  • ownage is an understatement... no word for it, the man is a genius

  • When a player of Efren's class is in dead stroke it could be anyone sat in the hot chair. Efren truly is a God of the game, but also MUCH respect to Kunihiko for sitting through 5 racks then keeping his cool to make that tricky runout

  • For those wanting to look the Japanese player up, his name is "Kunihiko Takahashi." He shows some pretty damn nice stuff here! I don't think he has played in tournaments for a few years.

  • @GetMeThere1 probably one of the most forgotten world champion

  • Efren always says he played better in the eighties.

  • Efren plays like God here.

    Amazing.

  • honestly im not sure what to be more impressed by, efren's 5-nil start or kunihko's first shot coming from a 5 round deficit...great pool

  • who is Dick Dickerson?

  • 07:07 wooooow amazing !!!

  • spectacular bank by the Japanese guy.

  • it look like he's playing by himself

  • dude, the commentator needs to shut up, Buddy Hall is good, but...

  • dude thats the cut break.most 9 ball players tend to cut the 1 ball to the side pocket when they're breaking.

  • As they finally noticed it at 2:05, efren pulled the one ball 4 times stright to the same pocket and had the same position on the 2 ball. Amazing. he knows how to break

  • Actually there was 1 game that he didn't have the same position on the 2 ball. The opening rack he had position for the 2 in the lower left corner, the next 3 racks were in the left side pocket.

  • what happened to takahashi anyway?gud player..

  • he is playing perfect pool.

  • you know what theyre both really good here. one of the best matches iv seen ever

  • efren's so good here, its kinda eerie really..

  • omg perfect position

    2 cushions

    ridiculous

    2:10

  • 3:54 stay awake lol

  • i feel bad for kuniko...

  • Don't. Three years later he won the world championship.

  • how? he beat reyes?

  • He beat Johnny Archer in the 1998 final. I don't know if he played Reyes in that year's tournament.

  • i never heard efren was a drug addict. bullshit

  • No, but he was a heavy smoker.

  • yes this is true. but he was a drug addict is total bullshit

  • I know

  • its disgusting how good he is in dead stroke. his position play literally makes me sick cause no matter how good i get ill never shoot like that. simply amazing

  • He's just the most intimidating guy there is when he's at a pool table. Even when he performs like this, he doesn't show any emotion. For the opponent, this must have carried the message that Efren is just gonna destroy him when he returns to the table.

Even today, when he plays important matches for a lot of money, this intimidating attitude of his comes through again.

  • great video

  • I bet the egg at japanese ass is already hatched!

  • Correction- Efren has been in the US Open finals 3 times not twice, 1994win, 1996lost to Morris, 1997lost to Earl.

  • i was there in 96, efren kept drawing the cueballback off the break into the corner pocket like 3 times. then a couple bad kicks after break, and morris's were wide open, with fast easy patterns. earl didnt play in 96. 1st and only time they held the tourny at v. beach v. pavalion. i drove 16 hours to stay there the who week by myself with a vip pass. pretty cool met jeff carter in the elevator of my motel. morris pocketed the last ball and i headed out.

  • correction again 4 times man: consecutive1994,1995,1996,1997 US Open Finalist.

  • yes. this is Efren at his best career run 1994 to 1996. he won 3 world titles, been to the US Open finals twice, beat Earl strickland (won $100k) he was player of the year 1995&1996.

  • He didn't actually win 100k, but 70k. He and Strickland agreed to a 70-30 split, before the event.

  • u r wrong, i taught him to play, lol

  • Efren handles the cue ball way too good, I think he's from another planet or something.

  • nice video DeathByLight! i am subscribing for more vids of Reyes The Greatest""

  • Kunihko was more impressive in this video. Running open tables when in the lead... easy. Takahashi's out was tough, and he'd been sitting for 5 racks!

  • fantastic cue ball

    fantastic efren

  • efren is a machine! this not is human

  • I believe this is efren at his peak

  • @DeathByLight Actually he said his best what at the 70's... if only he got to the US earlier imagine what he could have done...
