Actually, a Bluray disk (the ones used for PS3 games) is just 2 slightly more refined DVDs glued to each other. At the most, we would need 2-3 disks, but if you played Final Fantasy 7 for the PS1, you wouldn't really mind.
my friend had an xbox360, he got RE5 for his xbox360, sometime after getting RE5 for his xbox360, thee xbox360 got the RRoD. his RE5 was destroyed completely. He got a new xbox360 and a new RE5, his new xbox360 wouldn't read his disc.

If it did go to xbox, it would only be this way if it were uncompressed (as it is on PS3) but I'm sure they would compress it to 2 - 3 discs. The quality would probably diminish though, so BLU-RAY FTW
ok, just installed disc 45, but for some reason, red lights suddenly flashed around the pwer button, I got it fixed, restarted process, now my 57th disc is scratched! does anyone have all 75 discs to lend me?
and if they are smart, the install disk would contain all the videos and audio data for the game since actual 3d data/ textures wouldn't take up that much space. I just wanted to put this tidbit of info out there even though I own the PS3 and MGS4 for it.
oh and ps, the xbox version of MGS2 substance looked way better than the ps2's also featured about 500 new lvls some of which are vr missions and the others are where you play as just SOLID SNAKE.
uh, dude you know ps3 blu- ray is only 25 gigs atm, go to a store and look for a burnable blu- ray disk and look at the size, same size as HD dvd, but in a few months they will have the 50 gig disks released, soooo with that said, MSG4 is only on a 25 gig disk and!!!! ps3 doesn't support certain compression methods that xbox 360 does, meaning the game would take up less space on the 360, and possibly only need 3 disks, 1 of which would be the install disk and the rest play disks
@Kenkas15 Standard Dual Layered DVD is 10GB. Standard Dual Layered Blu Ray is 50GB. I'm pretty sure MGS4 and most other PS3 exclusives take up more than 10GB, so I think it is needed.
@Anoush13 You dont need to have 1 disc. Having 2+ is actually an advantage in the long run. Lets say you got 6 brothers. On a ps3, only one could play mgs4, but if it was on 360, and it took up 2 or 3 discs, then that many more brothers could play different parts of the game.
what every happed to doing more with less. developing game within constraints leads development teams to create more efficient ways to produce media any body can make and 700mb movie file full up an hard drive if encoded improperly most of metal gear 4's bulk is video which can be down sampled or stored on the hard drive beside disc media distribution is going away DLC is the future and xbox 360 is set up for that future quite well. i would not be surprised if 1TB drives are in XB 360's future.

Admittedly my bros broke down like a month after I got mine so I gave him my 360 and sort have held a little bit of what you might call a bitter perspective towards the 360s. i suppose there would be some downgrades aswell as some upgrades, graphics would most likely be very similar and having multiple discs wunt be so bad, i stated that it could be put on 3/4 quad-layered discs, but instead it would be best to be fitted on 5 discs to me personally (1 disc per act), in ways this would be better than the ps3 as that requires a 2/3 min install but with disc swapping it could be done in 10secs, so to me multiple discs wunt be that bad.
Just to clarify, Im not a fanboy of either console, I actually sold my xbox the other day but till think of it as a good machine and both are capable of th same games, eve if th xbox might have compressed data, but Hideo Kojima himself has actually said that MGS4 would work on a 360, but would cost way more as Microsoft is a bigger company than sony and apple. This is not a fanboy comment but just some facts, also in reality it would only require about 3/4 discs as qaud layered discs.
I finished MGS4 in less than a day. In the afternoon I completed MW2 then I fixed my red rings of death with a Jedi mind trick. Then I created the ultimate console...just for a laugh before I went to the pub and had a hundred blondes crawling all over me.
If MGS4 takes up all 50GB of a dual layered Blu-Ray disc then it would take six DVD-9s to play MGS4 on your Xbox360. Even then, you would not be able to use MGO or the motion sensing features (i.e the Mantis Doll xD).
Bluray doesn't support compressed files so 50gb raw would be wayyy less, and the 360 needs less programming and is more simple so the 360 version would be less, and probably fit on 2 discs.
take a look at mass effect 2, that game is long, huge, and has very nice graphics and it's on only 2 discs.
(only if it fit on 1 though, but no console is perfect.)

I finished MGS4 in less than a day. In the afternoon I completed MW2 then I fixed my red rings of death with a Jedi mind trick. Then I created the ultimate console...just for a laugh before I went to the pub and had a hundred blondes crawling all over me.

If MGS4 takes up all 50GB of a dual layered Blu-Ray disc then it would take six DVD-9s to play MGS4 on your Xbox360. Even then, you would not be able to use MGO or the motion sensing features (i.e the Mantis Doll xD).

Here's what sony fanboys don't mention
Bluray doesn't support compressed files so 50gb raw would be wayyy less, and the 360 needs less programming and is more simple so the 360 version would be less, and probably fit on 2 discs.
take a look at mass effect 2, that game is long, huge, and has very nice graphics and it's on only 2 discs.
(only if it fit on 1 though, but no console is perfect.)

With reference to ToxiClinko, as hard as it maybe for you to find a call of duty match, also depending on what speed your modem runs, I can easily find one within minutes, and be ready to play in just a few more, and to all the rest of the ps3 owners, it's not about the exclusive fact that we have MG4 its that fact that we can run the quality it's at, and much more. So all the 360 owners, cherish what you have, and ps3 owners will cherish what we have, people get so stubborn over a game. xD

Man I had 360 for 3 years, and in those 3 years, it's had 2 E74 Errors, 2 rrod, and 2 rrod. Plus the ac adapter caught fire. I bought my ps3 a few months ago, and in that time, i've almost paid it off, without having to buy points, and live, and special kits and shit to clean games, and the hard drive. So in the end I should have the bought the ps3 a long ass time ago .
