  • That sounds sooooooo mean... Like a fighter jet taking off... Great job!

  • @DerekWebbOfficial most of that sound you hear is the dyno wheels

  • This video was 5psi of boost 425hp/446tq. Kit was installed over Memorial weekend a few years ago, on jack stands in the yard using basic hand tools.

  • how much hp you puttin out n are the systems hard to install

  • I must have missed the part where the dyno results were posted.

  • I honestly think this is the nicest rear mount I have heard. Beautiful job !

  • numbers?!?!

  • tower this t/a we are redy for takeoff lol

  • fuck me.... i forgot to tie down the car. if he isnt dead, hes gonna kill me. ha

  • y isnt the turbo under the hood?

  • @chopedandsectioned Its a rear mount turbo that STS makes. Puts it in the back so there isnt as much heat in the engine bay and you dont have to make room for it. It pretty much takes the place of a muffler. Very good design. Look em up on their website. Its nice.

  • why are so many people hating on the trans am? That thing is not a junker by all means

  • So what do you think of the STS turbo? big difference? is it holding up?

    Nice ride!!!

  • i was half expecting it to take off

    long live the screaming chicken

  • ya i agree with carenthusiast91. this thing sounds nasty as all hell dont get me wrong and prob puts out good power but having a turbo back there is a waste of money cuz for every foot of pipe you loose 1lb of boost so at the turbo that thing is prob running 15psi just to make 8 at the motor. give or take a couple psi but you get the idea.

  • i dont see why anyone would put that turbo set up on any street car, or any car in general....u see how rusted that intake was? give it a month and the entire setup under there will be 10x worse

  • @carenthusiast91 This video was taken over 2 years ago now, and it's still going strong! true there is a little surface rust, but now it's all painted stealth black.

  • @carenthusiast91 better change your name if you "dont see why".

  • 11.77 in the 1/4

  • old cars lighter not so newer are alot lighter fiberglass and alum. com dude r u kiddn me

  • Yea, Yea I know. thats alot for a basically stock short block. A forged one is on the way. Then I can put some ignition timing to it and REALLY have some fun. Just wan't you to know there's many ways to skin a firebird. P.S. love the GTA.

  • Remember, it's not always about size. I've got a 02 ws6, stock short block (do have ARP rod bolts) fast 78mm intake, accufab 78mm throt bod. comp r lifters, comp 7.4 push rod, afr 205cc heads .044 quench, supermaxx 1.75 headers, cats, corsa catback, 3.73, mezeire elec wat. pump. nology wires, 7.250 8 rib crank, 3.4" P1SC-1,SPAL fan, 2bar map, 224/227-114, 60# siemens, lonnies dual pump/hobbs,3.5 alum/1350 spicer shaft,b&m ripper, spec stg.3 clutch, 6 point ,subs, ben around the block few 600rwhp

  • Firechicken.... May I show You MY T/A?

  • a new car is fine for someone who doesnt want to spend the time building and modifying a car from the ground up. but for the REAL grease monkeys who put their heart, sould, blood, sweat and hard work into their cars......now thats something a man can be proud of. Second, a 2001 Trans am is in NO way a junker. now a 66 nova with 139 original miles thats been sitting in the weather for 44 years, thats a junker, but it will look DAMN good when its finished!

  • that sounded great!! what were the numbers?

  • @4gclipseGT again 425hp/446tq on about 4-5psi of boost

  • @MrShawnc992001 nice, have you taken it to a dragstrip yet?

  • soooo that was pretty sweet

  • spend money on junkers because they dont make make trans am anymore 15000 is alot my first trans am i got at a salvage yard wrecked and i put about 6500 fixing it and never had a problem with it since. besides its a hobby some people like taking older cars and fixing them up if you know what your doing its worth it. you prefer a newer car nothing wrong with that some people appreciate older cars nothing wrong with that. trans ams are bad ass cars though

  • These cars made 315-335 rwhp (That's Rear Wheel Horse Power) from the factory. GM has always been conservative from the factory. This equates to 360-390 flywheel horsepower depending if its a 6 or auto. Install a better air iduction with some longtubes and a tune (mandatory) and your talkin' another 50 wheel hp. Throw in a cam (10-20) more RWHP. But wait there's more. Now You want CNC'd heads? Add 30-40 more RWHP. But by now you better put rod bolts in it, or build a forged block for that SC.

