He's so understated but I think that is one of the most impassioned love songs I've ever heard. "If you want me to stay, I'll stash my sleeping roll under your bed. That says more than anything in my life I ever said"
I have never heard of seasick steve - my mother kept on about it - i assumed it would be shit.. this is the first song i heard of his - I LOVE IT!!! omg its awesome!!!!!
@rosydonut same thing happened when i saw him in manchester apollo a few weeks ago. The girls face was as straight as a ruler. In my drunkern state i couldnt help repeatidly shouting out 'YOU SHOULD OF CHOSE ME STEVE!'. seriously most amazing performance i've ever seen in my lfie tho. and JOHN PAUL FUCKING JONES came on to play bass for the entire gig. i almost cried with excitement
I saw him 2 days ago, at lowlands 2011. I was in the front row. I had to cry. It was so beautiful, so real, so emotional and he is such a good man. After that, i got his signature on a cd of his. He shook my had twice, and he got all emotional by all the fans that loved him so much. And so do i, i love him so much. A good man, that he is.
when someone says they dont like a type of music and loads of people start complaining saying they dnt kno what theyre talking about annoys me more than the person who doesnt like the music in the first its a thing called an opinion but i would genuinly like to hear from the nine who disliked this video why they disliked it? :( i dont know anyone who dislikes this song its just amazing (in my opinion of course ) ;)
ive come home from the pub, lay in bed listenning to this thinking of all the pople i could relate this to. amazing. a shame music is a dying breed. just electronic crap from now on :(
@LesSmith45 I fell upon him also & have never looked back... Wait till you watch all his stuff then see the vid of him playing on a street corner... Hes a very humble guy
@TBOwi Thanks for the reply. I Seen this other video on jools holland where he is playing some kind of lap guitar that looks like he made it in his garage. It only had one string. It sounded awesome.
A very humble man... I feel that in every interview Iv seen... Look up the vids of him & his drummer playing on the streets in San Fransisco.. His reaction when he sees someone recognizes him tells it all....
Think about it. If Steve wasn't famous, half the people listening to him in the crowd would dismiss him as an old bum, but because he makes such awesome music he can be who he wants to be, look the way he wants to, dress the way he is comfortable and everybody loves him. That's why music is the greatest job one can have, it gives you absolute freedom.
you would never belive that he is over 60, he is a great man. one of the only true human beings left on earth as everyone is full of greed and use no common sense
This is the only video I've ever seen where the comments are all tirades against some idiot who makes generalisations and moral judgements based on musical taste.
I'm amongst like-minded people. What a feeling! :)
The programme he did for BBC4 was amazing, where he went round some of his former haunts in the Deep South. It's prob on YouTube, I just wish they'd comissioned him to do an entire series!
So humble, doesn't care that he's famous just that he is doing what he loves. Not often you get that these day, most artists are manufactured (dare I say the 'B' word?) What you see is what you get.
What i find sad is that music like this is dying out. From my age group, there is only a handful who appreciate genius' like this - while everyone else is into the biebers and akons etc. Soon, we may not be hearing the blues played properly at all :(
@unitedboy101 It will probably not go that fast. Classic music composed ages ago is still listend to, even if it is not in the popchards. those popsongs me be the dominating songs, but songs like this are still liked a lot. Of those 398380 people that watched this, I'm sure at least half are below the age of 50, so I guess (young) people still love this music,
@unitedboy101 Don't worry, it's not dying out. The mainstream has since the music industry got created been made up of trite shit. The real good stuff is always under the ground, in the minds of free thinkers all over the world.
@unitedboy101 The White Stripes, The Black Keys, and a number of other up and comers are bringing it back. Believe it or not, the blues is having a bigger influence on music now than it did in the 90's. It's just gonna take another 5 years for the explosion to happen when all the young bands inspired by The White Stripes and Black Keys make it into the mainstream. You might even get sick of it because there will probably be so many.
this man is the truth, no matter how shitty things get you can relate to him. his story IS the light at the end of the tunnel. if the things he does don't inspire you then you're dead inside.

There's no such thing as bad music, all music appeals to somebody... we should accept not everybody shares our views and enjoy the music we enjoy without imposing our own doctrine upon others.

@chandlerlewis what utter drivel; because they don't share musical tastes with you. They are selfish and unthinking? There's no such thing as bad music, all music appeals to somebody... we should accept not everybody shares our views and enjoy the music we enjoy without imposing our own doctrine upon others.

@chandlerlewis You just made a broad generalisation about everyone who doesn't enjoy listening to blues music. That isn't an opinion.
