..I'm sorry but these protesters need some goddamn perspective in their lives, I'm a Public Sector worker and in the past I have spent 2-3 years doing aid work in Sierra Leone, Burma and Bangladesh. When you visit these places you then see what real hardship and unfairness is and when I came back to Britain it made me eternally grateful for what I have, I don't moan..I just get on with things.
@hashmonster2004 ARE YOU DUMN! that lady who was talking is one of the most hard working teahers i have ever known and i ve been to a lot of shools in my 16 years so dont you DARE say they dont know what a hard days work it you stupid Sonava BITCH
The UK strike has failed today. I have long suspected that the public sector workers are paid too much for little work, greedy and not competitive. Just an example; the temp staff who guarded the Heathrow border today in place of the strikers were only given 2 days training but they did a better job. The queue was quicker than ever.
The public sector workers only contributed only 3.8% of their salary to their pension pots. That is too little for gaining too much pension i.e. Their 27 years of contributions will only be enough to pay their pension for only one year. If they will retire for 20 years or more, it will only be enough if they have worked for 540 years. So where is the money comes from? No wonder the UK has already had the total foreign debt of 400% of the GDP.
Solidarity, peaceful esclation and mass action. The only solution is global revolution. General Strikes one after the other. We are the 99 per cent. Nothing can stop us.
should we wait for the economy to collapse or make measures like austerity packages today? the problem is all around us..should we make sacrifice now or pay the consequences later?
@ieatnoodles888 I think everyone agrees, however, the financial sector and big business should pay the lions share. It is only fair considering they collapsed the economy in the first place.
@TwoTube2 that's cool. And what is the identity? what do you stand for? what is your vision of the future? Who are your People? What is your money based on? Every one has a smart phone phallic in their ears. that's not identity.
Divide and conquer. It still works, even today. Just look at all the people in these comments complaining about the protests, when they should be sympathizing. Today it's the public workers and you don't care. Tomorrow it may be you and then you care, too bad others won't. People are powerless against governments and corporations until they stop fighting among themselves. An occupy here and a protest there won't do much good, they're too isolated. People must unite in bigger numbers.
You spend your life on welfare lines or looking for handouts, why don't you go find a job? The state takes half my pay so you can live for free. I got a family and bills to pay, no one hands money to me. How come it's these people who cry things are too tough. Claim they don't have enough, I say make them clean the sewers. If they don't like it go to hell and cut their public assistance.
@NORDSTRAND83 I don't know which video you were watching but i saw public WORKERS on strike. They have a job, they're not living on welfare. And i think it's completely understandable that they want to know why their pensions are being cut, while the corporations that caused the crisis in the first place get bailed out. And guess where that bailout money comes from.
@nolovelost92 Giving me a figure about economic inequality does nothing to prove whatever point you have to make. Britain, has for years had a bloated public sector, that at its peak during the Labour years, was bigger than the private sector. How you think that having over 50% of your economy funded by the government is not in anyway socialist is self-delusion.
Yeah.. Westerners start picketing and get pissed when it's THEIR money that's being taken.. But while our governments are screwing over every 3rd world country on the planet... no we don't give a flying fuck about that..
@nolovelost92 Oh grow up. Britain has been a socialist quagmire for years. The public sector is not special. They already get better pensions than the private sector. They are not entitled to be sheltered from the cuts.

Life expectancy is increasing, it only makes sense to raise the pension age.
Also, considering the amount of crap and debt the country is in its one of the more sensible cuts to make.
People who are striking don't know how lucky they are to have a job in this climate. Your just butt hurt cunt.
