  • Except Galaga '88 is a NAMCO game?

  • Smaller than this?

    NOOOOO! *smash*

  • He's more drunk than Angry.

Ha. The Nerd is too easy to Parody.

  • 12:58 He has a plush famicom!

  • The Sega Saturn and the Bomberman multi-tap you can have up to 10 players because you can get 2 multi-taps and use both standard controller ports.

  • @naptimewithturtles2 Ooh, good to know! We'll have to try that out.

Only need two multi-taps and 8 more controllers! Oh, and Bomberman...

  • @SeanOrange It's worth it from what I have heard, because Bomberman is regarded as the BEST party game ever made (sorry SSB), and the amount of players makes it even better. The only bad part is getting a U.S copy of Bomberman which will dent your wallet about $100 for a good complete set.

  • Castlevania: Rondo of Blood has parallax scrolling. It was a CD game, but just adding CD capacity wouldn't increase the system's graphical capabilities. BTW, your Angry Nerd is more like Douchey McNitpick from TGWTG than AVGN.

  • Did they really make the Turbografx-16 bigger than the PC Engine for no reason? Is all that extra bulk nothing more than empty space?

  • @therealhardrock No reason at all. Completely empty space. I think it might be only SLIGHTLY smaller than the Japanese PC Engine/CD-ROM2 combo unit.

  • Maybe Sindra shouldn't be in anymore videos until she learns what a video camera is and stop using a slide show of still photos with a voice over :-P.

  • @therealhardrock She does, she just didn't have HD. And she DOES have and HD camera now. (Check out YouTube user sindaemon)

  • @SeanOrange Aw I thought it was just a weird style choice that I was joking about (kind of like Still Gaming).

  • @therealhardrock Hahaha, well it was at first. Most of her videos were like that. But she started switching it up to full motion around this time. ;)

  • @Sempre5 Cause your videos are SOOOOO much better.

  • @Sempre5 Haters gonna hate!

  • @Sempre5 hmm, snarky comment about Angry PC Engine Nerd not being original?...well, good thing you know what PARODY is

  • The playstation 3 can support up to 7 controllers at a time but very few games take advantage of it

  • @BlackLite99 Yeah, I should really an an annotation about that.

  • "Jew Wario" Has a famicom plush 12:21

  • I loved this episode, but I must admit, from 4:48 - 4:55 it looked like Vinnk was looking at a laptop.

  • @McNubcake guilty..

  • I love the Turbografx. What I like about it is that almost every game on the system is exclusive to it and that makes for a really unique and interesting library. Its graphics might not be as good as the Genesis or Super Nintendo, but in most Turbo games I've played, the gameplay is very solid, so it's got it where it counts. And they weren't "whoring" Bonk. They had a great character and they just wanted to expose him to as wide an audience as possible. Nothing wrong with that.

  • 4:55 Angry PC Engine Nerd is exaggerating. The most popular game titles were still being released on the Famicom (most likely because Japanese developers were thinking about selling their games in America).

  • more of that girl please. she intrigues me.

  • @ThunderhorseOfHell She has her own whole channel (Sindaemon) and her own retro review series (KEEP PLAYING: Rewind). Check her out!

  • Sad. It's... Sad.

Sorry, but there is an angry nerd already.

I... I really don't know why some people keep trying to copy it.

Make you own character, you can guys.

And it's super-hyper-megadrive overreacted... Well... The original angry too...

    Sorry again.

  • @G0RR4 It's okay, I don't blame you. BTW, you should Google "parody".

  • @SeanOrange That, Mister, was an immaculate answer! +100

BTW, I really like your videos ;) Nice material and info, improvements in video editing and (slowly :) performance and behavior on camera. And last but not least, I can see that you really love the scene.

Congratulations and thank you very much for your time and info.

    Cheers!

  • @SeanOrange it's just that your "parody" is shitty.

  • @EwaY83 To each their own! I promise you right now it's not the last you'll be seeing of APCEN.

  • @SeanOrange dude make a new one i thought this was super funny.

  • @JZBEAST01 Working on one now. Did you see the Famicom 3D System episode?

  • @SeanOrange Yes i did. love your videos man. i subscribed to you.

  • @JZBEAST01 Thanks! Yeah, we're working on the next part to that. More 3D! Surprisingly a lot of it in the '80s.

  • @SeanOrange One question from your biggest fan, if Vinnk lives in Japan, how do you do the videos?

  • @JZBEAST01 It's not too hard. Everything is scripted, and we confer a lot online and over the phone.

  • @G0RR4 i would love a thumbs down on the comment i am replying to, this guys fucking retarded

  • YAY JAPANESE QUESTION!

    あなたの質問の疲れイム。あなたは私の英語で質問をすることができますか?

  • @ultrasuperman99 categories are american gaming history, math and computers

    あなたとお休みに感謝します。

  • @SeanOrange wow that was fast

  • i know this question has nothing to do with this vid but why are the models on gcn not gcn but dol and the wii is rvl?

    this is a fact:

sega also gave rise to a "competitor". the dreamcast's death helped the xbox be born

  • @ultrasuperman99 Oh, this is an easy one! ;)

The code names for the GameCube and Wii were Dolphin and Revolution respectively. Similarly, the Famicom uses "HVC" for Home Video Computer in its model numbers.

