... like a mike on a pole, plus look where hes at
dudeinasuit321 1 year ago
@MrKindLife I think they use a series of ZOOM H4 or H2 or t=somthing like that... maybe its multi mic'ed up using a similar mixer field recorder :)
