TB, several games have old-school realms. I don't think that Blizzard should do it, but you are incorrect in your statement that no other game does it. I know at least EQ and EQ2 have it.
A small example of this is EverQuest Mac Edition, which has its own separate game and login servers... it's stuck at only the 4th game expansion. As far as I know, Sony doesn't offer any support for EQMac, yet people still play $14.99/month to play it, which is a bit mind-boggling. Sony even gives out free account keys to people who ask for 'em on the forums.
I think Blizzard made a mistake with raising the level cap every expansion. They could have kept the 60 cap, opened up the expansions to level 40 players and kept the leveling experience unique for re-rolling; all while keeping all the reputation gear and rare raid drops from becoming obsolete, not to mention keeping recycled content out of the game.
i used to use the in game voice chat... of course i didn't raid with it. however, i did learn that there was actually a FULL SECOND of lag between me and someone just down the street. seriously....
seems as though the ability to give a "needed" class extra items in the LFG tab has fallen through. From what I heard before the patch that gave it, tanks and healers were a bit fussy, where as dps was a plenty. Now though most of the tanks and healers get the extra items where as the dps are again left out of the loop and the function itself was suppose to "help" the dps if not everyone equally
Really hope our guild stays out of the guild finder...we've got nearly 500 members, and have always done it by application through a website only, and that you have to get the info from a person from our guild. Our GM has to approve any and all applications. It saves having to filter out the people who want a "free ride" and non useful to themselves let alone the guild.
RE: CC nerf and catering to the PuG's. I PuG all the time. I kick people who can't understand "kill skull" or "sheep moon" or "don't attack the CC'd target". This nerf does not cater to me for pugging alot. this caters to morons, and this nerf is harmful to me, because it makes it even -more- likely that i will encounter idiots in my pick up group runs. The problem with reverting the 30% end of BC nerf is that it was nerfed (probably a bit too much) to coincide with the removal of potion chugging in combat.
CC isn't hard right now and I think Blizz is doing a poor job of justifying the change simply because they keep returning to their standard nerf language. If they instead tried to sell the change as a way to make lag less important or spread out the difficulty of a pull beyond the first 2 seconds, then I think more people would get on board. I don't think the change is necessary, but if they explained it like this rather than as a nerf, I'd at least understand.
Horde has always talked about alliance being favored, its never going to end. the opposite faction is always going to be overpowered in your perspective.
I for a example am sick of pugs runs reallyy, why don`t have aggro on all the adds because you kill both breeders and with the fire all the adds, boss and fire bombs i`m screwed. Use your cd`s i already had to use. AN dthen why didn you you step on the fire oh yehah i got some great view with 200 adds and boss. Idiots /never doing random outside of guild again. dps blames me for whiping while they fail at cc and following the skull mark etc etc.
Lets just be honest.. ally only lose due to the number of newcomers or complete noobs who play on that side.. as in my experience both factions are balanced... its the players not the side..
tbh i think it is just a button to get the older realms back, because they once had servers 'capped' on that content. and i thonk its dumb if they didnt made any backups during that time. so in that way there should be the posability to get those realms back just like thst. but that are my thoughts :)
Well to be a little fair on the PvP subject. The racial's seem a bit lop-sided. The majority of alliance racial's are defensive while the majority of horde racial's are offensive. And to really take advantage of the human racial, alliance need to raid a bit to pick up a trinket that provides the extra stats. (not to big a deal but still..)
I would rather have a horde racial over an alliance one. Troll for example; i'd take that over human. But if i were a healer i think i would prefer dwarf..
@Monsteroflopogis Well, Horde racials USED to be better for pvp, but now that they buffed Alliance racials there isn't really much difference. Human racial is almost game breaking imo, because you can equip two trinkets instead of insignia which is a huge advantage when you play high end arena(depends on the class and comp ofc). But to be honest the reason alliance tends to lose a bit more to the horde in BGs is not because of racials. It's because of the lack of communication and BG experience.