  • @Mavrick164 adding hp up like that doesnt work, since parts go hand in hand, you may get 100hp from a cam or you may only get 30, it depends on what is already done to the motor, an ls1 with heads and cam will get much more hp out of a fast 90 intake than a stock ls1. bolt on ls1s are usually about 340rwhp, add a cam and you can be anywhere from 370 to 415 to the tires, add heads after that and you could be anywhere from 420-460, add a fast intake, and you could hit up to 500 rwhp.

  • Fuck everybody thats BAD ASS!!!!!

  • love the video! the responce has been great! its people like you and i that make the car scene more diverse not just the same ol shit u see at a dealership or in some rich mamas boys garage so keep up the good work and let the haters hate!

  • @kracee1 Thank you!

Yeah "awesomeguy" and "cooldude" are the same troll from Canada.

  • damn,, hold onto you hat it might eat it

  • What type of cam are you running , do u have forged bottom end, and are u still using the stock 10 bolt ... just curious im looking at doing a similar build

  • @rudiZ28camaro Everything was stock except for the tune and turbo. The stock 10 bolt is still very much alive, it just needs a new home because it got evicted by a Moser 9". Now I am going with a "budget boost motor" basically ARP rod bolts, 317 heads, and a 02 Z06 cam. A bigger turbo is also going under probably a 76mm, along with a 3k stall and a tranny build to handle the HP. Should be a 600+ rwhp beast.

  • Good build man, don't listen to anything "awesomeguy" says, it takes a real man to build fast, rather than buy fast.

  • @AlphaDemonWolf666 Awesomeguy and Cooldude are the same troll from canada.

  • @AlphaDemonWolf666 Thank you! I don't care what "awesomebitch" or "coolcunt" say they are the same bitch from Canada who has a slow car and sand in his 'giner.

  • Car sounds like a jet. I love it.

  • Car sounds like a jet. I love it.

  • @ awesomeprick

do you not have anything more to do than rag on somebodys car???

its his money from his job, his car, and his decision to buy what HE wants. the car is stock besides the sts kit, and its making 100RWHP over a new SS Camaro, his car has also been paid off for 5 yrs, hell of a lot better than trading his car for a slower car and still having to pay another $25,000

i also have a rear mount F-body street car, but mine is in the 800RWHP range and well in the 9s

    so what you got???

  • @sprayinLS1s Hahahahaha sic him Crews! He's got nothing, and nothing to do. Just talk shit on youtube, and wish he could be faster than me.

  • Oh my gosh!!! I am so sorry ... I mean C-A-M-A-R-O ... forgive me please!!! Please! I'm not use to such formal writing on Youtube!

  • @awesomeguy1979 lmao, since when was the correct spelling of a car "formal writing"? Come on internet punk you can do better than that.

  • @mrphotomanTIM I like how this dude closed his account. probably from all the hate he got from being an idiot. Nice T/A. Had to turn down the volume, the sound of those turbos was getting too loud. His question why keep an older car and put money in to it?? To give your car character. Something that says its you. Why gut an old car and drop and 454 into it? To smoke idiots in there new cars who think they're hot shit. I drive a GTO. Pontiac for life!

  • @awesomeguy1979 lol you are so stupid that I feel bad even responding to you. If you only realized the difference between whp and chp. You are just a little canadian teenage internet punk with no car though so I guess it really does not matter that you are unable to understand lmao.

  • @mrphotomanTIM i dont think he understands that stock these cars run low 13's with 325HP at the crank. my stepdad's ran 13 flat brandnew.

  • @mrphotomanTIM I know what whp is, and I feel like a idiot for asking this but ive never learned before, but what is Chp?

  • @redghost105 it means "crank horse power"

  • @BudBudSounds so thats basically the amount of horsepower the engine its self is making?

  • @redghost105 yes basiclally.. the horsepower at the engine is usually dropped by around 20% from the crank to the wheels.. most guys with high horsepower cars will go by there wheel horsepower not by whats made at the engine because the power that matters is the power put to the ground

  • @awesomeguy1979 really?, Too bad my '98 ms3 cam camaro kills new camaros/chargers.

  • @awesomeguy1979 You do know the new Charger is just a 6.1L Hemi, not the old "426" from days of yore right? Not to mention the old 426 was over rated, the old 440 would rape a 426 on the street. The Chargers/Challengers are rated as crank HP not wheel hp. So take 450 and divide that by 18% drive line loss and you will have right around what wheel HP they will make.

  • @awesomeguy1979 I'll be one of the first to admit that it would be nice to have that LS3 out of a new Camaro. Those heads flow 300+cfm (330 is believe exact) and a few more cubic inches would be nice, but I am wouking with what I got. Now if some great soul were to donate a new LS3 to my cause, I would happily accept it and drop it in!!!

