love the phone, maps, and browser. One nice thing on the web...when I bring up an article and zoom in, it re-formats to fit into the viewable space. When I zoom in even closer it again re-formats to fit the screen. No panning involved. COOL

My favorite app is the TrackMasters app. I Road Race my car, and this app is an absolute BLAST! Love it and Love my DROID. Now if they could just update us with the 2.1 Android software I'd be even happier.

It's all down to personal preference. I've used both and I can say that I personally prefer the Droid. Android is an amazing new software and the fact that most of the applications on it's market are free, and the customizability of the OS make it one of the contenders for top on the smart phone list. As far as looks go, again you gotta go with what your tastes are...IMHO the Droid looks fantastic, with an old school/professional sort of charm to it.
Er...no. In order to run 5x faster than the Droid, the iPhone would need to run at LEAST 2.75GHz. Speeds like that are unheard of, even with the new Snapdragon platform which hasn't even been released yet. :/
For the record the iPhone and Droid both sport the TI OMAP3430 processor running at 600MHz (iPhone) and 550MHz (Droid) respectively.
And finally there are rumors of special Android apps that will overclock the Droid's processor to run at iPhone speeds, possibly faster.

I got a Droid as well, even though I LOVE my new phone I think 10/10 is to high of a rating. I give it a 8.5 out of 10, since there is no multi touch, physical keyboard isn't very useful because of key size and D pad size, and camera isn't very good even though it's 5 MP. Don't get me wrong, I am completely satisfied with my phone but 10/10 implies that it's completely perfect.

Er...no. In order to run 5x faster than the Droid, the iPhone would need to run at LEAST 2.75GHz. Speeds like that are unheard of, even with the new Snapdragon platform which hasn't even been released yet. :/
For the record the iPhone and Droid both sport the TI OMAP3430 processor running at 600MHz (iPhone) and 550MHz (Droid) respectively.
And finally there are rumors of special Android apps that will overclock the Droid's processor to run at iPhone speeds, possibly faster.

7 hours with full brightness, no sleep mode, continuous music playback from SD card, and an hour of Google Maps Navigation (GPS).

I got a Droid as well, even though I LOVE my new phone I think 10/10 is to high of a rating. I give it a 8.5 out of 10, since there is no multi touch, physical keyboard isn't very useful because of key size and D pad size, and camera isn't very good even though it's 5 MP. Don't get me wrong, I am completely satisfied with my phone but 10/10 implies that it's completely perfect.

The screen on the Droid is 854x480, the iPhone only has 480x320 (LOL). iPhone is old school now. Droid screen is amazing.

no be fair the g1 and magic were very lackluster and now android has hit 2.0 it has not only been proven but has reached a real second coming, eclair is very yummy indeed.
also i know about hero in the uk and the samsung whatever but the hero was glitchy and not avail in the us and the samsung was well idk why i haven't heard much about it.

atnt does suck as a cell phone provider though. i have nothing against the iphone but verizon service, customer service, and plans are just better to me. and not to mention if the majority of the people you know have a verizon phone well you can get the cheapest plan and you can still talk to your friends like you have unlimited everything. i want to get an iphone but i would never go with atnt.

I'm not saying one is better then the other, because the Droid isn't even out yet. And I have a I touch so I know it's good. But there is around 10,000 apps for Android, and that number will increase a lot considering this phone is coming out. And the Droid comes with a youtube app, and also a widget on the Droid. And it's just convent you don't have to Jail break this phone to customize it. I think the phones are really close in comparison.

i used to have verizon before going to at&t. at&t's coverage sucks ass. verizon has 5 times more coverage density.
the droid is going to kick the living fuck out of the iphone in every way. by the way, it is going to be backed up by the world's LARGEST 3G network, not G1. do your research.

I bought the iphone 3g the day is came out, and i love it, i am totally in love with it, it's the best phone i've ever had, it's my ipod, and i use it all the time, does it have some issues yes, but i'm sure give apple some time and we will see zoom, flash, and blah blah blah, but i wouldn't expect removable batteries cause that would hurt the design, thats just what i think

Yeah but this is the first phone that actually could be a Iphone killer. I've already heard of a lot of people with the Iphone switching to Verizon for this phone, because At&t service isn't as good as Verizons. And because this is the first phone on Verizon that can compete with the Iphone.