I actually never checked the model names of those systems before, but I picked up a Wii-mote, and sure enough it was "RVL-003". Good find!

    Some more fun facts:

    Nunchuck: RVL-004

    Sensor bar: RVL-014

    Console stand (gray): RVL-017

    Console stand (clear): RVL-019

  • i fuckin love ramune soda,i am obcessed i like collect all the different flavors!!

that and pocky ,and just about any chocolate candy made by glico and lotte

i also love the gummy candy and the fixxy candy from japan

but i thought he said botan ,and called it gum, bottan isnt gun its rice papper candy

  • @SeanOrange:

At 2:50, "Did you catch that ______?" - What did you say here Emily? Energy? What? It's driving me crazy, I've listened to it non-stop for seriously the last like 15 minutes and I can not catch it.

Please enlighten me oh holy one...

  • @LanIost "Did you catch that, Internet?"

  • If all Famocim Dojo episodes are this good, you'll have a lifelong subscriber :D

  • @mistertitanic You kidding? The ones we have coming down the pipe are BETTER. ;)

  • @SeanOrange Wow :O

  • @chaofreak8 Totally! Their hair isn't even parted the same!

  • "YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT SMALL?!"

    *Insert penis joke here*

  • @NicholasGalvan *Insert penis here*

    Hmm, too soon?

  • @SeanOrange Yeah i guess so. XD Sorry.

  • @chaofreak8 Nah, we're keeping it all 16-bit for now. ;)

  • @Vinnk What was that Playdia game you threw at A.TG16.N / A.PCE.N?

  • @Tailikku1 It was actually an FM towns game. The title is Glo-Ri-A. The playdia game that Alex was holding was Gamera: Time Adventure.

  • @Vinnk My apologies then, I was only basing it offa what PCE.N said. But still "WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE PLAYDIA?"

  • xD just how the mattel hyperspace was slapped out of his hand was just hilliarious.

  • My point and case: 8:28 to 8:37.

  • @NOOBNUT08 Clearly you missed the subtle humor of poking fun at those kinds of people.

  • @SeanOrange 1:17 I don't know why, but thAt expression cracks me up every time I see it.

  • I swear you weeaboos and wapanese are CRAZZZZYYYYYYY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NOOBNUT08 They sure are. The who now?

  • I think the PS2 slim is actually smaller than the PC Engine.

  • @therealhardrock You raise a potentially interesting point. I just checked it out, and the PS2 slim is only smaller in the height dimension, and maybe 60% longer (or wider, depending on how you're measuring it). And even if you hacked off that extra length and stacked it on top, it would actually then be taller than the PC Engine. It also wouldn't work. XD

  • The problem with the Playdia was that it was a Japan only console that couldn't compete the dominant systems that were popular world wide. This was the same problem faced by other Japan only consoles like the Wonderswan.

  • @therealhardrock Love me a Wonder Swan. Sometimes success in the Japanese market is all the companies are gunning for. Now that America makes its own console, it does bring up questions of Japanese relevance in the global gaming market.

  • @SeanOrange But Japanese companies are at a disadvantage when their competition has the financial backing of America but they don't which is why the PC Engine eventually lost to the Super Famicom and why NEC never made a successor to the PC Engine.

  • @therealhardrock NEC did make a successor to the PC Engine: the PC-FX. It was a 32-bit, disc-based system. There were also a few versions of the PC Engine such as the CoreGrafx and SuperGrafx. So it's not for lack of trying!

  • @SeanOrange Have you noticed that the major Japanese developers support the Wii much more than the other consoles? Just look at a list of games for the consoles and search for ones developed by Konami or Capcom or other major Japanese names and you'll see what I mean.

  • @therealhardrock Well, I'm not surprised that they support it over the 360, because Japan still hasn't taken much of a shine to "foreign" consoles -- Tecmo's previous Xbox-only stance not...withstanding. (There must have been a better way to phrase that!) I don't know about PS3 vs. Wii, though. The 3DS, on the other hand, has LOTS of developers creating great titles that the Wii hasn't been able to garner on either side of the ocean.

  • @therealhardrock Most of the Japanese actually perfer the PS2, it just so happens to be the most popular console there.

  • @Minervacantdie its most popular here too

  • Just started buffering this episode (downloading Linux distro at the same time).

Been waiting for a new episode. Thank you, finally. AmIRight?

  • @LanIost You're welcome! Sorry it took so long!

  • @SeanOrange Obviously, I have a few Super Famicom games. and I played it on My SNES.

  • You shouldv'e talked about Sega more >.<

  • @mistertitanic As I said in the episode, we'll come back to it!

  • @SeanOrange Maybe I shouldn't have commented while the video was playing then...lol

  • I love the playdia nerd

  • What about blast processing?

  • lol at hyperscan

  • It's a delicate balance. We try to be informative but also entertaining. Hopefully we are at least partially successful at these things. But yeah, the criticism is valid. Sean has a much better AV setup than me and my segments in both audio and video look notedly worse. That's why most of the speaking comes from Sean.