  • @awesomeguy1979 What do you drive BTW? A Honda with a pink Justin Bieber stickers on it I assume.

  • @awesomeguy1979, I don't know about you.. But i have a 1994 camaro Z28 that i put a stock replacement lt1 in it..(by myself, no shop no extra money) and for the past 3 years now i havn't had to do any major repairs, besides an alternator, and radiator hose which had cracked. other then that with oil changes (do mine every 2500 miles or so) and regular maintence most 'old junkers'' can last a long time..some people just like the looks of old cars.

  • @awesomeguy1979, also, most new cars will break down within the first 2 years..especially since most people think since it's new its better and doesn't have to do check ups oil changes etc etc.. Also.. while the dodge charger hemi may have 450 crank horse.. your looking at about 380 rwhp..4160curb weight.. so your 30k or so money spent into the charger and you have a heavy fair hp 13 second car

  • @awesomeguy1979 no you not understand that these cars run stock with 325HP and ran 13 second flat 1/4 miles? yeah ive seen REAL time slips. a new camaro or charger would get beat by a STOCK trans am

  • @awesomeguy1979 those new chargers lose 38% of their power from engine to the wheels so our old piece of shit junkers will fuckin own your new 50 000$ waste of space and plastic.

  • @awesomeguy1979 I would put my 1978 trans am with a 700+ hp built buick 455 stage 1 against almost anything. Plus I'll never own a Camaro or a Mustang because their too much like assholes in the way that everyone has one. Ooh and i do know what I am doing with my engine, that's why I am a B.P.O guy not a chevy or a ford guy!!

  • @awesomeguy1979 When you buy a new car, your money is doing all the work for you as well. Remember that ;)

  • @awesomeguy1979 which new charger has a 426? pretty sure the challenger has a 392. but they have put a 426 in nothing. good try troll

  • @awesomeguy1979 dude why would want a new car when the old 350 chevy and the old 302 ford is the best most buildable, indestructable, quickest motors ever built... ur just some dumb kid that thinks he knows something but u dont.... lt and early ls motors are awsome... dont get me wrong i like all ls motors includeing the new ones, but the ls1, ls6, ls2, lt1, lt4, lt5 are the best chevy motors ever

  • @awesomeguy1979 if you dont understand why someone likes a car...you'll never understand

  • I have to agree with cooldude bro! Why keep spending money on old junkers?? I have an 89 GTA with a LT1 corvette engine (aluminum heads), steel crank shaft and 302 Z28 cam ... not sure if you know what I'm talking about? Anyway, let me make it clear to you ... old cars break down. I've sunk $15000 on maintaining my GTA for the past decade ... I could have bought a new muscle car with twice the horse power for that money ... why keep spending good money after bad?? Are you a little rich boy?

  • @awesomeguy1979 lmao, kid you can't even afford the cereal your mom buys you for breakfast that you eat each morning while watching your favorite cartoons (my little pony, pokemon, etc).

  • @mrphotomanTIM i agree this shit brick clearly does no know anything anyways. i just wanted to make it clear that pokemon is sweet... anyways proceed with tearing this guy a new one

  • @mrphotomanTIM FUCKING NICE HAD ME LMFAOROFL HAHAHA... Fucking roasting @awesomeguy1979

  • @mrphotomanTIM oh no someones a hater i aint ever seen so much jealousy over a video shut the fuck up get off the computer and go do something u loser

  • @gorth1000 you aint? you really aint? you have got to be kidding me! you really seriously aint? i aint believin ya. i just aint gonna believe you aint seen so much jealously.

  • @awesomeguy1979 come on, really? what the heck are u doing to that thing to sink 15k in a decade? u must be a retard lol. i know guys with fully built engines and suspensions that have barely spent 15k, and they bought them brand new! lol there is a such thing as "driver error" u know lol.

id much rather spend 6k on a 600+hp, corner-carving, daily driven 3rd or 4th gen camaro than drop $500/month on a 420hp heavier 30k camaro....but thats just my opinion lol

  • @awesomeguy1979 lol no, old cars don't break down, you just got a helluva beater. I bought my 94 Z28 for 4 grand and have spent what, a 1000? Maybe $1500 in total? Sure it broke down a few times but guess what? I fixed it. Never gave me trouble again.

Here's why you SHOULD keep spending on old junkers:

    1. Easier to modify

    2. Lighter

    3. Cheaper to buy parts

    4. When you're building a serious performer, you end up changing most everything anyway, so why the fuck waste money on a new car?

