my lop kept sneezing and i had to take her to the vet, she ended up having an infection. i paid for oral medacine which didn't help, then ended up paying a lot more for more medacine which she has to have through shots for 3 weeks. if the sneezing keeps up, take him in!!! otherwise you'll end up with a sicker rabbit!!

That's not a good sign. Usually when rabbits sneeze that much, they're sick and need to be taken to the vet.

I do not think it is a cough cuz my rabbit did this and the vet said it was a sneeze.

then she gave my a totally different anti biotic to give to my bunny holly for 4 weeks and after that she was fine. The snuffles is a very common and very contajous disease for rabbits. One rabbit may have had it in the pet store or breeder and it could spread to all the other rabbits. read about and plz plz plz take your rabbit to a vet as soon as possible.

She may have a disease called the snuffles. :'( Take her to the vet as soon as possible. My bunny had it and she sneezed crazy like this for about a year, I was suprised she didn't pass away. I looked it up on the internet and they said to get anti biotics from the vet as soon as possible. I went to the vet and she gave me some but they did not work. Then I got some more and they did not work. Finally the vet did a swap from her nose and they analyzed the bacteria.......

your bunny might have "snuffles" which is a respitory system problem that can make your bunny die. thats how my bunny died so you might want to look up "snuffles" becuase sneezing alot is one of the signs........... my bunny died of snuffles and it sneezed ALOT

It looks funny at first until you find out the root cause; which is pretty serious.

Rabbits can and often are colonized by pasteurella bacteria. Semi-harmless to us, but deadly to them. It can cause abscesses, watery eyes, nasal discharge, and excessive sneezing.

The bad thing is, if not treated quickly, it can spread from the nasal passages to other parts of the body, and is often known to be a leading cause of death in pet rabbits.

The good thing - it's very easily treatable at your vet

hey emily. that's so adorable a quack at the end..Um i dont really know how i stopped it, it was 2 yrs ago, guess he wasnt used to his new surrounding. There could be a possibility of allergy or maybe he/her isnt used to watever bedding ur using. Up till now i used the same bedding and somehow he stopped. He does it rarely now but not to that level anymore but wat i reckon is he'a not used to the new surrounding. Like human we get hayfever in mostly spring.that can also be the case for rabbits

This could be due to many different things.

Firstly, look into the kind of litter you're using. Make sure it is NOT CEDAR OR PINE!! This can cause respiratory problems that grow lethal. The only reccomended bunny litter that is made of wood is Aspen. However, from everyone I talk to, I hear yesterdays news absorbs better and has less of a smell.

It could also be something serious called snuffles. Please look it up for more information.

Definitely take him straight to a vet though!

my bunny does that and my friends cats do that and it basically means that if he/she grooms then he/she is most likely coughing up a hair ball. i would go and see a vet and you can get treatment for cats but they work on rabbits and it basiaclly helps the hair digest.

Cats can throw up, but rabbits are actually physically incapable.

They have really touchy GI tracts. What goes in must come out. If it doesn't it's actually a huge problem. That's why timothy hay is so important - the fibre.

rabbits are very sensitive and to any random changes in temperature, weather etc can cause them to sneeze. But dont worry tooo much, my rabbit sneeze once in a while but he's ALRIGHT. Once they finish sneezing they should be fine. Sometimes when it is too cold, my rabbit sneeze or even when it's windy which can trigger his sneezing. Rabbit's sneezing isnt such a big issue, they're very similar to human when we sneeze.
