The idea I was expressing is that a lot of times the outward expression of joy some display, dancing, etc. is empty. They do it because it's "fun" and with little regard for the true joy that can be felt in Christ. I was one of the "dancers" "drinkers" in bible college. Im sorry but i completely and entirely disagree with you. As a minister myself I do not "dance" because I am drunk or just because its "fun". I do it because I am redeemed by the blood of the lamb. The Holy Ghost will change the way your mind works, inward and outward experiences, and your worship. I have no doubt of the intention of the pastor or singer in this video. But something is wrong here. Why they have to use a song to induce a holy spirit to move among them with a repetitive pattern?...in every video that I see here, music is involve....why?...is a truly movement or suggestion by music?
Thats a good observation. Using music, particularly repetitive music, is a common trait amongst religions. Especially to induce trance like states, in this case being "filled by the holy spirit." I suspect there was also a significant influence from Africa, brought by the slaves. Their manner of worship is much more lively than the Anglican or Catholic churches of Europe.

@cocoapuffaddict I have observed. I have seen my own religious sister who trusted God %100 lose everything. Her religious husband, her house, job etc. and all along she believed god was protecting and guiding her. She is so far gone she still believes it.

I too concluded that God was probably not God, & if He was, then I didn't want any part. My back turned to God. I was running into the world and indulging all the sins God forbid me to do. 3 years later, I found myself in the most miserable state of my life & on the brink of suicide...

Yes it makes you feel good, yes it can take your life and transform it into a different state of mind, yes it can be positive for your health but being blissfully ignorant is something i don't want. Trust me i had the jesus drug for 40 yrs and i got educated which freed me from the shackles of religion.

"God, if you're there, if you still want me, melt my cold, callous heart of stone. Shatter it to pieces. Then make me anew." This, coming from a man who didn't expect an answer. This was either a Thurs. or Fri. night. Every Tues., I would see a friend of mine (also fallen away from God).

I had new friends they invited me over fo supper often, we prayed, went to bible studies, church on sunday listened to the seductive trance-inducing music and boom i was feeling good. Despite all the colds i got from other members. Oh yeah god heals cancers etc. but the common cold he has not been able to do that. The mind is very, very gullible to belief systems.

Also, the Spirit that wrote the Bible, is the same Holy Spirit necessary to understand the Bible. Revelation tells us that the word was sealed & God alone was worthy to open the seals. People think they can go to a school & learn to "decode" the Bible. It takes the Spirit of God to see and know the truth of His word. Seek Him, and He will reaveal Himself to you
@cocoapuffaddict The bible is not even inspired by God. If it was it would be perfect, clear, and understood so as not to cause hundred's of interpretations resultin in 100's of denominations. The errors, contradictions and false prophecies in the bible are so clearly laid out that a person with an 8th grade education can understand it. @Gayfreewill She had been to a church with an old friend of hers. I scoffed at the idea she had gone. When I spoke to her about it that Tues., there was something in was she said that drew me in. She could hardly find words to describe it to me, all should could say was what that church had was real. It was unlike anything she'd seen or known. Still skeptical, I decided it was worth a visit the next Sun.

An insane man given a sound mind. Pysical reduction of oversized and distorted body part. All these things and more, including the miracles the naked eye cannot see, I have been a witness of. God's spirit is real. It is alive. There is one way, one truth, and one life.
@cocoapuffaddict I have heard the same accounts within other religions. Yes so-called healings and miracles in Islam, Hinduism and simply the no-god approach of positive affirmations. This perhaps is a testament to positive mental energy and the power of the mind. I don't knowbut i do know it is not jesus.
I have seen people with no cancer get cancer, people wih good vision lose their vision, healthy people become sick. Many are in the church. I have seen prayers unanswered. goes both ways.
@cocoapuffaddict I havent for one seen blind eyes opened but I have heard wonderful stories of it happening my pastors wife was blind in one of her eyes and now she can see perfect I was told about it all though this all took place before I was born I have seen people healed of other stuff in church mostly minor things I guess they would be like physical pain like back aches ear aches then I have seen people given up to die then turn around 100%