Tbh, about the content question, I totally agree. I can just about understand rehashed content (as much as it get annoying seeing it) but I think they should keep old content as it is whilst bringing out the rehashed stuff. So, for instance bring out Naxx for 80 but keep it for level 60 too.
However, I dont agree with vanilla, wrath, tbc realms etc.
Heres my opinion on the old expansion realm idea. As a new player I would like to experience all the content but I can't because I level up too fast.The only reason I would like to have old expansion realm is to have a level cap so I can experience all the old raids such as Ahn'qiraj or Molten Core but I would also like to be able to transfer to TBC realms once all the content had been finished. I'm not asking for ZA and ZG to be back or a reskin just a level cap or a slower leveling system.

Not to advertise like a faggot, but private servers FTW. IMO, the best one is from wow-one.com. Blizz doesn't care. The site has classic AND TBC, though the TBC one is fairly new, T4 only ATM.

The problem with reverting the 30% end of BC nerf is that it was nerfed (probably a bit too much) to coincide with the removal of potion chugging in combat.

CC isn't hard right now and I think Blizz is doing a poor job of justifying the change simply because they keep returning to their standard nerf language. If they instead tried to sell the change as a way to make lag less important or spread out the difficulty of a pull beyond the first 2 seconds, then I think more people would get on board. I don't think the change is necessary, but if they explained it like this rather than as a nerf, I'd at least understand.

I for a example am sick of pugs runs reallyy, why don`t have aggro on all the adds because you kill both breeders and with the fire all the adds, boss and fire bombs i`m screwed. Use your cd`s i already had to use. AN dthen why didn you you step on the fire oh yehah i got some great view with 200 adds and boss. Idiots /never doing random outside of guild again. dps blames me for whiping while they fail at cc and following the skull mark etc etc.

tbh i think it is just a button to get the older realms back, because they once had servers 'capped' on that content. and i thonk its dumb if they didnt made any backups during that time. so in that way there should be the posability to get those realms back just like thst. but that are my thoughts :)

Well to be a little fair on the PvP subject. The racial's seem a bit lop-sided. The majority of alliance racial's are defensive while the majority of horde racial's are offensive. And to really take advantage of the human racial, alliance need to raid a bit to pick up a trinket that provides the extra stats. (not to big a deal but still..)
I would rather have a horde racial over an alliance one. Troll for example; i'd take that over human. But if i were a healer i think i would prefer dwarf..

@Monsteroflopogis Well, Horde racials USED to be better for pvp, but now that they buffed Alliance racials there isn't really much difference. Human racial is almost game breaking imo, because you can equip two trinkets instead of insignia which is a huge advantage when you play high end arena(depends on the class and comp ofc). But to be honest the reason alliance tends to lose a bit more to the horde in BGs is not because of racials. It's because of the lack of communication and BG experience.

Tbh, about the content question, I totally agree. I can just about understand rehashed content (as much as it get annoying seeing it) but I think they should keep old content as it is whilst bringing out the rehashed stuff. So, for instance bring out Naxx for 80 but keep it for level 60 too.
However, I dont agree with vanilla, wrath, tbc realms etc.

Heres my opinion on the old expansion realm idea. As a new player I would like to experience all the content but I can't because I level up too fast.The only reason I would like to have old expansion realm is to have a level cap so I can experience all the old raids such as Ahn'qiraj or Molten Core but I would also like to be able to transfer to TBC realms once all the content had been finished. I'm not asking for ZA and ZG to be back or a reskin just a level cap or a slower leveling system.

I agree with you on the people not learning how to play their class and the game itself due to nerfs... i find myself often looking for info to get better, but it's never enough. i always find something bad about my skills as a paladin, or my dps is not the best for the gear i have, etcetera...

@7waystosunday Many crowd control abilities no longer cause creatures to attack players when they are cast. The creature will not attack the player when the crowd control wears off, and nearby creatures will not become hostile to the player either. However, if a visible player gets too close to the target creature, the creature will remember and attack the player when the crowd control effect wears off.

I think that Blizzard should make some of the guild challenges or dailies like they did in WoTLK where you went to a specific dungeon,beat it and return the quest item,but for the old vanilla content! That way we can still see vanilla content and enjoy it.
