I was reading somewhere in liner notes, can't recall exactly where but the writer had commented on how brilliant Lang was to have a song written for such an obscure word as Aquiesce

Sounds like a one-way conversation she's having with Christians. She's asking them what she's supposed to do given that she's a lesbian and as they can't or won't answer that question she's asking them to acquiesce issues like sexual orientation and just get on with getting along.
