  • Will you marry me, Steve? Please.

  • this guy is a LEGEND

  • when someone says they dont like a type of music and loads of people start complaining saying they dnt kno what theyre talking about annoys me more than the person who doesnt like the music in the first its a thing called an opinion but i would genuinly like to hear from the nine who disliked this video why they disliked it? :( i dont know anyone who dislikes this song its just amazing (in my opinion of course ) ;)

  • don't dislike the video you jerks!

  • incredible emotion right there

  • ive come home from the pub, lay in bed listenning to this thinking of all the pople i could relate this to. amazing. a shame music is a dying breed. just electronic crap from now on :(

  • @LesSmith45 I fell upon him also & have never looked back... Wait till you watch all his stuff then see the vid of him playing on a street corner... Hes a very humble guy

  • @TBOwi Thanks for the reply. I Seen this other video on jools holland where he is playing some kind of lap guitar that looks like he made it in his garage. It only had one string. It sounded awesome.

  • LAD

  • is there any footage of him pre 2000?

  • this song would bring a tear to the eyes of Chuck Norris ....

  • this song would bring a tear to the eyes of Chuck Norris

  • Wow. Im going to learn this. And then play it as a lullaby to my little sister... :)

  • man from another time...

  • A very humble man... I feel that in every interview Iv seen... Look up the vids of him & his drummer playing on the streets in San Fransisco.. His reaction when he sees someone recognizes him tells it all....

  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING................

  • True hero.

  • 400th comment! :D

  • Stev is the man.

  • The most simple and honest song I have ever heard. Indescribably good.

  • Now thats real soul music......feeling everything this guy plays.

  • Have you ever... this is just fantastic!

  • modern day johnny cash

  • Best 3 stringed guitar player in the world!

  • I'm pretty sure Steve might actually be Jesus...

  • is it weird that i have a huge crush on him and i'm only 21?

  • I hope steve lives a long time to enjoy what has came to him later in life....he deserves to be picking well into his 100's

  • @TheSingleCell

    very true and deep.

  • Think about it. If Steve wasn't famous, half the people listening to him in the crowd would dismiss him as an old bum, but because he makes such awesome music he can be who he wants to be, look the way he wants to, dress the way he is comfortable and everybody loves him. That's why music is the greatest job one can have, it gives you absolute freedom.

  • @Ylviste Sorry to disagree, people love him for what he is and he is famous for just that. At some point he was always going to be famous.

  • beautiful song

  • today's johnny cash.

  • wow

  • you would never belive that he is over 60, he is a great man. one of the only true human beings left on earth as everyone is full of greed and use no common sense

  • This is the only video I've ever seen where the comments are all tirades against some idiot who makes generalisations and moral judgements based on musical taste.

    I'm amongst like-minded people. What a feeling! :)

  • sry replay button i fucked u up sry!!

  • Lol at the solitary fangirl at 0:23 :)

  • The programme he did for BBC4 was amazing, where he went round some of his former haunts in the Deep South. It's prob on YouTube, I just wish they'd comissioned him to do an entire series!

  • this so cheers me up when im down.modern blues

  • Surprised 7 insane people were able to type - I think Seasick Steve is a breath of fresh air.

  • Thank God I stumbled upon his music!

  • Real music from real people - the sugar in life and salt of the earth. I just stumbled upon this!

  • 7 people with no soul !!!!!!!

  • So humble, doesn't care that he's famous just that he is doing what he loves. Not often you get that these day, most artists are manufactured (dare I say the 'B' word?) What you see is what you get.

  • The world wont end on 2012; it'll end when Steve dies.

  • the 7 that disliked, arent walking men i take it.

  • what a man

  • HES AT READING!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEAAAAH!

  • wow.....speachless on this

    just love it, that's all

  • Unreal, pure and brilliant.

  • This is great....I think Steve is top class.

This song though...it reminds me of a lot of a Daniel Lanois track.

  • 1000 !!!. . . (and worth every 1) !

  • @CrystalResonator Bravo my freind!

  • 999th liker.,., one more!

  • EPIC,All you Katz that post or do"t post, have used the same chords like S. STEVE but can't make sound so EPIC...

  • man ive missed out on the heart of music my whole life. now im happy

  • a man that you find once in your life!

  • What i find sad is that music like this is dying out. From my age group, there is only a handful who appreciate genius' like this - while everyone else is into the biebers and akons etc. Soon, we may not be hearing the blues played properly at all :(

  • @unitedboy101 You ever hear the Black Keys?

  • @unitedboy101 It will probably not go that fast. Classic music composed ages ago is still listend to, even if it is not in the popchards. those popsongs me be the dominating songs, but songs like this are still liked a lot. Of those 398380 people that watched this, I'm sure at least half are below the age of 50, so I guess (young) people still love this music,

  • @unitedboy101 I think Jack White is doing enough on his own to keep things going along .....

  • @unitedboy101 Don't worry, it's not dying out. The mainstream has since the music industry got created been made up of trite shit. The real good stuff is always under the ground, in the minds of free thinkers all over the world.

  • @unitedboy101 very true, a real musician with real music, however the blues will never die

  • @unitedboy101 The White Stripes, The Black Keys, and a number of other up and comers are bringing it back. Believe it or not, the blues is having a bigger influence on music now than it did in the 90's. It's just gonna take another 5 years for the explosion to happen when all the young bands inspired by The White Stripes and Black Keys make it into the mainstream. You might even get sick of it because there will probably be so many.

