Regardless, many people think that soldiers and pyros are easy to pick up and cause a lot of damage. I disagree. On my first day of tf2, being only slightly familiar with fps's, I managed to score 17 kills in one life with the heavy, and less than 5 with all the other classes. Everyone thinks that pyros are overpowered, but I think heavies are. *holds up hands in defence against angry heavy players*

Heavy isn't that easy. Spies and snipers kill you with ease, soldier only need 4 good shots at you, and since your so slow, thats easy, and pyros can kill you with circle-strafing.

Seriously though, pipes are only effective in a few situations against opponents with good (unpredictable) movement, and stickies have the det delay. Rockets have a smaller clip, and therefore are less effective for killing multiple/overhealed opponents. But beyond that... hitting the ground near your target's feet with a rocket is a hell of a lot easier than directly hitting their feet with a pipe, or managing to det a sticky under them (again, if they have good movement)

His ceiling is higher, but the floor for spy is much higher up than for soldier. Think of it this way: the average spy is going to have a lot more trouble getting good than the average soldier, but spy has a less versatile class, so his options are somewhat limited as opposed to soldier airshots, the only thing spy has is stair stabs.
