The name of the damn car is the SC430. the 430 Denotes the displacement of the engine. 4.3L V8. Ferrari does this similarly, F430 is a 4.3L V8. The SC300 has a 3.0L, which we all know that the 2JZ-GE (and GTE) that came from the Supra, as well as the IS300. so anyone that says that this is basically a Twin Turbo Supra is a dumbass.

if i get my hands on one of these lexus convertibles I'm gonna drop in a tundra 5.7liter and a manual transmission with some suspension mods and upgrade the brakes and you have yourself a nice little luxury convertible sleeper.
@279Xander must have been from an extremely old post. I wouldn't (personally) refer to it as a "sleeper" due to it's lack of power out of the factory. That 4.3liter isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but work must be done to it so that it can rev high in the 8-9k rpm. That's why I would rather have the 5.7liter tundra motor with a nice cam and ported heads. That my friend is a sleeper.
@funguy7979 The only engine it comes with is the 4.3 V8. I drive one, and they are fun. Not nearly as light or composed as the M3, or as fast, but still nice for cruising. Plus a lightly modded one will beat a GT, not the new 5.0, but a 4.6. They aren't really meant for speed, more luxury, hence the very linear acceleration. It doesn't jolt forward like a BMW, it takes its time shifting down and you get a nice woosh forwards. Almost like a Rolls Royce, but of course, not that nice.
@40ashort very well said. My dad use to have a bentley GT coupe AWD TT and that shit was nasty - smooth - but nasty. Personally for me I am looking for this exact car but to put a 5.7 liter from toyota into it and a 6speed tranny with a stronger/lighter drive shaft. To be honest I have never driven a 2000 sc430 myself but have driven other cars that had that motor swapped into it so I know how the motor responds. Anyways your comment was well said. cheers

@MangoSmoothie16 GTE is twin turbo...GE is naturally aspirated....gte has a built head and bigger injectors and all taht stuff...the GE doesnt lol... basically the GTE is stronger....bottom ends are almost identical tho