The idea I was expressing is that a lot of times the outward expression of joy some display, dancing, etc. is empty. They do it because it's "fun" and with little regard for the true joy that can be felt in Christ. I was one of the "dancers" "drinkers" in bible college. The Holy Ghost will change the way your mind works, inward and outward experiences, and your worship. I get that, but all this video's are titled Holy Ghost and Fire or Holy Ghost power with fire. All the comments are like "Acts 2!!" Well, I read Acts 2, and there's a couple things that make more NOT like Acts than is.
A) No Loud Wind Sound
B) No Visible Fire
C) No Earthly Foriegn Languages
D) No Understanding of those languages
E) No Healing
F) No Selling all the goods and giving to needs
G) No Gospel that the Son of God is salvation
These video's don't resemble Acts 2 in any way.

Thats a good observation. Using music, particularly repetitive music, is a common trait amongst religions. Especially to induce trance like states, in this case being "filled by the holy spirit." I suspect there was also a significant influence from Africa, brought by the slaves. Their manner of worship is much more lively than the Anglican or Catholic churches of Europe.

Those who are not keep believing in this religion stuff despite no evidence and despite it does simply not work. @Gayfreewill She had been to a church with an old friend of hers. I scoffed at the idea she had gone. When I spoke to her about it that Tues., there was something in was she said that drew me in. She could hardly find words to describe it to me, all should could say was what that church had was real. It was unlike anything she'd seen or known. Still skeptical, I decided it was worth a visit the next Sun.

@cocoapuffaddict I know you mean well, but i sincerely and truly tell you i too was what they call a "holy spirti-filled born again christian. I cannot stress enough how religion is a drug. It does alter your whole perception of reality and distorts everything. Yes it makes you feel good but i just don't care to do that drug anymore. It is detrimental to the forward progress of equal rights and always has been. The christian mentality is you either believe like us or go to hell. No Sale!

I KNOW God is real, & I have seen His had at work in the world. My hope is that you too will experience God in the fullness of His reality. My heart goes out to you. ALL religions claim supernatural happenings so are they all right? No. They are all wrong. It is so very, very easy to manipulate the minds of humans. Afterall we are ignorant and weak and believe most anything that comes along.
I thought too god was real at one time and "felt" his presence. It was truly a delusion. I can admit it now.

An insane man given a sound mind. Pysical reduction of oversized and distorted body part. All these things and more, including the miracles the naked eye cannot see, I have been a witness of. God's spirit is real. It is alive. There is one way, one truth, and one life.

@cocoapuffaddict I have heard the same accounts within other religions. Yes so-called healings and miracles in Islam, Hinduism and simply the no-god approach of positive affirmations. This perhaps is a testament to positive mental energy and the power of the mind. I don't knowbut i do know it is not jesus.
I have seen people with no cancer get cancer, people wih good vision lose their vision, healthy people become sick. Many are in the church. I have seen prayers unanswered. goes both ways.

@cocoapuffaddict I havent for one seen blind eyes opened but I have heard wonderful stories of it happening my pastors wife was blind in one of her eyes and now she can see perfect I was told about it all though this all took place before I was born I have seen people healed of other stuff in church mostly minor things I guess they would be like physical pain like back aches ear aches then I have seen people given up to die then turn around 100%

We have to do more than just sing the old songs, we need to live the life of old and get back to the true ways and worship God in spirit and in truth... Still living for the LORD, but the church body made One Very Small Mistake, They wanted Certain Evangelist to come by to lead a Revival Meeting [ They were United Pentecostals] Numbered with us but not one of us. Trinitarian beliefs date back even before Christianity itself so don't try to label believing in God in three persons as a Roman Catholic thing.. Those crazy ppl pray to John, Paul, and Mary even. They worship Mary.. It is a sick thing. We worship God the Father, we pray in the name of Jesus, and we speak in tongues and other things like that where the Holy Ghost comes in.
