  • Oooo! "add/adhd isn't actually affecting 40%+ of all children" so that what you are trying to say!!....i don't know...that "you don't have to invent a disease for it" and "that sound like a child to me" part could have fooled me.

i could be wrong, but that sounded like you are disregarding add/adhd as a whole and call it as a hoax and belittle who ever have add/adhd symptom and call them a "child"....

i am just saying man, that could offend someone that really have these "attributes"...

  • it is fine that you criticize how an non authorized personal give out diagnostic,

it is also fine that you shear your opinion on the drug,

but saying add/adhd is not real, that is not fine man.

it's almost like saying "disease isn't real, and all sickness are caused by witches and we must kill all cats."

think about what you said man.

  • @hairypotter1234

err, no. you are confused. just as the statement "disease is real and is caused by pathogens" is backed by science and "disease isn't real and is caused by witches" is not backed by science,

the statement "add/adhd isn't actually affecting 40%+ of all children" is backed by science and the statement "40% of children today are afflicted by add/adhd and we need to give them speed" is not backed by science

  • @hairypotter1234 hey man. He is completely entitled to his own opinion. What this kid just said is a huge testament to how ridiculous adhd is. You need to open your mind and realize that the medical industry is evil. Him saying that adhd is a false disorder is no where even close to saying that disease isnt real. what kind of a statement is that? You think about what You said you moron.

  • @DGordonN hey...i didn't say that he can't have opinion. In fact, everyone should have their own opinion, but not all of them is necessarily right. For example *please don't be offended* "all Asian can do math, or all Africans can jump", that could be someone's opinion, but i don't think that it is right nor accurate.

  • @DGordonN I do recognized some drug company is going after money, selling bogus drugs, even paid doctors to give out wrong diagnostics, but still can't denied the fact that add exist. and by him saying that adhd is false, doesn't that means it is not true?

perhaps it is you that need rethinking.

and why the name calling?does it give you an illusion that you are more intellectual than me?Does it help you to denote w.e statement i make? i gotta tell you...that's kind of pathetic man...

  • also peolple who abuse the drugs arent even responsible enough to use it. not everyone who has amphetamines is a speed-head

  • first of all, YES, ADD/ ADHD is real. i take dextroamphetamines, which is a psychostimulant. it is also more powerful than racemic amphetamines, but is also similar to racemic methanphetamine. it is used for my concentration and depression. it has actually helped me out. plus you should just read shit off a screen and act like you know all this shit, when you dont know a god damn thing about it.

  • If you think its a hoax then you have not experienced it yourself to know. I cannot concentrate on ANYTHING for an extended period of time and have lack of interest to the point I dont want to even get out of bed in the morning. I take dextroamphetamine and it is not something that gets me high, it makes me able to function on a daily basis, without it I could not do so. Its nothing like speed, cocaine, etc., those are abused. There are people who fake, who are misdiagnosed, but not everyone.

  • @xlDeathlxJosey

speed IS dextroamphetamine bro. they are the same drug.

  • @JohnWittle Yes very much so, but the key difference is that speed is the name you use when you abuse it. It has the opposite effect when you have ADD, it does not speed you up but calms you down and increases concentration.

  • ADHD/ADD is real

If you have a problem with possible neurotoxicity than don't take any type of drug in general. Just deal with your disorder if you have one. NOTE, not all side affects you mentioned are daily.

As for me i'll stick with the boosted levels of dopamine that i'm lacking to function adequately.

  • Fantastic Research, my friend. I have known this for a while now. I believe that for some, it is somewhat safe to take. That somewhat can be a bit of a stretch, but bear with me here.. Some people, I suppose, cannot 'succeed' without it. I myself, have ADD, but only take the medication (Ritalin) when I ABSOLUTELY NEED it. This, of course, is to help reduce the future brain damage that could potentially come right along with using psychostimulants. Those that take these drugs, dont have kids.

  • you are right-fuckin-on with that info dude. it amazes me that the FDA has no problem approving a substance with such a high potential for abuse as well as high toxicity while at the same time there are substances that are nowhere near as harmful that they wont even aknowledge.

  • thats a hero right there!

  • You sound like a very smart young man. I hope you are taking your education seriously so that you will be a huge benefit to society when you are grown. I am a teacher and I agree that teachers can't diagnose ADD. They can only suggest testing. Schools are ill equipped to deal with children that cannot stay in their seat, stay focused, etc. that children with "ADD" have. My 27 yr. old son got on Adderal when he was 14 and it has saved him. I would like to know you, keep on thinking

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, you obviously have never been around many teachers after their school hours to see how hard they work to prepare for teaching their classes. Blanket statements like "teachers are lazy" are bigoted and ignorant

  • Exactly, a teacher cannot diagnose it... but if you get an official clear from a psychiatrist, then the teachers really can't say or do anything.

