this is a great movie but at least he puts up a fight before he dies which is really great because in movies when he dies he always just dies never puts up a fight. so at least he has died with some dignity but i'm still sad he dies.

I am thinking that it was due to the large amount of alcohol in his body that caused him 'survive' so many times. His viens must have been so constricted that it would take the poison much longer to actually take effect. And due to his drunken stupor he might not have been able to feel that much pain after being shot which was how he was able to keep going before they finally drowned him.

I've been waiting FOREVER to see Alan Rickman in a movie where he actually puts up a fight before he dies!! =) <3 Don't get me wrong, I hate it when he dies, and no matter what movie he is in, or what his character is like, I always cry when he dies, but I'm just glad that he didn't die as soon as they poisoned him the first time!!

actually Rasputin took 11 shots and didn't die, but he fall down, so they castrated him and beat him, medics/researchers said that he was alive for about 7 minutes inside the frozen lake and tried to break the ice to breath.

AS for healing him, who knows, but the biggest mistake was in the royals not telling anyone about the nature of Alexei's illness; people knew something was wrong and I am sure that Rasputin would never have destroyed the family the way he helped doing. This movie is greatly inaccurate in its portrayal of Ratsputin, he raped several women in his lifetime and manipulated countless others.

This death is quite correct either. He consumed enough poison to kill 5 men, was shot in the back, but survived and attempted to strangle the prince, then was shot twice more in the back and once in the forehead, he survived, then he was beaten with clubs, he survived, and then they threw him in the river where tried to swim to shore but later drowned.
