My country has done bad things. The US has done bad things. Given a position of power, most groups/nations in history have done bad things. Yes Israel has done bad things, and is doing bad things, but to say that " they are responsible for the suffering in most of the world" is way over the top.

"intellectually honest", then makes false statements. "A maniacal dream of exterminating the Jewish people" is clearly false: Hagee is either recklessly in disregard of the truth, (hardly a characteristic of someone competent to lead others spiritually) or simply knowingly lying.