  • @AmirGTR Lmao

@awesomeguy1979 this guy is right not to mention newer cars engine compartments are getting tighter and tighter so theres not much modifying you can do unless of corse you get in the with a hack saw....

  • @burnbabey12 With GM's LS series of engines why would you need to modify the engine compartment? If you want a huge cube engine just drop in a LSX 454.

  • @MrShawnc992001 Point is in alot of newer cars you can't fit a bigger motor into one with out having to cut something out or moving something back. Plus you have to mess with fuel injection and rewiring just easier to start out with a older car it's cheaper and easier.

  • @burnbabey12 Yeah but sometimes its better to spend a little extra to get it right than to save money and cut corners regardless of new or old. For some people dropping an LSX in may be the best thing, For others it may be better to just build the motor thats in the car already, Its case by case thats why they are called project cars no two are going to be exactly the same unless you are on some sort of team. Just remember sometimes corner cuts to save money could cost you more than just money.

  • @awesomeguy1979 hmmmm...maybe payments? they look better? easier to work on? cheaper to work on? those are just a few examples. plus most people who build these old "junkers" dont use them for daily drivers. also how many "new" race cars do you see in drag racing? not many if at all. sooo...why are you spending money on an old junker? lol

  • @awesomeguy1979 DUDE STFU!!!!!!!! you know u dont own SHIT! And you say old cars break down.... you make me fucking laugh........... i have a 1985 trans am with a built 350 hasent broken down on me once! i have videos to prove it you fucking FROG!

  • @awesomeguy1979 I highly doubt you even own a car. even if you did if your continually "sinking money" into your ride because it keeps breaking down, you obviously dont know what hell your doing OR dont even do the work yourself by hiring some shade tree mechanic. what is so important that your hatin' on other peoples ride. also agree with AmirGTR, its way cheaper and a shit load easier to modify for example a 98 camaro than a 2010 camaro. so shut the fuck up and quit being a douche.

  • @awesomeguy1979

are you not doing the same thing? am i missing something...

  • @awesomeguy1979 lol youre quite entertaining little boy can you please continue trolling i quite enjoy it

  • wow some of these comments are really dumb. nice car, vid, and turbo. nuf said!

  • Damn, the turbo spool on that is insane. Is this setup still together?

  • @mysock351W Was running strong until I tore it apart for upgrades!

  • @cooldude79790 Are you really that stupid? First, what does bran have to do with cars or are you simply constipated and found that bran helps you and you are simply passing on the advice that bran is good for you? Second, what the hell is a camero? Third what the hell is "hours power"?

  • if you're gonna spend all that money on an old car ... get a bran new charger or camero ... they come stock 425 hrs power!!!

  • @cooldude79790

Its not about getting a car with that much power. Its about the love of the car your working on. You can actually say you built the car instead of oh my car comes like that from the factory.

  • @cooldude79790 And weigh in at over 4000lbs!!!

  • ill be installing my sts turbo kit on my 2002 ws6 this weekend...

  • the turbos so loud because he is running a external wastegate dump not because its farther back on the car.

  • Oh shit, that scared me. Amazing car

  • I love STS turbos for the fact that you can hear it nicely

  • That thing sounds like C-17 cargo plane taking off, pure power.

  • Sounds like a jet engine winding up!!!

  • damn love it! builds up tension cause you know that turbo is about to hit.

  • I love the kit, it drives like stock around town, and gets nasty in an instant when you want it to. The car made 425rwhp/450rwtq with just 5psi of boost. The car is currently torn down getting new 317 (6.0L) heads, 02 Z06 cam, a 76mm turbo, a forged bottom end, Monster tranny kit, and a Moser 9" rear diff.

  • its ready for take off

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHIT.

  • how does this kit perform? basically im looking at putting this on my car and would like to know whether im wasting my time or not

  • @locohobo1 its very very very expensive but i think worth it. the performance numbers will be higher than if you do anything else. you wont be wasting your time with this

  • LMAO @tim

  • f 16 engine

  • Awesome sound!

  • Wow.Scary LOL.I woudnt dare fuck with that thing, not with that whistle.I mean little ricers with a cheap ebay turbo or fake exhaust whistle kit,d probably try to race, but that monster.I would drive away in my trans am in shame lol.

  • What numbers?

  • LOVE the sound how much power was that putting down???

  • Put a flux capacitor in that bitch and your ass is history

  • Thanks for telling us the stats...