Ritilin is more related to cocaine, and Adderall is just amphetamine and dextroamphetamine.

  • i have ADHD and i take AP classes.

i do agree that teachers shouldn't try to diagnose students.

and ritalin is not a good drug for anybody

i take adderall, i grew a tollerance within a week and they did infact have to increase my dosage.

insombnia is deffinately a huge side effect!

but i do believe that ADHD is a real mental "disorder"

i just think that people make too big of a deal about it and now everybody thinks their kid has it

really though it isn't as bad as it's all made up to look

  • You list the possible side effects of stimulant use as if it's supposed to be bad. What exactly is wrong with increasing people's ability to learn, whether or not ADD is real? We "drug" our children with antibiotics and many other drugs (the possible side effects of which can be much worse than any stimulant). Why is that bad? Should we disallow medicine altogether simply because it may lead to negative side effects, even though it generally alleviates us of unnecessary pain and suffering?

  • You list some factual accuracies about stimulants and their *possible* side-effects and conclude your video by saying that "we don't have to invent a disease to drug our children." What is your reasoning for the conclusion that it is a hoax?

  • faggot

  • hey man, FUCK YOU. u make no sense. adderal works and all u did was read shit from wikipedia ass hole. fuck you.

  • my, my. The education system seems to have left you behind in the vocabulary department

  • I get your rant on this. It actually makes sense, except I don't consider ADD a hoax since I suffer from it myself as a young adult. I was under the impression that teachers were outlawed for diagnosing someone with a disorder like ADD/ADHD. My father is a teacher and has meantioned that he has seen students show signs of it, but that he is only a teacher and not a specialist in that field, therefor cannot diagnose it or even use the phrase "ADD" to the student or his parents...

  • ... When students with learning disabilities get occational oportunities for extended time or other perks, it can really help. In college, I had to immediately let me professors know of my position and was able to work something out that did end with good results, but the thing that sucks is that some that don't have a learning disability have taken advantage of it and used it to their own sake...

  • ... But about ritalin, there are other drugs that have been advized over it due to ingrediants and leaving it aside to selective brands like Stratera. The problem is that these drugs can bring side affects that one has to choose whether it is worth it or not. ADD has become a bigger struggle in my adult life than in my childhood, but I also think you're right that teachers and parents alike have had quite a casual approach to it which I think has resulted to skeptics like yourself.

  • ADD is not the same as ADHD

  • Err... The professional medical community disagrees.

  • Not on Earth they don't.

  • You are wrong.

  • The specific chemical formulas are not very relevant as there are thousands for one formula due to various kinds of isomers - what you described are relatively simple organic compounds (like caffeine which also carries side effects - for some). But to put it in a larger perspective, these drugs, when used appropriately, have helped many people. I've never used any myself, but I've known many college students who use them to study - and they swear by it.

  • I agree these drugs present serious potential problems for some people. And you sound like a smart kid but if several teachers (even if they aren't medical doctors) suggest you have a focus issue, then it raises a red flag. Its insightful to think outside the box and question the use of a suggested medication, however, can you really be sure of your position if you've never tested it? Of course, I dont know you, but you may be one of the ppl who really needs it - not the kind who just abuses it.

  • Detailed response coming later; headed to bed right now.

  • The only thing that having so many teachers accussing a student of ADHD demonstrates is that they are are trained with the same psychobabble and fraudulent theorys on mental illness. They turn tachers into pschiatric deputys and drug pushers. What you mention about Drugs like Ritalin vs. Cocaine is true. Dr. Volkow demonstrated this and also that it doesn't matter if the child is diagnosed or not with ADHD. If he swallows the pill he'll suffer the same intoxication. ADHD =100% FRAUD.

  • Normal is an ambiguos concept. normally defined by whoever has the power. No one has ADHD as a medical validated illness, proved by an objective laboratory test. They have it via a system of belief prey of of a medicalized culture via the power of effective marketung. However the drug makes you feel, it's like anyone who takes cocaine or gets drunk: you might feel a certain and short high or euphoria. Doesn't mean your sick, It means you are on drugs.

  • Your teachers are crazy for not recognizing your intelligence. Don't worry about paying attention to them. They don't have anything to say that you can't learn on your own. If they did they would be a professor at a university...

  • Very true! I totally agree with you. too bad not everybody gets to learn the truth about ADHD and Ritalin and similar drugs. I mean, why don't we just give our kids crystl meth?

P.S. thanx 4 helping me with an assignment.

  • Quite welcome. Lucky that you were able to view it just hours after I put it up.
