  • I am in love with your lessons...it really hurts to type right now, my fingers are so sore! I have been pushing way to hard on them for too long now, but I can't stop trying to improve these chords! Thank you so much for the free, amazing lesson!

  • REALLY GREAT MAN!! CAN'T THANK YOU MORE!!!

  • This is a great lesson. I have been playing for a while now but need to sharpen up some skills. I practice the cord changes to "over the hills and far away", right before the solo is G, D, A, E. I was never really happy with how crisp the cords sounded because my changes sucked. After 5 minutes of playing sounds much better.

    Thank you for the lesson.

P.S. Purchased your album on iTunes! Great stuff!

  • wow..my guitar now can be called a guitar other than just a very-annoying-sound-maker !! hahaha..i love this guy XD

P.S : i have to thank u for not making me pay for any guitar lesson :D haha

  • These are just so perfect, along with the notes on the website. It's so well presented and simple. You're making a painful and frustrating thing like learning guitar so fun and addictive to improve. I'll be donating to the website, you deserve it for the great service you offer here. Not just free lessons but genuinely fantastic lessons.

  • the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This guy is good. I will not waste one penny ion another dvd again apart from his.

  • I am fired up about learning guitar after watching your videos. I have only been at it for 2 weeks so far and the A chord was especially frustrating not to mention trying to change between chords. This five minute lesson has made all of this so much easier. I plan to donate soon. Thanks so much, Justin.

  • u r the best teacher!!!

  • Thanks man that was really helpful for me :)

  • Gotta say it again, three days ago I couldn't play a chord. (and i've been fumbling with a guitar for fun for years (I'm a drummer) Drop d palm muting shit and got pretty good) yet chords were a big wtf. I got myself a new Schecter last week and finally told myself it was time to learn to play the guitar, not play random riffs from tabs on a guitar.

3 days in, and I already have the major and minor chords memorized and getting the hang of switching in between. THANKS Justin. Will donate soon

  • Man, you're awesome. After many years of barely being able to understand, let alone play chords, I'm finally getting it from watching you teach.

  • google guitar manual blog for beginner lessons , see first results. thanks

  • @twisterellafell FAIL worst lesson's ever...justin is better

  • This is great. I can praise the lord, rock my world and play to my friends., You have did a great job, Ill give you a five star rating. Superb!

  • I left my guitar teacher for you, Justin!

Please keep like this! We love you!

  • Teach me how to be awesome at life.

  • I feel like he is really here talking to me and telling me what exactly( step by step) what i am doing wrong. Great teacher( patience and encouragement). Hated chords changes now i am loving them. Thank you very very very much.

  • I can change from e to a to d and all different variations faster without the anchor finger. something about it is worse then normally doing it by taking fingers off.

  • @TheDDDeagle I think with the anchor finger you get interruption in the sound on only two strings out of three, whereas with the 1-2-3 fingering, you get interruption on all strings. That's what might make it sound unusual. I tried playing Wild Thing with the anchor method, and it just sounds different.

  • @KnocksX Dont really think its the sound of it, but taking your fingers off if your fast enough is better to me cause you can resituate everything.

  • watching you play is like the easiest thing in the world. no buzzing sounds, no muted sounds (both from holding the string down too lightly).

  • love the vids man! your site is glitched tho!

  • OMG! thank you for saying not to press to hard! lol i was pressing so hard that my fingers actually started to bleed! ahaha and also this video was very helpful because i was having trouble changing chords fast =)

  • Very helpful! Thanks a lot. I was struggling to change between D and A.

  • lol 4 people cant do this

  • this was really helpful!

  • thank you

  • this is my biggest problem, changing chords

  • your lessons are GREAT,thanks so much :D

  • Thanks a ton for this. I've been learning guitar on my own but can't afford lessons. It's really nice to have these tutorials.

  • just wanna say i love you man! These tips are helping me out a lot! and you are a great guitarist!

  • this was really helpful!! thank you! :) keep up the wonderful work! ^

  • im so happy to finally tumble in these vids!!!

  • thanks justin!XD you teach me lots<3 i wonder though if 11chords between d&a is good in minute?

  • why isnt my comment comin up?

  • so cool way better than any other vids other vids dont even show u their fingers so u have no ideo wot they r talkin bout but ur vids r clear and less confusing but could u tell me where you could get 1 of those things round ur fingers when holding the strings so they dont hurt as much coz now i have 2 wind tape round my fingers and put blutak in the tape and its annoyin when ur plaayin the guitar so if u could tell where u could get them from that would be very helpful

    thank you very much!!!!