We could have just voice overs and shots of the gear but so many people already do that (better than us). We choose to throw in ninjas, nerds, talking consoles, ect.

  • I think the Angry PC Engine Nerd represents a lot of nerds who belittle people who don't know about things like the PC engine because most normal Americans only know about the consoles like the Genesis and Super Nintendo that were popular in America. In fact, Famicom Dojo is all about educating those people, isn't it?

  • @therealhardrock YES! You hit it right on the head.

  • I HAVE SPLATTERHOUSE IN MY POCKET!

  • big jewwario fan...AWSOME!

  • unsubed

  • @Sillyzombie666 cool story bro

  • @Sillyzombie666 Aw, don't be mad guy. What'd we do wrong?

  • 69th vid >.>

  • @TreasureChestReviews Is that really that important?

  • @Lachlant1984 Thats how old my grammy was when she died.....jerk.

  • @TreasureChestReviews Oh soap, how could I have missed that??

  • Loved the video. But then again you already know that, being that i was at the panel.

  • Pc nerd, is so sad, drinking his sakie

  • ha ha ur a dick

  • this is all awkward

  • @FaunoDufaux All of it?

  • @SeanOrange i really enjoy the parts where you are straight forward informative, showing off the gear. your presence is also nice, but i feel it could still look better. the parts where your friends would literally be in my face, spitting and screaming, was a little unbearable. such as the girls stop motion flash photos, it was uncomfortable. having a more consistent mic would really make it more enjoyable, too. BUT EVERYONE is a critic, right?

  • @FaunoDufaux Understandable. The blessing that is also a curse of doing shows like these is that no two people are physically in the same space and all need to use their own equipment. Heck, the entire show is predicated on the idea that Vinnk and I are already on opposite sides of the Pacific.

Worry not -- next few episodes we're settling down a bit more, but the format will continue to be... nonstandard.

  • @SeanOrange thanks for taking time to listen to my concerns, i appreciate it. : )

  • @FaunoDufaux Of course! We do this show because we love to do it (even if it takes forever sometimes), but it's worthless if people can't connect to it. And we are ALWAYS open to (constructive) criticism, so I thank you for both your candor and kindness.

  • @FaunoDufaux The use of the photos steams from the fact I don't have a good video camera, so instead of everything being grainy and poorly-lit, I opt for the better quality photos and make due as best I can. It's hard when obviously Sean has the better set-up, though.

  • @sindaemon What you could do is make the video tiny with lots of black around it like sega cd fmvs :D

  • JEW WARIO RULES!!

  • @DjWuzHear <3 J-Dub

  • 2:05 Obvious split screen is obvious.

    Great episode! Best Ending ever!!!

  • @ziggybomb200 hehe yeah sorry i couldn't get the lighting right and i rushed it :P

  • New episode! Good job!

  • "Famicom forever!" That is so gay!

  • Famicom 4 Ever!

  • The version of Space Harrier for the TG-16 was pretty damn good. Definitely better than the Master System, but not as good as the 32x one. Still, I play the TG-16 one more 'cause the 32X is a bitch and a half to set up.

  • @Titannel Who doesn't love hooking up two enormous power bricks and passthrough video cables whenever they play a game? Hahaha

  • LOLz Famicom pillow

  • @crissescore I wonder if that Famicom pillow is homemade or storebought?

  • @ebbhead1991 I could ask.

  • @ebbhead1991 Storebought. I have one too. Or used to before I got married.

  • great video mang nice to see it all finally!

  • @mexicanwaluigi I'm sorry it took so long! Thanks for being patient.

  • ending, i lold

  • best ending ever! lol

  • @internetwaffle Thanks! We realized we didn't have one, and sort of threw it together at the last second. Credit Vinnk with that sweet idea!

  • This episode was so epic. But what's with the surge of Powet Critics suddenly?

  • @the88thloser Well, most of these guys aren't Powet, they just did cameos because I bribed them with candy and horseback rides. Sindra runs KEEP PLAYING: Rewind, though, and has for the last year. These other guys have their own very non-Powet shows.

  • @SeanOrange You should bribe me to do a cameo instead. I would love to make my epic opinion on your show. Because longtime viewer Langland is Awesome that way.

  • @the88thloser How big a bribe we talking about? ;)

  • @Vinnk I don't know. I already would love to get on the show if I could.

  • At 09:43 I think you mean "Multi-Tap" not "Turbo-Tap"?

  • @Sebion1980 NEC renamed just about everything "Turbo" for the US release of the system (hence "Turbo Tap"), as you will see when we review a certain TG16 peripheral...

  • Mmmmm wagamama, yum! Excellent video!

  • nice parodies and an ace episode :D ... btw was that the critic in the hat ?

  • lol...hudson or NEC wanted to sell Nintnedo kool data chips or whatever and nintendo didnt want ti apperently. so thanks god they made the pc engine ! great vid hopefully more people will find out about this system and love it !

  • Fukken finally! Nice to see something new from you guys!

  • @lethaljellybean best show on the web!

  • @lethaljellybean Always nice to make 'em! We'll be doing more for sure.