  • @unitedboy101

don't worry dude, when I was young a lot of my friends and (somewhat) including me were into really shitty music.

But when you get older, you get bored by that shit very soon. Most of my old pals are know listening to very nice stuff.

Your taste in music will always evolve by getting older.

  • @unitedboy101 well I am telling ya, the place where I live (Zaandam, Holland)

a lot of people I know listen to seasick steve and other blues/jazz stuff

    Its definitly not dying out

or perhaps I am in denial

  • @unitedboy101 we will with bands like the black keys.

you are so right, there is only a few..

  • @unitedboy101 and there are those of us who are into the Tyler Bryant's of the world... the blues doesn't age, only we who appreciate it.

  • @unitedboy101 Blues will never die.

  • I like the song because it's honnest

  • genius

  • this man is the truth, no matter how shitty things get you can relate to him. his story IS the light at the end of the tunnel. if the things he does don't inspire you then you're dead inside.

  • @riothero313 he inspires me to move to America and ride trains. He really is amazing.

  • If thats not cool, I don't know what is!

  • such a beautiful song. this guy has a guitar, that is made from a moris minor hub cap and a stick, and you know what he still plays that better than i can play my actuall guitar xD. For the people that dont like this vid gtfo

  • This Cat...IS THE REAL DEAL...

  • This Cat...IS THE REAL DEAL...

  • Honest no frills music..

  • This man is a fantastic story and a lesson to all those 'artists'. He does it all by himself! No backing tracks (usually), No designer clothes, no writers, No additional help (where even bands need more outside musicians) and no magazines telling him to have more botox or facelifts to keep up appearences.

  • I can't imagine he's got less than what he started with, if not he should be paid soon (I'm being sarcastic)

  • best thing ive ever heard... puts me to sleep every night

  • He's talented, unique, professional, charismatic and most of all humble. A real treasure to music.

  • Saw him play this live and I was in tears, honestly...

  • @schirmmutze I'm so jealous :C) it must have been awesome

  • @schirmmutze lucky... he seems like a god... he plays 3 strings better than I can play 6 XD

  • Absolutely brilliant! A more genuine blues man I aint never heard. I gotta see him live in 2011!

  • brilliant!

  • My Name Is Steve!!! and im a bearded man!

  • He can play with more than 3 strings?!

  • Pure genius and the people who voted against are mentally ILL

  • "This here's for all the girls... for real!"

  • Learnt it on guitar deceptively tricky

  • @2010rockguitar that's cos it's fingerpicking country blues, the most nice guitar style ever :)

  • now thats a jack daniel's drinkers voice =), wipe the floor with the shit in the charts now, steve is so talented, love it

  • this man is important.

  • @newg123456789 i totally agree so simple but so god damn moving seasick steve is just what people need in there lives ... im from ireland an steve is huge over here we all love him ... peace out =)

  • He's my hero! It is simple, original, and still as old school you can find at the same time. and i LOVE it

  • This is the kind of stuff I can see myself sittin on the back porch listening to all afternoon.. Loved it

  • "I started out with nothing and i still have most of it left" ... EPIC!

  • i now have a guitar a good friend gave me that is now permanently strung and tuned like seasick steves 3 strings. AMAZING musician.

  • love this.

  • agreed with vape4life... raw and real... bout as good as music can be

  • ...just love it.....

  • I think after this global meltdown of the economy all over the world....people of the world just want to get back to something 'real'. You can't get much more real than Steve. I believe the days of driving lambo's and wearing gucci are pretty much over. Look at how this simple song....sang by a simple man has made you feel. It has made you happy...and that's what IT is all about....peace.

  • It's no wonder that this man had to go overseas to find an audience. The music that passes as music for the most part in the states is produced for the sole purpose of making money and aimed at to broad an audience for some one like Steve. God bless Jools Holland.

  • @Cervicconstruction Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if you were 100% right on the money there, and that's truly a shame.

  • This man is a hero.

  • Such A Lovely Song

  • Steven . Glad you say you live in Norway :))))

  • Imagine him with a good guitar.......woah

  • @afterdinnermint2 Aww hell no...the crappy guitar makes the 'sound'...that's what makes it so raw and real. No autotuned over produced BS here....just raw real music

  • Comment removed

  • @chandlerlewis I like him, but this comment is stupid. Just because somebody dislikes something doesn't make them selfish or unthinking. To make these assumptions shows people how much intelligence you have. In the end it comes down to personal tastes. To think otherwise is childish.

  • Comment removed

  • @chandlerlewis I'm not gonna be goaded into an argument. All I'm saying is, some people might not like his voice or his style. That doesn't make them selfish. That doesn't make them unthinking. You automatically make assumptions on people because they dislike this video. That's infantile. If you like him, good for you. But don't give others shit because they don't have your tastes.

  • @chandlerlewis He doesn't play crap guitars, he plays guitars w/ buckets of character.

  • Comment removed

  • @chandlerlewis

I really dont get it how can someone dislike it... it's such a beautiful song and when you know the history of Steve it's even more epic and a bit sad... the song is just getting into your heart and nothing else... i cant even imagine a dislike button on this song...

  • @chandlerlewis what utter drivel; because they don't share musical tastes with you. They are selfish and unthinking? There's no such thing as bad music, all music appeals to somebody... we should accept not everybody shares our views and enjoy the music we enjoy without imposing our own doctrine upon others.

  • Comment removed

  • @chandlerlewis You just made a broad generalisation about everyone who doesn't enjoy listening to blues music. That isn't an opinion.
