  • Beautiful plane, I would love a KMP beaver. I hope you got it fixed up.

  • Is it worth calling CAA at 3:50?

  • where you get the beaver from

  • Comment removed

  • what a five star dick

  • RC... ble

  • It almost held together upon impact. It looks like if you headed straight for shore you might of made it. Nice plane, sorry about your misfortune.

  • Nice Plane to bad it hit to hard on the last rounder I did fly a cadet senior till my radio quit had the damb thing trimed to flat would`nt come down till it hit the trees flew for 5 yrs tho lots of fun ey.

  • lol I want some of what you smoked before you dropped that thing into the lake.

  • k so , bad landing haha, but electric start?!?!?!?! i'm fairly new to rc'n but please explain what thats all about, what type of engine do you have on the beaver?

  • gas motor just had the idle really low could not here it running for where the camera was

  • id laugh if it discentergrated on impact

  • Ha Ha - really enjoyed this and what a beautiful setting - which lake is it? (better give me the state too cos I'm from UK.

  • That is Trail Lake in Moose Pass Alaska

  • is that a scratch build if not what kit is it thanks

  • Lol, someone's going swimming.

  • nope, boat was on the way as she was going down... lake is way too cold for swimming as it is glacier fed.

  • @akavidflyer i cant find this plane on the net is it a kit? thanks mike smith

  • ELECTRIC START!! loving that feature!

  • i like where that is i want to live there

  • it looked so real at first

  • nice plane .... nice video

  • REAL STUPID

  • @akavidflyer Waste! of money!!! And who's morgans

  • and why is it a waste??? it still flys.. what the hell, it's only money you cant take it with you...

  • lmao

  • beautiful,

I'm looking forward to fly mine one day, since 2007 it's hanging in our livingroom (only 64inch wingspan) ;-)

  • like the titanic

    lol

  • I was think that was a real plain...

  • That plane will fly again and I'm sure well. It looked great in the air. I fly foamies because I enjoy flying in a non scale fashion but I gotta say I might start looking for a scale plane now. What a gorgeous setting.

  • nice lights

  • At First I thought it was real and that you fast forwarded it LOL.

  • Even the dead stick landing was a little bit off. Shit, there isn't a pilot who flys RC that has not had a bad landing, or has had some very expensive lawn darts meet the earth due to radio, mechanical or pilot failure. I have three pontoon planes and I love flying them whenever I get the chance. It did just sound like a tuning problem, since full throttle sounded a bit rich in my opinion. Keep posting those vids, it takes guts to put the bad ones up and not just the gems!

  • nope, top end was fine. the RX batt died and she went to fail safe, which was closing the throttle. Figured it out when I got it back to shore...

  • Glad you figured the problem out! thats half the battle right there! What brand of plane is that? Is that from that Italian company that has those plastic molded planes like the Carousel and the Ready, and also the Beaver? Keep em in the air!

  • oh man...READ THE SIGNS !!! bad piloting ( enen though you flew it ok ) you had a flat spot in the engine. Fix it on the ground then go fly. Still, great video. Just breathtaking place to fly. We fly our RC seaplanes in the tropics. Much nicer in shorts !

  • watch some of the other vids. nothing to do with piloting except that I did not recognise the fail safe condition.

  • I was going to say, I thought those were good landings, until that last one.

Still, better than what I could do at my skill level. They way I fly, I doubt there would have been a second chance.

  • Wow that is a great plane! I love how some ppl thought it was real.. Take that as a compliment to your craftsmenship! Now when ppl think its funny when others who spend an extreme amount of time building such wonderful things and they get damaged and you laugh! That rips me up! I worked for half a year rebuilding a 1982 Quicksilver MXII Ultralight and had a bird strike at 2400FT AGL! It hurt bad seeing my baby damaged, I mean I survived but all the same NOT FUNNY! Best wishes and good luck!

  • toy?? haha

  • wow. that thing looked like it was flying great! how much would something like that cost?

  • awesome plane and realy good flying up untill the oops! sorry to see that but been there done that lol

  • Very nice plane and scenery! Glad to hear it flew again. I fly rc heli's and planes(non scale) but I really like scale aircraft and think thats the way I want to go in the future.

  • thats a toy?

  • It is funny looking back.. the plane survived and only needed new floats.

The goobers here dont know what RX lock out is and think that I had full control till spash down.. that simply was not the case. After 30 yrs in RC I have handled every emergency situation there is, from wings folding to dead batteries to engine outs in a low level hover, I have not been in a panic situation for about 25 years. I handle it as it comes and do the best you can with what you have to work with.

  • haha WOOO, its a civil Air Patrol Beaver! lol go CAP! I recently started flying my first RC, and was abe to do some water take offs and landings not to long ago, but, I need more practice, any advice for water langings? nooooo, i just saw the ending.. sad

  • Akavidflyer, I don't care what the rest of these turkeys say. If the throttle was on fail safe, you did an excellent job of landing that aircraft. I fly giant scale and now use A123 batteries in everything. Charge time is very minimal and I can regulate the output to whatever. I take it that your plane has Giant Scale Hi Torque servos so might want to look into the A123s. And for the rest of you folks, when you sit and build for months and the plane dies unexpectedly, IT IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL!!!!

