  • RIP RAY COMBS...fuck his wife...shoulda helped him... but ignore my iggnorance..RIP

  • Please; I'm begging you. Please just give people a chance before you judge them. It's so unfair. If someone did that to you, you would know that it's not something that you should make game of.

  • @mightydyckerson GO DIE IN HELL YOU F***ING IDIOT. ALL YOU DO IS POST VIDOES OF SHOWS NOBODY WATCHES ANYMORE AND MAKE FUN OF DEAD KIDS. RIP Ben Breedlove.

  • RIP Ray.

  • He seems so creepy here

  • ray combs seems so creepy in this video

  • Notice that he did not talk to the families on his last show.

  • Does anyone have the final episode of the daytime Family Feud rom 1994?

  • When the producers decided to let Ray go and bring back Richard Dawson, it really devastated Ray. Though he did go on to host "Family Challenge" on the Family Channel, it wasn't the same for him and he eventually killed himself. I believe Ray Combs had great potential to be a very sucessfully game show host but unfortunately he didn't give himself a chance because he was so distraught over being fired from Family Feud and thus lost all of his confidence.

  • ...I'D KILL MYSELF TOO IF MY LAST NAME WAS...COOOOOOOOOOOOOOMBSSSSSSS!!!

  • @itubeTourettesGuy I was thinking of that line.

  • i wish i would have remembered you. my mom named me after your daughter :) i don't believe the rumors, i will always be part of your family. i love you.

  • RIP ... I loved ya Ray!!!!

  • In fact, Sunday marked 14 years since he hung himself.

  • Am I the only one that hates that GSN has stopped reairing Combs Family episodes?

  • @peakster753 Not at all. It pisses me off, too. It's like they're trying to pretend he never existed. Horrible.

  • Best Family Feud host in the history of the show, and it's just sad that his life ended so tragically =(

  • No He didn't!!!! He hung himself.

  • u suck

  • @RySenkari lol touerttes guy

  • Where's the full episode?

  • The five questions starting at $1,000 all the way through $5,000 in increments of $1,000 for each family member for the 11th Season of Bullseye Round of Family Feud. Same rules apply for the Ray Combs version except the Families start putting $15,000 into their banks.

  • Bullseye Round is making a comeback for the 11th Season of Family Feud hosted by John O'Hurley.

  • by far the best FF host ever

  • His wife re-married not too long afterwards. It's really sad. Poor guy lost everything and it seemed like he didn't have close friends and his own family seemed to be against him...I shouldn't blame them because i don't really know the whole story but it really seems like he had no support.

  • Combs was eventually admitted to the psychiatric ward of Glendale Adventist Medical Center and placed on a 72-hour mental observation hold. At about 4:10 in the morning, Pacific Standard Time, on Sunday, June 2, 1996, he committed suicide by removing the sheets from his bed and using them to hang himself in the closet of his hospital room.[4] His family relied upon a $25,000 donation from Johnny Carson to pay for funeral expenses.[3] Combs is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio.

  • Ray Combs you'll always be the best game show host family feud has ever had. Rest in peace.

  • Wow ,it's negative to post what actually happened?Oh well

  • why is it just because someone kills themselves that they HAVE to have a ilness!!?? maybe some people are just fed up with life and cant take it anymore, i mean look at our soliders , they are killing themselves at a alarming rate! its from being away from home and seeing all that crap over in iraq and from losing their homes due to greedy banks and foreclosure!

  • Um, thats a ilness.

So tell me, how is the prozac working on you?

  • your a idiot!! being unhappy with ones life and wanting to end it IS NOT A ILNESS!

  • good quote jrjr !!

  • your right it is an illness

  • (Sorry meant to leave this as the last part)I wish i remembered the year so i could figure out if he was promoting Feud.I've always wondered what the heck he was doing in that store that night.

  • I grewup in a poor black neighborhood in Philly, anyway, one night as a young teen i went to the grocery store and after paying for my items and walking down the aisle to leave my eyes darted to the left for a moment and of all the people in the world Ray Combs was standing in the front of the store.

  • I'm not the type to gawk at a celeb so i just walked out of the store without acknowledging him.He probably thought this kid has no idea who i am ,but i did.I feel guilty about it now but i was a kid and even though i knew him he was a stranger so the "don't talk to strangers" mode kicked in.Judging him from only the glance i had of him he seemed like a nice guy, maybe a little unsure of himself.

  • I would ask "What could cause such a good-looking, charismatic guy to do such a thing as kill himself." The answer can be summed up in one single word. WOMAN.

  • I don't think it qualifies as the 'New' FF when this is the last episode with the 'new' format. The producers (or whoever makes this kind of decision) should have figured out some way for Combs not to have to host after he knew he was leaving. I guess they may have and he chose to host anyway but he seems agitated in clip #2. Were there any indications that he had a mental/mood disorder before his accident?

  • I've never seen any reports of that - it was the combination of this and the car accident, the failure of his club and his separation from his wife that drove him over the edge. I'd look for "Family Challenge" clips to see evidence of his illness, if I were so inclined. Which frankly I am not - I'd rather remember him as the vibrant, energetic guy he was.