  • And...... Liftoff!

  • oh my god that is fuckin loud hahaha im at 12 psi and mines no where near that loud holy shit

  • @mrphotomanTM hey just reading the comments umm and wanted to ask where can i get that whistle from? lol

nice car keep up the good work

  • omg thats sexy

  • wow i loveeeee that sound man Pontiac for life !!

  • It sounds like a jet taking off, and I love it.

  • numbers?

  • sounds like a 747 takin off lol

  • That shit sounds WONDERFUL..... Do they install them on 2001 Jetta VR6 2.8?

  • @Sherrod103, the universal kit, yes.. wont make near as good numbers though.. you can go to their main website (sts.com) to see the vehicles they have the fit for.

  • @Sherrod103, forgot some of the website.. ststurbo.com sorry.

  • Is the sts turbo the only mod? How much rwhp did you dyno? Im think of getting the same set up for my 96 camaro

  • what a beautiful sound

  • amazing.. I love the sound of that!

  • STS turbo's have a obnoxiously loud spool since they are located towards the rear of the exhaust.

  • @SystmOvrload what is obnoxious about it? it is quiet when you want it to be and it is loud when you want it to be. nothing wrong with a loud turbo spooling, most performance oriented people would love that sound.

  • @mrphotomanTIM I've had the turbo kit for over 4 years and I can tell you that the sound never gets old!!!

  • @mrphotomanTIM that sounds way better than a blower man!!!

  • @mrphotomanTIM i concur most def that loud spool just hmmmm mmmmmm mmm sounds nice the sound alone means POWER!!!!!

  • @mrphotomanTIM its cause it sounds like one of those fake turbos....and if your car isn't louder than your turbo it would sound weird

  • @mrphotomanTIM

Obnoxious awesome! Can't wait until my WS6 sounds like that

  • @mrphotomanTIM ahhhhh not kissing anyone's ass but mr tim is fuck'n right on point

  • @SystmOvrload this sound is better than viagra ,,,lol obnoxious ???? do you even like fast cars at all ???? obnoxious is not a real word my book,,,,,lol

  • @SystmOvrload ............... lol if u think that is obnoxious ? then go buy a prius

  • is the spooling really that loud or is it a fake?!

  • @98f15046 it is fake, i am standing by the camera with a whistle.

  • @mrphotomanTIM LMFAO!!!

  • @mrphotomanTIM oohh ok, I was like dammnn that's a nice spool up, I wish my truck really spooled up like that for real..but that sounded nice when the whistle when away and the true exhaust note sounded and nice lookin trans am, I've always liked trans am and camaros of that generation

  • @mrphotomanTIM No video editing was done.

  • Comment removed

  • @mrphotomanTIM You just made beer come out my nose.

  • @mrphotomanTIM wow, people really dont know about cars. spooling should be loud. scares people ;)

  • @mrphotomanTIM lmfao

  • @mrphotomanTIM

    I lol'd hard.

  • @mrphotomanTIM Thats funny...lol

  • @mrphotomanTIM Man u made me litterally ROFL

  • @mrphotomanTIM hahaha!!!! A dumb question deserves a smart ass answer!! Hilarious!!

  • the first video i've ever seen without someone talking shit.... nice car too.

  • excuse me i have to go clean out my pants

  • sts turbos are so amazing

  • that think sound like it is pulling as hard as it can. Nice car.

  • wow that sounded great

  • Can anyone tell me why everyone is putting the turbo's where the muffler's should be instead of in the engine compartment?

  • @dushbag38, alot less engine overheating, no turbo lag, and after saving best for last.. the sound of it makes any car head jiz their pants.. you'd be driving at a car show then all you'd see is guys walking for the bathrooms with spare jeans.

  • OMG! That sounds awesome.. I love these kind of cars! XD

  • 425hp/446tq

  • @MrShawnc992001 Actually i would of thought it was higher than that. I can definitely say it has an intimidation factor. What is your boost limit with proper fuel supply?

  • @DVcustomZ I was down to 4psi that day due to a boost leak. STS says that the 60mm turbo maxes out at about 620hp.

  • gotta love that afterburn

  • WTF... no dyno #'s

  • No real problems to speak of. I deleted the PCV switch and wired the return pump to run on high all the time.

  • Have you had any problems with your sts kit? Thanks

  • holy fuck dude! def had my jaw on the floor! love how u put the old school twist on a new school ride with the cragars and stripes

  • Single turbo kit.

Completely stock LS1 engine with 44# injectors.