  • great work !! thx a lot

  • Dude,i'm at your site,and i think it's wonderfull what you're doing,i've playing for 6 months,and your site is what i needed :P...If i ever get a credit card i'll be sure to donate!

  • Thank you so so much!

Your videos are awesome, helps a lot :)

  • 45 or 22.5? lol on my first day of guitar too! thanks Justin, youve helped me a tonne!

  • You are Epic Win Justin!

  • hey justin here ! xD

  • You are the best teacher on the net I've seen so far. Probably 20x better than any expertvillage video I've seen anyway.

  • who needs private lessons wen u gt justin! ^^ I prefer you to my actual private teacher! Ive learnt so much faster!, So stuff that private teacher! lmao

  • you are born to teach!!

  • thank you so much

  • justin.. from D to A there is a much easier way with your A fingering! the 3rd finger on the D should just slide back and the chord is easily formed. There's no need to lift this finger :D

  • Justin, you are the guitar Yoda! I have not come across another online guitar teacher who is as good.

  • He could own Yodas Åss anytime!

  • thanks man

  • you are my favorite youtuber now.

  • my fingers hurtin' lol

  • Justin, you are by far the best teacher I've seen! And it's all for free, that's really cool. Keep it going! :)

    Greetings from Germany.

  • D to A is quite easy!

  • wow, you are great

  • ENGLish men:)

  • sure he's an Aussie

  • it's the only way to be able to move the fingers quickly and independently in fingerpicking style. Check out Tommy Emmanuel, he uses this fingering all the time.

  • I suppose it kinda makes sense, if you want the 1st string (E, 5th of the chord) to be easy to play and sound clean. But it's rather uncanny, I'll give you that.

  • actually, most experienced guitarists play it that way.

  • Great Lesson. Justin Rocks. So nice of him to put his fine lessons on You Tube.

  • keep it up justin!!!!

  • Great vid. This open A chord is a real pain. I avoided playing it for some time (which was a stupid idea though ;) ), then learned "traditional" 123 fingering, but string under my first finger kept buzzing, so I've started to use my middle, ring and little finger, and this is ok, but it's harder to change between chords. Guess I have to check out Justin's way to play it.

Oh, and... I love this Maton <3 really. Beauty ;)

  • just practice it

  • It's not a matter of practice no more. It turned out that I have to set up the truss rod and file of the bridge/saddle. It's so easy now :) But thank you anyway. Cheers.

  • O OK MY BAD

  • Very good lesson, easy to follow and understand, thanks.

  • wow the quality of the vid is awsome!

  • These videos are so fucking good because you go down to a beginners level and remember all the small details that all the other teachers skip. I know that these videos can mean incredibly much to beginners if they find them, so you are just for doing them, even though I don't need them :)

  • man! just take what you want and leave the rest. This video is titled black on white " for biginners. This a perfect a video for us not you an expert.

Good job man! and I would love more of your finger changing in all other chords.

    Again thanks for your help.

  • You are right .This video is titled black on white " for biginners. This is a perfect a video for us not for an expert.

Good job man! and I would love more of your finger changing in all other chords.

    Again thanks for your help.

  • Hey, I've got the same strat except for the facts that it is a Mexican strat and that it is S-S-H. :)

    Nice lesson!

  • Great lesson. These really help us begginers make progrss! Ooops I dropped my E again (in "progress")! LOL

  • I learned the e-d transition long ago the old fashioned way, but this would have definitely helped back then, good lesson for beginners.

  • I want your strat.

  • Justin, I think that you should maybe teach Me and Julio by Paul Simon, it uses only A, E, and D as the major chords, and would be great for your beginner students to practice the anchor technique as well as their chords.

  • yer wild thing is a good song too i think justins got some older vids with easy songs on (like 3 vids with 3 songs on each) this guy is soo cool your camera is awsome

  • Wow fantastic video quality! :P and nice lesson!

  • why does guitar564 think he is so special?

Thank you again justin, your videos are great and i am mostly looking forward to the J.U.S.T.I.N chord recognition audio things, the first one was great, thanks buddy.

  • dude you are a great teacher... i've watched tons of "how to play guitar vids" on here and i learn the most from yours