  • Ray's episodes are on at 9:30 Am on week days!

  • Ray's episodes are on at 9:30 on week days!

  • I've never seen Studio 33 with such a yellow background. The walls look almost bare (maybe b/c I'm so used to watching Match Game & Price Is Right.

  • Poor Ray Combs. So sad.

  • @staceytrim him Dawson and John O Hourley are the best it would have been cool if they had a Morning Noon and Late Night one with Dawnson hosting one Ray hosting one and John Hosting one but where to put the hosts.

I'd put Ray in the morning to get my day going Richard to keep the momentum going and John to wind down

  • I hope GSN airs the finale Family Feud with Ray Combs.

  • The Celebrity Family Feud premieres tonight, I love it that this show keeps coming back, it never gets old IMO.

  • Hot dogs?! WTF..

  • it's like the bankroll

  • Can anyone please remake this video of Ray Combs Finale, there is couple of rounds of play missing?

  • This episode also marked the end of an 18 year period when Family Feud looked and sounded like FAMILY FEUD!

  • I think he handled himself pretty damn good for his last show considering he lost his job to the man he replaced. I think that Ray's "exit" at the end was his way of saying "i can't hold it in any longer".

  • I agree. If Ray Combs was still in television then he would be alive today

  • That's because Ray was not aware that he was going to be dumped. Shortly after that episode was taped, Ray was involved in a serious car accident that left him in the hospital for weeks. It was during his hospital stay that they fired Ray and brought back Richard. The show was on hiatus for a year during that time.

  • Sorry. Nope. And had you watched the second part of this posting, you'd find out that Ray DID know this was his last show... as reported virtually EVERYWHERE.

Ray DID have a car accident, which contributed to his emotional decline, but you're in need of a bit more information.

  • Ever since Ray Combs left the show and the champs behind, Richard Dawson returned.

RIP Raymond Neil Combs Jr (1956-1996)

  • I can't believe he hung himself with bed sheets in closet. Man, what a way to go.

  • I keep thinking that Ray Combs looks simular to Pat Sayjack, host of wheel of fortune.

  • I remember watching a few of these episodes as a little kid and at the time I was thinking the exact same thing.

  • Ray Combs was a host of Family Feud, Ray was better known as a host who committed suicide

  • Did GSN ever air Ray's final Family Feud?

  • I Think so.

  • yy, too bad, we came close to seeing the finale.

  • Ray Combs' version was back on as of 8/6/07.

  • What about the Main Game from the finale?

  • Now could Ray and the contestants actually see the answers on the bullseye or are they just doing that for effect?

  • They could actually see the answers. Don't worry, it's not like the *later* 1994 version. :)

  • was it projected on the bullseye or something?

  • No, I think it was a TV. Notice that there's a small box-like border around the Bullseye. Either that was an early version of a plasma screen or a regular TV was placed in there.

  • GSN is airing the NEW Family Feud featuring the bullseye game every weekday at 5:00.

  • Not anymore. Went off its schedule on 6/4.

  • Not anymore. It came back at 12:30 PM as of 8/6

  • God bless you ray...you cried out for help; but no one listened..

    Bob Combs

  • The Bull-eye game...what a way to add on to the banks on Family Feud! It was one of my favorites!

  • UPDATE: The Jackie Thomas Show who was on Family Feud with Rosanne won the maximum jackpot of $20,000 on Tuesday.

  • I liked Richard dawsen Better then Ray Cumbs

  • There once was an opening to the Family Feud Challenge. Why did the video have to get scrapped?

  • Because the user, Ccook, was banned.

  • Why?

  • I dunno. I think he put something copyrighted up without permission or something.

  • Could it be a Copyright Claim by something?

  • The letter has already been sent, so it only asks about what he thought about Ray. He may talk a bit about the revival though, never know.

  • Hey, speaking of which, have you gotten anything back yet?

  • I haven't.

  • I was gonna write a letter to Richard, had a few questions to ask him (about why he didn't return for Feud in 99, and why he didn't appear on Louie's first show like Louie had wanted). If you want I could ask about his thoughts on Ray as well.

  • Yeah , I was very curious about that, also if you could ask how he felt about the 88-94 Feud in General.

  • No Feud Challenge episodes here. And I've never heard Dawson mention Ray's name...nor have I heard Ray talk about Dawson. I don't get it.

  • Actually, Ray did talk about Richard... but only a very brief comment, when someone mistakenly called him "Richard." He said, "You can call me Richard. Besides, he hosted the same show I'm hosting today!" Another time was when someone was reflecting on how Richard kissed all the women, and then asked Ray if he'd ever been kissed by Richard Dawson. Ray said, "No, can't say that I have." LOL!

  • Richard did mention Ray just by first name on the opening of one '94 episode. Someone wrote in saying "I don't like you, Richard, and I don't like that other guy either." Richard then said "Watch the Game Show Network, you may see Ray and I as contestants on their interactive games."

  • Maybe Mightydyckerson has that episode. I would love to see that.

  • I still to this day wonder how Richard Dawson felt about Ray Combs' style of hosting. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Anyone have an episode of the Family Feud Challenge from CBS?
