I second that. Ive been playing doom since 1993 and wolf3d duke3d and rise of the triad the best four fps of all time and the goldeneye game is by far the best doom mod ever because it was based off of the doom engine. I love my fps

@Rikuproductionz You can use an emulator on your computer, and there is an online client for it, with a decent sized community. You don't use the n64 at all, just download the emulator and the game.

I miss this game. This game is still fun when you have a bunch of friends. I had to give my N64 away because we got a ps(1 or 2) and a gamecube. If I still had this and my friends that would still play this, didnt move, or didnt go Gay by playing the new fps like halo and make fun of this we would still be hanging out over night playing this. This game will never go "old". i always won because I always memorized where the Uzi is.

YOU LIE, perfect Dark was better, in my opinion(OPINION) even though it came after. 007 save data even released some features such as guns(Golden Magnum) and maps in Perfect Dark (64). Me and my 3 friends played it for hours and days and days, despite having 007.007, Perfect Dark, Super Smash bros and Mario Party back then=Awesome week.

Half-Life 1&2 are overrated, not bad, but overrated (still better than Goldeneye, but still), Bioshock is close, but no cigar, not better than Goldeneye, System Shock is a horror game put in first person, and yes, I would call that the best FPS of all time. System Shock 1&2 are awesome :3

@oddmartinsand An FPS is a game that takes place in the first person. So Fallout 3 is in both the FPS and TPS genre's. Half-Life 2 is tied with Fallout 3 as the best FPS' released so far in my opinnion. I can't see how Half-Life is overrated seeing as how innovative it is. The only thing Goldeneye did was splitscreen multiplayer, and Perfect Dark was 10X better as a whole than Goldeneye in the first place.

@MGSKakashi No, Fallout 3 is more of an RPGFPS, while STALKER is more of a FPSRPG. There's a big difference. A game simply being put in first person isn't a FPS, but a First-Person game. Portal, for example, is a FPP (First-Person Puzzle)

Half-Life was just the first FPS with a serious story, nothing more, and therefore I find it overrated. Actually, scratch that, HL2 is overrated. I've only played the first part of HL1, so I can't really voice my opinion about that. I'm out of letters... D:

Trying to break down the FPS genre into different gerne's like a FPP (really?) is pointless. FPS is synonymous with First Person. If a game is in the First Person, it's a FPS.

Half-Life was groundbreaking, not just in gameplay and story but also in modding. So many great games are mods of Half-Life.