  • What brand in the plane?

  • I thought the commentary both on the video and in the here in the remarks section is a little harsh, to say the least. I have a little bit of time now flying r/c aircraft, and slightly more time in the left hand seat of manned aircraft. The whole point about R/C aircraft is that you don't die when you crash, therefore you can try suicidal manoevers if you want to.

Crashing R/C aircraft is funny, sometimes even when it's you own, but definitely if it's someone else.

    Lighten up, internet people!

  • I dont know how many time I have to spell this out for dummies that cant read. The RX batter was going dead, and the radio kept locking out and when that happened the throttle servo went fail safe and killed the engine. I did not recognize for what it was at the time untill I got it back to shore.

Dont know what to tell you on the real pilot.. look at my other vids, there is one of me flying a kitfox.. several infact. Now feel free to go pound sand..

  • Pilot preteneders huh.. funny I fly full scale beavers also, Otters, 180's 185's 206's the list goes on. How about you pound sand and quit anoying me. If you dont like dont look, are you that dumb to not be able to click off the video?

  • ppl the rule for stupid ppl is to just ignore them and dont give them the joy of having attention, don't respond, just thumbs dwn it.

also that landing looks like thae one landing of that dash 8 at that airshow flown by buffalo airliens, it was on spike tv

  • Nice electric starter. Nice landing at the end also!

More info on your setup please? I've kind of been looking at the big Beaver they make. How's she fly?

  • More stupid FS....stop posting like if it was a real plane, dam pricks....

  • guess your the prick.. it is not FS jackass. it is RC, and yes, I can touch it and feel it so it is real.... tool...

  • KMP is a manufacturer of r/c aircraft.

It says it's r/c in the title. Sorry you don't know what you're talking about.

  • Electric start...that is cool!

  • this sucks

  • its a toy.

  • I guess it's a good thing there weren't any tiny miniature scale people on board.

  • Wow onboard starter, what size is that model, and motor ? thanks.

  • sounds like a 26cc gasser.

the onboard starter is a scooter starter i guess.

    i want to know

  • Yeah i havent heard anything really about onboard starters on rcu atleast but have been noticing it on youtube videos like these.

  • they are for sale.

    but dont know where.

from .40 seize to 50cc, pricing from $100 to $300

  • that sucks,i hope i flew again

  • wow, and some people have no clue what they are talking about... when the RX battery goes dead there is not much you can do about it. And it is my toy, not a kids you retard.

  • that's a beautiful model! did you build it yourself, and were you able to repair it? good thing it was close to the shoreline...

  • A new set of floats and she was good to go

  • new "set" of underwear and we all good

    =D

    nice vid man

  • Awesome beaver! sorry bout the landing though, oh well itcan be fixed i hope.

  • I dried it out and flew it a couple weeks later with new floats

  • Why such negative comments? It's just a hobby.

  • I dont sweat it... people cant help it if they are retarded...

  • perfect explanation :) lmao @ the people who demand a title change, it's fairly obvious from the thumbnail that the video is of an RC plane

  • I wish youtube had a way to sort between R/C videos, MS flight sim videos and real airplane videos. They all mix with each other when searching and browsing...

  • Hope you had your waders on!

  • Last words: " like the Titanic".

Beautiful plane, nice with the electric starter.

    What Engine?

    Cheers from QC, Canada, Chris

  • awsome flying we all make mistakes and dat is one pretty plane, love to have one like

  • Vid is too long but plane is awesome, electric start w/landing light. Hardcore!

  • oh lol i thought this was a real plane at first lol

  • put "model" in the title

  • LOL...Great video...Ever thought of getting a golden retriever to get your plenes when in distress?

  • problem solved... the RX was going into failsafe, was not a engine problem at all.

  • Awsome plane, too bad you had some problems with the engine, hehe :)

  • ya no crap why cant you put rc in front or behind your title just wanna spam for views i guess..rc hero

  • it says KMP beaver... that is Kondor Model Products. I could care less about spamming for views, I dont care if you watch it or not. For those who like it fine, if you dont then piss off. Real simple.

  • I just hope that everyone survived.

  • it is a RC model, not a full size plane.

  • Oh yeah I know.

I was referring to the RC operator and, the cameraman and the guy/girl holding the boom microphone (if there was one). Are they all OK?

  • i love that part, "its like the titanic" LMFAO

  • you stupid or something? that is a pretty damn broad statement.

  • he's right.

  • so true...aviation videos should be about aicraft - not toys.

  • ok so with general aviation on the decline, what do you purpose to do about it. I got my start in RC and have since moved up to full scale. Aviation is anything from a paper airplane, to the space shuttle as far as I am concered. Looking at it as a toy is a matter of perspective. I think my full scale planes are toys, I enjoy the hell out of them same as I do my models.

  • screw you, there are ton of people that enjoy rc, you give an rc toy to anybody and they will enjoy it, 99.999% of people in the world like it, and you are the only one that doesnt, so shut the hell up about it.

  • "Like the Titanic..." LOL! Cool plane, good video, I enjoyed it.

