Nothing beats the pure beauty of the Ferrari (or any exotic ftm.) but so saying to the Bmer haters here, the mods were MINIMAL for power gains; Gaining 15 hp at best , and the Diff would only gain applicable torque, while slowing him down between shifts (ask how I know).

I think the M did a pretty dern good job being a "Big" 4 seat bmer, one whose relative cost was a small fraction of the Ferrari's. Also for those stuck on his "Mods", look up the HPF M3s. I have an M, and someday want a 355...

Look at what differential the M3 is using. 4.10 diff. are good for street racing and trucks pulling a boat. Let them race from 0 to what ever and the 355 would win every time. The BMW would have a hard time getting power to the ground (spinning tires) and would never be able to catch up to the Ferrari.

How can you compare gears like for like as a test of pace?? That is a test of ratio's!

The test should be carried out at certain speeds in the optimum gear to suit each cars rev range.

The test would then be fair and the Ferrari would win.
