  • I loved that was very interesting to hear your take on the book, I have not read but came across the author and think he is a legend! awesome man! alot of people even myself sometimes get carried away with the new terminologies they attach to a horrific exploitative act, slavery exists and continues today. the number of times my lectures some of them have said 'you mean low wage poor economic migrants' what the hell! im glad theres people like Kevin Bales.

  • Being from a small conservative Southern town myself, I can completely empathize with the apathy and ignorance.

If you are interested in slave narratives, I heartily recommend David Blight's book A Slave No More (along with his other writings) and the work of Adam Hochschild. I recently found them amongst the dreadful collection of my local library; they, and Chalmers Johnson's Blowback trilogy, seem like the metaphorical diamonds in the rough. The sheer number of Iraq apologia is frightening.

  • one word "EVIL".

  • well, thank GOD for my subscribers!!!!!

  • keep doing what your doing.

  • actually "slave-trade" does still exist.

    Regardless of race.

  • i'm glad your talking about this, we live in real dark times, people always tell me to shut up too. I got the 2009 world report from the human rights watch, good reference, in 1949, sixty years ago, was the 'Universal Declaration of Hunam Rights' , the governments that block implimentation, US, Isreal and others, known as 'spoilers', prevent real legal protection of these poor people suffering modern slavery. There is no real international law, but we do have the frame work at least : )

  • Have you considered that the people you're talking to just don't WANT to accept what you know? They would like to believe slavery is something that is centuries gone. But if they accept that "traditional slavery" exists, then they may have to accept that they are slaves of another fashioning. In current society I expect this to be one of the last things to go. As far as I can tell it has poisoned our values for as long as we've been counting time. How do we stop it without a reset button?