  • lol its a model aircraft

  • Water planes do not "Land" they "Alight"

This Beaver flies like it may be a little overweight, What are the stats on the model.

  • I love flying off water and have three models capable of swapping the wheels for floats and a North Star that has only had wheels on it once. A good water take off and alighting is really satisfying.

  • it is over weight. Spose to be 16-18 lbs, but mine is 22# with on board start etc. I have it dialed in and flying much better now, but it is still heavy..

  • I love R/C planes

    I love water planes

When you put it together . . .

This is a great video. The guy in it sounds like someone I play video games with! LOL.

Um, where did you get that plane and where is Trail Lake?

  • gotta love em RC's

  • Nice flying for the most part !

I just got a G4 flight simulator for Christmas, and flying a plane with floats is DIFFICULT! I commend you for your efforts. Fun twist, trying to make people believe the plane is REAL!

  • Sorry, what's a G4 flight simulator?

  • Great Planes(tm)- Real Flight(tm)flight simulator is so realistic that the only thing missing is the wind in your face, or on your back. The basic package has 4 float planes, including a BigStick(tm) , and a Piper Cub. The Cub LOVES to float in the air as well as on the water ! Very difficult to land properly!

  • the electric start is great

  • Dont deadstick too well does it! on board starter, that is cool...

  • i dont get it why people gives 3 stars for this vid! the beaver rc here is very realistic, the sound in the air is awesome, also the skills on turning in the air is also nice. Just maybe needs a little practice is the landing, but that's just about it, the second landing is exellent. 5 star for the vid!

btw akavidflyer, hav u tried like a 3 hour or more non stop flight using this rc to test the durability of the engine?

  • ok one last time on the facts of this video... The engine kept quiting because the reciver was going into failsafe and killing the engine just as I had programed it to do.. but I forgot I had programed it lol.. look at the other vids of it. If someone thinks they can do better with a 22# plane that should be 16# and a chinese airfoil, please be my guest and post it up..

I have not flown 3 hrs nonstop, it gets boring after 30 minutes of scale type flying.

  • u may wanna fix that engine

  • I can fly a big plane, but I've never touched a little one. I'd probably crash it!

  • awesome RC...nice skills

  • Beautiful RC model, idiot pilot.

  • Nice stall with the last soft landing - tool!

  • thanks...

  • wow its RC I was gonna say if that was real life they would have been dead if they crashed like that.

  • what size engine? I am think about goin to a G 38 ..Do think that might be right? I liked the remote starter on yours

  • what are you running on yours now? The G38 is a good bit heavier, and from what I remember on my old G38 it did not swing the same 18X6 prop much faster than the G26 on electronic ignition does.

  • Ohh its an RC

I was going to say, that thing must be going mach 2

  • nice ship,I just got a cessna 185 on floats made by kmp as well,I fly 1/4 scale but this is my first floater,Im using a g26 for power and ernst rudders.I would like to talk to you and maybe learn a few pointers if it is cool with you, happy flying from ottawa canada.

  • PM me and ask away... I have been looking real hard at the 185. I would love to get some pics and talk to you about the 185. I can give you some pointers on the water rudders to as to what will work great and what sorta works and what does not work.. I have done all three many times lol..

  • Where can I get one of those.

  • Wow that was fantastic the starter is a fantastic thing hope you didn't get too wet getting it back in

  • great video,

I was laughing my ass of watching it. It makes it even funnier how people take this video so sirious and even think this is a real plane.

  • does that thing have an electric starter or how did u start it in the very beginning..and i think its ver funny people think its a real plane..haha

  • it has a FEMA onboard electric start....

  • ;klj

  • was the pilot hurt? something didn't sound right with the engine. i thought the beaver had a radial engine.

  • it is a model RC plane.....NOT A FULL SIZE PLANE.

  • Beautiful plane. If someone's gonna drink and do something, they'd better drink and fish. That was so sad seeing that plane limp back in.

  • Not like I was toasted and flying it... I just put those comments on there for effect.

  • no license needed to fly a RC plane....

  • hahaha he thought it was real

  • that was a seriese of horrible landings the pilot should get his lisence taken away

  • LOL! Yes, take the pilot's license away! :)

I think the kid could do better ;)

  • yeah, lets see you flight it, brainwave!

  • Nice plane mice lake

  • scale 1:4?

  • 1:6 roughly. Real beaver has a 44' wing span, this one is 8'

  • nice plane but you land like fighter pilots lands on aircrafthcarriersm you need to work on the final .

  • that is the point of the video.. the engine was cutting out on short final and I kept pushing it anyway..do a search for kmp beaver wasilla and you can see that it is like normally

  • ok yes.

  • I like the onboard starter. Who makes it? I had a Beaver on floats it was lots of fun till the radio gave out.

  • the onboard start is by FEMA. Hobby lobby sells them.

I just put a few more flights on her today.

  • Thanks for the info. I miss flying mine. I am looking for another. Mine was the ugly v-mar, but it had a 10 foot wingspan and flew great. I had a 3.4 gas on it. Plenty of power.

  • booring

  • why it was fun in the end imagine if it was further out.
