  • @crescentmoonpro It's been a while, but I think the problem is that the rotational axis is relative to the front of the camera. So, rotating it sideways will always make it rotate to that direction. As for how to fix that... I'm not exactly sure, but a pivot might help. It's the problem with cameras in Blitz3D, the movement/rotation is always relative to where the camera is facing. Then again, it has been maybe 2+ years since I even looked at Blitz3D, so I may be wrong.

  • so i have a small problem, im working on a game of my own and i figured it be time to display some of the variable values so i can better debug, however i discovered i cannot display any sort of text while im running 3d graphics and or have a camera present i need a little help i could u explain this to me? i will pm u my test program that i used to check my theory

  • "Noice (typing error) that the space that is in the description does not appear during this video".

Well, can´t you simply fix this in the description? Creating annotiations takes more time than changing description, so why make this complicated (this may be pointless, but I notice from it anyway).

  • @TinklerStar I actually tried to fix that, but the youtube format kept messing it up for some reason.

  • ii need help, i want it to be W,A,S,D

  • @HuskyRonan On the help page, there is a place called Command Reference. Once you get into that, click scan codes.

  • i buyid blitz3d sdk but its dont going on need blitz 3d sdk a video card DirectX7?

  • the ) code error is at (row : 45) (col : 55) theres a space between playercube

  • Just as a note, you cannot copy the code exactly from the description, because there may be format errors.

  • P.S. I'm Using my own, here it is:

  • I keep running it and it keeps saying "Not enough parameters" What do I do?!?!?!

  • I found an error in the code!

    When it says "Expecting ')'"

    Just press Backspace.

    Then it might run right.

  • Expecting ")" means that you forgot somewhere the ) simbol. Without the program cannot run, so even when you're pressing backspace, it woudn't work. it's impossible

  • Yeah, the Youtube formatting cut it off. The regular source works just fine.

  • Thanks for this information btw :), (Need to make an FPS game aswell for school :D) I might upload some ingame videos >:D

  • oh by the way, i fixed the collision of the brick cube by making the collision a decimal i made it

    MoveEntity cam,0,0,.2

    MoveEntity wallcoll,0,0,.37

the .37 is the right collision space i think

  • did you mention something about making a tut for mouse aiming?

and for floor collision would be nice too

  • The space in there was uintentional, though I cannot fix it, for it does not appear in the editing.

  • when i tried to start it in the runtime box thing it says: "Expecting ')'"

Do you know how to fix this?

  • Now I have found it:

    PositionEntity cam,EntityX(playercube),EntityY(playercu be),EntityZ(playercube)

There should not be a space in playercube

  • Ok well now that that's fixed one last question. This is one the tutorials don't actually answer. How exactly do we make dynamic maps with buildings etc... Is it done by using a 3rd party program to make meshes and bsps then giving those collisions?

  • Hmm... Well you crashed before the importent part for me. I need help with the mouselook code because it seems its being limited to a 45 degree turn max. I'm going to continue working on it but i'll send you the code to take a look at. I'm looking just for a basic one of a fix for it.

  • To whoever it concerns (or did not read the description): The source code is posted within that text.

  • Thank you.

  • Probably could have added enemy AI had this not occurred... :(

  • Very bad news. I was intending on creating another video about this, but my computer has crashed. I've lost all of the source code to this during the format. I'm sorry. I will try to answer any questions you have about making this old-style FPS. I might make a tutorial on moving your view with the mouse, thus rendering these tutorials Obsolete. I'm very sorry about this, I completely blame google maps! I clicked on the satelite button and it sent my computer to The blue screen of death."

  • if you are, keep up the good work :)

  • btw are you a beginner?

  • cant really remember the command, too tired

  • use Camerarange camera,0.1,1000

  • thx by the tutorials!
